Hi ! We were staying at Redang Kalong in march this year and I can really recomend this place. The weather wasn´t wery good and the rooms maybe isn´t five star quality but I would say that the people working there is fantastic and I give them at least 6 star. It was never some problems and everything could be fixed. We all thought that the food was great. Kalong has it´s own beach and if you want to go to another beach it took only 10-15 minutes. Since the place isn´t extremly big it was a friendly atmosphere and the people staying there were from all over the world. Hi, what a great site you have here. Plenty of useful information both on the island's resort & also of it's surrounding waters. I haven't visited Redang island before. I had just came back from Damai Puri Beach Resort & Spa in Kuching, Serawak & had a great weekend vacation over there. I am planning my next vacation to visit Redang Island within this year & I will surely use all those information in this webbie for my future reference & come out with a package plan. I went to Redang Island in August 2008, stayed at Redang Beach Resort (RBR). There was a misunderstanding the 1st day when my group and I had inadvertently awaited at Merang Jetty before going to the island and ended up boarding the resort's boat packed with foodstuff (The Resort provides ferry transfer from Syahbandar Jetty actually! ...my mistake!!). Yet it was rather an enjoyable boat trip (Thanks to the resort staff & the boatmen). For the new RBR guests, please ensure which jetty to wait before departing to the island. My family of 6(4 teenage chidren+2 adults) stayed in April 2008 & we all had an amazing time. Being able to snorkel from the beach is great. Stayed at Laguna which was beautiful in all ways. Dont like the "packages", would prefer to pay for rooms & decide where to eat each night, also the set snorkelling trips, would prefer not so much order to our stay. My girlfriend and I went to Redang in April and spent 4 days there. We really enjoyed ourselves. Staff in Redang Kalong is really friendly and the environment is tranquil and peaceful, and the underwater is fantastic! We had fun in Marine Park feeding hungry fishes. However, we still prefer some other destinations around the island to the crowded Marine Park. Anyway, there is no place in Redang that is disappointing. The mini pre-honey moon is great! i've just visited Redang Island recently for my PADI Open Water Diver Course from the 7th to 10th of April 2008. It's been very pleasant and the view underwater was fantastic! Hope you can put in more photos of deep sea adventure dives or wreck dives, because I was made to understand that there are a few old wrecks lying around the island. We have friends in Malaysia which we long to visit. The last time we were there we swam around the marine park, that was awsome for my family. My daughter really enjoyed herself. Although the trip from Canada is quite long I will be back to visit again very soon. Malaysia is a beautiful country and has the best of everything, except snow. I really hate snow. Just got back from this amazing island. Stayed at Coral Beach which was great. Island is beautiful – sand white, sea crystal and warm, people very friendly and happy to have you visit. Only one thing I would say was negative was the music from the hotels at night – why so loud? Surely they do not need to blast it out in paradise? Otherwise this is truly my sort of paradise. Diving excellent and the dive operation at the Coral was second to none – brilliant, knowledgeable staff who care about the island and the sea. Thanks to this site we discovered a gem in Redang Island. We stayed at Laguna Redang. Hats off to them for running a superb service.Excellent service. The reefs are unbelievable. Inhabitated by a mass of colorful fish of all sizes. Had a ball handfeeding hundreds of fish. Unforgettable experience. I am already planning for next trip there. Needless to say, my trip to Redang was amazing and memorable (26-29 Mac 2007). In fact, I've made my decision to make it an annual event to visit Redang ( despite being so tanned after the trip!! ) This website has been so very helpful and provides all the necessary information needed. It made my planning easier and know what to expect. N best of all, it's up to date!! Once I set foot there,I was so reluctant to go home. So yes, Redang is officially my second home. I really enjoy reading this site. Thanks for the wonderful info. Well, I went to Redang last year Mar during the school holiday. Before the trip, I told myself to be mentally prepared for the 10hr or so journey by coach(as I'm not used to). But guess what, the moment I reached Laguna Redang, I felt so fresh and could not wait to got to the beach. I was happy that I've already arranged for extention of my stay there.
