| Comments: | The videos of Lai Khe, Thunder Road and a little of Ben Cat have been posted to youtube. All you have to do is go to youtube, type in saigon42503 and vola the videos will come up. There are five of them. Simply click on # 1, then 2 and you will be able see them in sequence as I traveled from Saigon, through Ben Can, up Highway 13 into Lai Khe on a motorbike. I turn left in front of the old division headquarters and head down the road toward where the barbershop, em club and Chapel were located. At the end of the road I turn left down to the Charlie Company area. It is a little difficult to find the exact area where Charlie was at since all the old rubber trees are no longer there, but new ones that were planted sometime in the early 90s. Got any questions please feel free to contact me. I've walked over several areas where we set up ambushes, been ambushed and also places we slept, like the Thunders. |

| Comments: | For anyone who has a desire to return to Vietnam, please take care where you walk. There is still unexploded ordinance all over the country, not to say one can't walk through the fields and jungle. Just be careful. On the trip up around Da Nang, I walked upon a piece of a bomb that had exploded,I think!
For any who want to see how Lai Khe and Thunder Road looks like today, I am in the near future going to post some video, I took while on a motorbike ride up "Thunder Road" Highway 13, and around Lai Khe on Youtube, just as soon as I figure how to do it. |

| Comments: | Black Lions: This is a very worthwhile project. Let's help this young lady.
Ed Mr. Burke, I am currently researching Private Esiquio Airnaldo Cantu (Arnie Cantu) C CO, 1ST BN, 28TH INFANTRY, 1 INF DIV, who lost his life in the Vietnam War. in 1967. I am doing this research as a part of my final English requirement for my senior year of high school. I have been given the opportunity to pay tribute to an American soldier who was lost to us in the Vietnam conflict. I currently attend James W. Robinson High School in Fairfax, Virginia. This project is particularly touching for just that reason; Sergeant James Robinson was killed in action during the Vietnam conflict, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Congressional Medal of Honor for his dedication to his country. When completed, the research projects that my fellow classmates and I are doing will be submitted to the Vietnam Center and Archives at Texas Tech University so that future generations can know those who have lived and died to serve their country. In order to complete my research, I am in need of information about Private Cantu and I am hoping that you might be able to help. I found your contact information using the Black Lions Website of the 28th infantry division which he was a part of during his service in Vietnam. If you need to verify the authenticity of this project, please contact my teacher, Carol Hazam, at Carol.Hazam@fcps.edu. Thank You, Katherine Costa therin.costa@gmail.com |

| Comments: | I'm going to be posting quite a few pictures of the BN taken in 69 over the next few months and could use help in maybe putting names with faces or locations and perhaps someone can put a name to whomever took the pictures. The pictures (slides) showed up on ebay, the seller lives in the Chicago area and it is thought they came from a estate sale.
use the above URL and look for the link "can you ID the photos" The photo's are low resolution however if you find a photo of yourself or someone you know I'm sure the owner of the photo's would be ok if I sent you a high resolution copy. I've only seen just a few of the photo's but I know their is one of the B Company Sign. Just as soon as the owner can scan the slides (about 150) I will get them posted. thanks Lee |

| Comments: | I just finished "Blood Trails" found it an honest, fresh approach to the way we had to fight the war from those of us who were the "point of the spear". I served as a Cav Trooper in 68 and left on the C141 on my back like Chris and to this day have ,in cold weather, a limp because of my time there. No matter the rank that war was tough on each of us ,fought from on high and left to us on the ground to figure out how to accomplish the mission and make it back home.I would like to point a few inaccuracies of the book, i.e. there were no M-60 tanks in VN but infact the M-48 was there. The 90MM tank gun did not have a Bee-hive round but had a canistor round stocked full of 2800 slugs of steel ( the 105 howzier had the bee-hive). 90 day wonders were actually 6 month wonders with 6 more months of troop duty before deployment, lastly M-16's had Magizines not clips (unless u count the 10 round stripper clip used to fill the mag). Other than the above picking thru the book it brought lots of memories both god and bad and I respect Chris and all of us who answered the call and did what we thought right no matter the pain it caused.
