Comments:Your site is inspirational in many ways. I've been listening to bits and pieces of Celtic music on isolated intervals; but have recently developed what seems to be a passion for such music. I've just got the Best of the Celtic Circle 3-CD pack, and it's kncoked my socks off. I came upon your site when I was searching for the lyrics of one of the tracks on that album. It's called The Cloud, by Bill Douglas. Unfortunately, it's not there. Can you help? :) Alaa

Comments:Ciamar a tha thu, agus moran taing! Thank you so much for creating this site for all Gaelic learners. I try to take an hour every other day to play a Gaelic musican's CD on my computer, and then find the songs on your site, so I can read along with the song playing:) It helps with the translations and especially the pronunciations. Please keep adding to it, it really is a God-send to those of us trying to learn the language! BTW: We have a Gaelic language class here in New Glasgow, NS, and Gaelic classes are offered at the two high schools here in Pictou County.

Comments:Hello to everbody! Last saturday I joined Cathie Ryan and band on concert. She visits at the moment Austria. I was fascinated of her voice and her songs. The performance was great:-)) At the finish of her concert she prensented a song, which she performs since 25 years. The content was the following: a poor woman wants to marry, but each of her favorites is a son of her father. She is really desperate, till her mother proclaims, that she isn`t father daughter. I search in the www since hours for the correct name of the song. It seems, that the song doesn´t appear on an album of Cathie Ryan. Who can help me? I will be very glad for any helping hand. So long, and once again, im fascinated of the traditional irish music, Mario

Comments:A wonderful page! I came here in the hope to find the lyrics to a song called "There Was An Old Man" once sung by Maureen O'Hara on one of her albums, but unfortunately I was not successful. Can somebody help with these lyrics or give me a hint where I could have a look? I am searching this for a dear friend in the United States. Please contact me if you can be of any help! Thanks and my compliments for this wonderful site. Love, Pia

I just happened to come across dulaman on your website and i would not agree with one or two parts of the translation- "Rachaimid go Doire-I would go to Dore"should it not be-"we will go to Derry"? "Is ceannóimid bróga daora -I would buy expensive shoes" is ceannoimid means we will buy. Ar an dúlamán gaelach-Said the Irish seaweed.i feel that this line means that they will buy it on the cost of the dulaman, another words when they sell the dulaman they will have the money to spend. Ó cha bhfaigheann tú mo 'níon "Oh where are you taking my daughter?" this here should translate "you will not get my daughter" I hope this helps. Is mise Ruairi og

Comments:Thanks for these lyrics! Here are the corrected lyrics to Dolores Keane 'A Storm In My Heart' -- one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded: Storm In My Heart The stormy winds and the raging seas The driving rain, it lashes my face It breaks all my bones and balms my skin And delivers me to this place You bind up my wounds with your healing hands You whisper sweet words all in the dark You raise me up and you calm me down You're starting a storm in my heart Chorus: A storm in my heart, a storm in my heart You're starting a storm in my heart The ghosts are there behind my back Racing clouds all in the night Breaking waves on a lonesome shore That leave the spirit bright You touch the pulse and lift the clouds You whisper sweet words all in the dark You chase away the hungry wolves You're starting a storm in my heart (Chorus) The timber is weak and the sails are torn Ready to betray my loving trust To fix the rope around my neck And deliver me to my rest I fall forever in the night You whisper sweet words all in the dark You break the line of time and tide You've started a storm in my heart A storm in my heart, a storm in my heart You've started a storm in my heart (Repeat)

Anyway , the site is really good and a credit to you that you have managed to gather so many lyrics and in so many languages. I am a songwriter from here in Cork ,you have my song 'The Curra road' as sung by Karan Casey on her album didtant shore , which I was truly delighted with .I was thrilled that Karan recorded that and just to let you know that I have it on my second of 3 albums of song "Ragged Ground" but a few words are different , thats the nature of folk music and great to see how people put their own stamp on it . so, keep up the good work and great to see song gathering is alive and well in cyberspace !!, Ger.
