from nowhere,& took everyone by suprise.....Some people have all the "good fortune". I guess he was just in the right place at the right time. I think he left the textiles industry a very wealthy man and just "tinkered" with this studio in NYC for a few weeks, and VOILIA! Instant media recognition! Actually, the textiles industry story I heard was really a rumor. Alan was practicing dentistry in Honduras..(..it was a very personal calling.)....when a Warner executive on vacation passed his dental hut and heard him whistling one of his creations... and we all know what happended after that......
