| Comments: | I believe that the ethnic problem (Greek/Turk) on Cyprus is a result of an underlying "biological" cause and it is this same biological factor that has driven the conflicts in Kosovo, Kashmir, Northern Ireland, etc. I have created a webpage explaining my views. If you have time, please check it out. You may find my views interesting. If you believe in "Natural Selection", my argument is sound. Thanks. |

| Comments: | Turks have no place in Cyprus or Greece. You parasites belong back in Mongolia. You are nothing but mixed mongols. The seljuk turks were formed by mongolians turkish tribes a little before the crusades. You have no business in Asia Minor or Europe, heck even the Arabs dont want you. The worst kind of parasitic people are the Turks. You try and cover up your history about all the murders you committed against Greek, Armenians, filthy Syrians and Kurds. You murdered women, children and men. Then you have the nerve to talk about the Turks lost during the wars! The turks that were lost is no where compared to the amount of Greeks and Armenians together in fact not even a quarter percent! Nobody likes you Turks and those that do have no which is very minimal have no clue about your history that you try to cover up. I cant wait to see you all burn in the depths of hell! with your children!!! Heil Hellas , the good always prevail! |

| Comments: | I am English, have lived in Cyprus, speak Greek, and love the island and the Cypriots. (I make no distinction between Christian or Moslem) Nothing would give me greater joy than to see the island reunited, but to do that I think you must forget the past (easier said than done admittedly, but it does no good to keep dragging up old grievances)and start again. You must be Cypriots, and tell the rest of the world, including Greece, Turkey, UK and in particular USA (read 'The Cyprus Conspiracy)to mind their own business.
Just one or two other points:- There were Turks in Cyprus for several hundreds of years before the British took over at the beginning of the 20th century. They were not moved in as cheap labour The British did not help the Turks during 1974,despite stories of English(?) speaking aircrew being shot down and captured. Try looking at the subject of American NATO exchange aircrew flying with the Turkish airforce. |

Now that I am much older and have studied the history, I am sorry to say that I am so embarressed to be English, We let the greek people down badly!! we were suppost to be the guardians of the island and did NOTHING!?? nothing more than a puppet to the USA.
I consider myself now to be an honary Greek Cypriot, and fully support for Justice for the greek Cypriots & be free from the illegal occupants. wish I could help and do more I would love to see Kyrinia & Famagusta again!!? Fond memories. |

| Comments: | I believe that, first of all the brains of Cypriots must be unified on an uniqe history knowledge about Cyprus... Then I'm sure they will be able to elliminate all of the evil-mindeds, prejudices injected into their brains and all other stereotypes.
How can you cook a meal if you are given a wrong recipe? All of the past and present facts regarding Cyprus tragedy that both parties are not agree on must be clarified and the criminals must be punished... otherwise It'll be impossible to unite Cypriots whther you might be able to unify Cyprus or not... |

| Comments: | As a 3rd generation 'Greek Cypriot', born in South Africa. My Parents and,Grandparents were born in Cyprus, I have family in Cyprus that have suffered the hardship of the invasion and became refugees. It has also interested me to really understand what the reasons for the invasion were, and the involvement of all concerened. My view in the research that I have done is that it was a tragic event of an agrresor who wanted to gain political and territorial power, through these means, the unfortunate is that many innocent people suffered by this.
As a South African, I can relate to the racial and ethnic differences that occur cominng from a complex society and process that we had to follow to finally have peace and learn to live together. The point that I want to make having read some of the comments on this page, is that it is very difficult to overlook the fact that family of mine and my Fathers village were persecuted and occupied, just for the sake of power. Yes many parties are to blame and they include Greece, USA, Turkey and the UN, for not preventing and avioding the invasion, which they could have done. Personally I do not have hatered for Turks but rather, intolernce for what has happened and the lives lost. Something that stikes me is the similarity of the politics in the recent Iraqi 'invasion'. And people claim it in the name of peace, well how much more suffering do we need to see 'PEACE'. The recent events of the borders opening up in Cyprus is positive and hopefully it can be a united Cyprus again, but with 'CYPRIOTS' in control of there own destiny.....I look forward to visit my Fathers village and understand better my heritage and roots..... |

| Comments: | well, this seemed hard to believe. i cannot believe yet to what i have read on these pages. I'm living in the North of Cyprus from the moment I was born, and I'm one of the few people that believe that there will be a solution to this long lasting conflict years. I have lived in a very secure environment, and my parents had taught me to hate war and love peace with all my heart. although the north of Cyrpus is not very well developed, when I compare it with the south; I have always had a desire to see the south of my island. it is our island... not Turkey's, not Greece's, it is the island of Cypriots. i have studied briefly the history of the island, i have searched the Greek archives about the island, and I found that there are not many differences in what the books say. the island belongs Cypriots, either Greek or Turkish. yet, nobody had found a solution to the problem. I'm proud to tell my nationality although I hate to live in the north part of the island, because in the past twenty years many things had changed, especially with the latest developments in technology. North Cyprus is not the place I lived in my childhood... but I owe to say one thing here. I'm not going to defend Turkey, because i know by myself that she did many mistakes about the island, and still does. if there weren't Turkey, now, in the North of the island, the people were living in poverty. here I want to give facts, not fake things about the North. the literacy level is above 98%, almost everybody at the ages of 20-30 have went to university, people have everything they desire, some houses in North have more than two cars, nobody violates the rights of others, and although Greek Cypriots claim that the North is governed by a pseftokratos; people in north are living in harmony. I have never believed on what the politicians say, because I know that people want peace in island. I'm one of these who want peace. although Turkey is claimed to be a invader, a state which violated human rights, there is one fact that nobody should deny. this fact is that, if there weren't Turkey, perhaps Turkish Cypriots weren't in the situation they are now. I have lived in north all my life, and I know, read, talk and communicate perfectly in Greek, Turkish, English, Spanish and German. tell me now, if there are nothing that worths in the north, if the north is a pseftokratos, then how did I learned all these languages without any help from anybody? in high school, main language was English, and I'm studying in an university with English language as main education language. I have learnt Greek by watching Greek Cypriot channels, (Something that i love to do), and I have learnt German in high school as a second language; Spanish in University as an elective course. the most amazing thing is that, I have never left the island except two week annual trips to Turkey that i did six years ago, and a trip to London when I was 8. this is what i wanted to say. again, I want to say that i believe with all my heart that there will be a solution in OUR island that will satisfy both Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots. |

| Comments: | I think you have been way subjective and extremely biased in this "resolving and solutions" thing. Try to put yourself into other people's shoes and do your research based on the reality again. Calling a Turkish Prime Minister a puppet will only decrease your class.
Thank you |

| Comments: | I WAS QUITE SATISFIED WITH WHAT I VE READ IN YOUR PAGE AND
YOUR GUESTBOOK. BUT UNFORTUNATELY THIS ACCORDING TO MY THOUGHTS WILL NEVER WORK. IT IS HISTORICALLY PROVEN THAT TURKS CAME ON THE ISLAND AS CHEAP LABOUR HANDS BY THE BRITISH. OF COURSE FROM THERE ON THEY CREATED A COMMUNITY WHICH I, AS A GREEK, OUGHT TO RESPECT (LET ALONE THAT TURKEY NEVER RESPECTED ANY GREEK COMMUNITIES BUT...) ON THE OTHER HAND THE STRUGGLE FOR THE ENOSIS (UNION) OF CYPRUS WITH MOTHER GREECE WAS SABOTAGED BY ALL GREAT POWERS (INCLUDING TURKEY, AND THE GREEK JUNTA). SO WHAT IS LEFT TO DO IN MY OPINION IS KEEP THE CULTURAL, HISTORICAL IDENTITY OF CYPRUS (WHICH IS A GREEK NAME)UNHARMED AND CREATE A STATE THAT WILL BE UNDER THE PROTECTION OF GREECE AND THE UN. HISTORY TEACHES THAT NOT A A TURKISH SOUL WAS EVER HARMED BY GREEKS WITHOUT HAVING BEING PROVOKED FIRST. I FEEL VERY BAD SEEING MY MOTHERLAND, CYPRUS, OCCUPIED, DIVIDED AND LOOSING DAY AFTER DAY IT'S HELLENIC IDENTITY. ANY ANSWER BY ANYBODY IS MOST WELCOME. |
