| Comments: | My father, Eddie Broderick was in the 150th from D-Day until end of war. He was a middle weight boxer representing the battalion and fought in US prior to deployment and again in the UK. Stories I remember from childhood dealt with demolitions, mine sweeping and bridge building. He had many B&W photos - they were very tiny compared to what I grew up with. He drove a modified 2.5 ton truck with twin fifties mounted behind the cab. Most 2 1/2 trucks that were equiped with offensive firepower had a 30 cal so his truck must have left an impression to anyone seeing it and I wonder if anyone remembers seeing it. I had photos of it but can't find them: they may have been lost in a house fire. I'm looking for anyone who remembers Eddie Broderick. He was a fun guy and I understand had a fiery reputation associated with his boxing exploits. My father continued to serve. He died of a heart attack 1967. He was a detective- Stamford, CT Police Force. He often spoke of his buddies who never made it home. I have some momentoes and perhaps his 150th campaign scrapbook. I can scan it if anyone is looking that type of stuff. |

| Comments: | We will be visiting site more often for info on dates and location of Bn.. Our father was not transfered into Bn. until sometime around February 23, 1945. He originaly was a replacement Infantry who landed on Utah beach D-Day, was then put into the 90th Division on June 14th. He received a Combat Infantry Badge that same day, and fought with his Regiment until the 19th, when fighting the German breakthrough from the Cherburg Peninsula was wounded. After months in hospitals he was in limited service as a typist when his brother, James Inman also in the same Co., was able to transfer him into the 150th. James Inman, our uncle, joined the 150th in England just before they crossed the channel. Both brothers were together until the 150th was transfered from the 3rd Army. At this time Paul went to the 673 Engr. ToPo. Co. which built the "Battle Route of the XII Corps" map. Thank you for a great site. God bless all the men and women who fight for Democracy then and now. |

| Comments: | I am English and live near Nettlebed. I am researching the American Army units that were based in the Henley, Nettlebed, Kingwood Common, Peppard, Badgemore and Checkendon areas in 1943 to 1945. I have a particular interest in the Station Hospitals at Kingwood Common and Checkendon. I am looking for any one with memories, photos, plans they would be prepared to share with me or any ideas for places to look. There is a small concrete 'Engineer Castle' still in the woods near Nettlebed. It was made by the 343rd Eng Batt and I am told it was one of two at the entrances to the camp. Hence your page on the Castle device as used by the Engineers was very interesting! Best wishes from Oxfordshire Tony PS in mail address replace 'at' with '@' |

| Comments: | My father is Gildas Angers and he served in the 150th Combat Engineers Company "B". My husband and I went to France in May of this year and went to the beach where they landed and also Angers France. It was very moving to go the areas they went to during the war. I hope to see more next year on our trip to Belgium. |

| Comments: | I know my dad was in WWII I'm not sure what his status was. Unfortunately I wasn't always listening as a kid and was one of those who took things for granted at the time. I truley wish I had paid attention and asked more questions of his duties and where abouts....I can't ask him now. I only know I want everyone out there to know how important it is to remember and recognize there brave men and women for their dedicated lives they have given. Some returned and some did not. No matter what branch you are or were in I thank you for answering your call. God Bless and Keep you with him. |

From what I gather from other family members he didn't talk about it much. I do have a copy of a book celebrating the 50th Anniversary(Sept 9 1993) of the 252nd Enginerr Combat Battalion. It has several letters thanking them for their services and an individual history of sorts of Company A,B and D. I am willing to share info. Thank you. Lisa |

| Comments: | Thank you Soldier Have you stopped to thank a veteran today? For the price of freedom they had to pay? Did you gaze into those distant eyes? Did you see the ghosts he can't deny? Did you think a soldier's heart was made of steel? Because he was trained to kill, he couldn't feel? Did you see the guilt written on his face, For the loss of life he can't replace? Did you know he mourns the lives he couldn't save, And walks with comrades in their grave? Did you remember the boy with innocence lost? Do you really know war's ultimate cost? Have you felt the blast of artillery fire? Do you have the courage it would require? Have you stood in trenches consumed with fear? Felt the enemies breath so very near? Have you walked with God on a battleground? Seen your brothers dead or dying all around? Have you stopped to thank a vet today, Or did you just turn and walk away? From the pain he'll carry for the rest of his life, Did you consider his family, his children, his wife? That watch him suffer in silence each and every day, As he's haunted by memories that don't go away? Did you care that the soldier is still pulling guard? That his heart, mind, and soul will forever be scarred? Do you know how he suffers from ptsd? Or that our precious freedom is never free? Do you care that he still hears the blood curdling screams? Or that he returns to the war each night in his dreams? Have you felt the sorrow of a combat vet? Or would you rather just forget? That war has pierced his hardened heart, And torn this soldier all apart? Would you rather our heroes just fade away? Or will you stop to thank a vet today? By Chris Woolnough |

| Comments: | I was looking through your site and was quite impressed. It is so refreshing to see patriotism! I truly worry about the kids of today and there lack of respect for the flag and what it stands for. I'm sure it's because they have never been faced with war close to home and therefor it doesn't seem relevant to them. It's a shame that when things are good we take life so for granted and those that have come before us. Thanks for your heart in the matter. |
