Comments:Well, Ann (& Alison!), what a lovely place. Whenever we are in the mood (and quite a bit at that), we put on Hamish MacBeth and slouch down on our couch with some heather ale and moan a collective sighhhh. For our 5/21/06 wedding present, our best man (from Penrith) gave us a trip to the UK whenever we want, but something has always come up. First we had to close our pub (The White Cockade Scottish Pub in Boulder Creek, Calif.) cos the property owner was going into foreclosure without telling us (but one of our ghosts hitchhiked home with us!), and then this and that, but I said, John, 2009 Scotland! No more waiting! And so we give ye fair warning, Mum! Now all we have to do is fit back into our kilts from not running around a bar and pub all day...oh dearie! Your home looks luvly, Ann. I truly hope we can come see you Summer of '09. Beannacht liat Dia, agus slainte'!

Comments:Belated thanks Ann for a wonderful stay last weekend. We truly enjoyed our stay at Heron's Flight and look forward to returning at some future date. It was also a pleasure to meet your grandson Sam and Jean-Claude and Christine, your guests from Belgium.

My only disappointment was that you wouldn't allow us to kidnap the gorgeous Ruah and take her back to Edinburgh!! Still, there's always next time!

Comments:It has always been my intention to re visit your wonderfull home. I last visited you way back and was lucky to spend a while chatting to yourself and your husband in the conservatory in the days when smoking was allowed by permisioin of the owner not the government.
Your hospitality and charm were infectious as was the scenery even thou the landscape was shrouded in misty rain.

I hope your well and i look forward to revisiting soon

kind regards

Comments:Hi Ann,
As my husband and I are planning a tour through Scotland this August I am just doing some internet research to find a place to stay for 4 to seven days and from which we can go to Skye and along parts of the west coast. The area round Plockton seems to be ideal and your B & B is very inviting. However, we have no idea whether it will be difficult to find accommodation for this time of the year. Should we book now or will it be possible to find something once we will be there?
We are looking forward to your reply.

Comments:Hi Ann

Hope you enjoyed Edinburgh - it must be fantastic coming home to Herons Flight too. Thanks for making us so welcome - felt very much at home. We would have loved Yarrow and wished we'd come to Plockton sooner and met him. Our manic doggies were excited to see us as always, and had a good sniff at our clothes that had been sat on by Sponge! We'll be keeping an eye on your website and look forward to hearing of your new companion - hope all goes well.

Thanks so much again for a short but very memorable first stay in Plockton.

Best wishes
Kath & Chris

PS Forgot to tell you Chris released a trapped wren from the creels on the little harbour just beyond Heron's Flight. Might be worth checking for trapped birds occasionally, unless the owner could be asked to leave the creels open.

Comments:Dear Ann,
Thank you for your wonderful hospitality, we have just returned home after a wonderful stay at Heron's Flight. It was our first visit, but hopefully wil not be our last! Our bedroom had the most wonderful views of Loch Carron, it was almost like waking up on a ship!
Your breakfasts were wonderful, and the advice you gave us on trips in the area, was invaluable. We shall never forget our trip to Applecross, with such stunning views.
As many guests before us have said, Plockton just has to be the most beautiful village in Scotland!
We hope to see you again before too long.
Best wishes,
Fiona & Bob

Comments:Dear Ann
We've decided to drop you a wee line since we forgot to sign your visitor's book last week. Unfortunately it's back to the grind for all for of us but we won't be forgetting the peace and beauty of Plockton, your beautiful house, the views of the loch from the comfy sofas in front of the window, Sponge - Scotland's fattest and probably luckiest cat, and your welcoming and vivacious hospitality. We met a few nice landladies on our too short, whistlestop tour of Scotland (and one terrible landlord from Thurso but we won't mention any names) though we can honestly say that Heron's Flight and yourself come top of the list and we're so happy we found you. Unfortunately we only had the one night with you but for the Italians amongst us it was love at first sight on seeing Plockton (the Scot already knew and loved it) and I think it's safe to say that we'll be back, and the next time for longer.

We'll send a few photies when we've had the chance to look at them properly but in the meantime this one of the boys at Neist Point on Skye should raise a smile!!! (i'll send it to the gallery page)

thanks so much

Comments:Hello Ann,
It is with tears in our eyes and lumps in our throat as we remember our wonderful but brief time spent with you this summer. Your hospitality and the special little things you did for us was so lovely. I know that this is how you welcome all your guests into your home. We remember Yarrow, Sponge and Checkers and of course Sam. How did Sam go with mastering the throwing of the boomerang?
Plockton remains precious in our memory of our Scotland Holiday. Herron's Flight is truly the gem in the crown.
With fond regards from Perth, Western Australia

Comments:hello ann,

approximately 2 weeks ago, karl, manfred, my father and i finally reached our beloved bavaria! not one bike broke and luckily there where no dangerous driving-situation within the 3000 miles of our trip through scotland.

after having a wonderfull stay in your house we drove via applecross all along the west coast up to durness and finally hoped on the orkney islands. after very bright days there, we rode downwards (where else...) to loch ness (of course...) and had some excellent whisky's in the grampian mountains. yammi. the last day we visited edinburgh castle and the britannia. the 'queen of scandinavia' took us back to the 'continent' via a very smooth north sea. (i still thank god for this)
even on the last day of our trip we where quite lucky. we could do all the distance from amsterdam to our hometowns within one day and we where not confronted with crowded highways or jams.

so at the end we can say we'll never forget this marvellous trip through scotland and you did a great contribution according to this! thanks a lot and of course we're very proud of the nice foto from us on your homepage!

best wishes from bavaria!

Comments:Hello Ann,
What a nice website you have !
I'm back to Paris missing Plockton very much. The road from Plockton to Newcastle via Perth and Edinburgh was very nice but a little long (8 hours)!. My daughter Cécile has found again her room at St Mary's College in NCL and is ready for a new term after such wonderful holidays in Scotland.
I will send you photos in a few days.
Best regards

Comments:Hi Lou LaMontia,
This is Alison, Ann's sister-in-law! But alas, I'm not the "Allison MacKenzie from Plockton" that you heard on the Tom Morton Show. But thanks for telling us about the webcam at Dornie. I've just added it to the website, in the "About the Region" page. It is a stunning view today, with snow still on the mountains behind Eilean Donan Castle. I so wish I was in Plockton, and so there to see it, especially since Ann has her young granddaughter Catriona, with her at present.
All the best, and keep watching!

Comments:Hi Ann!

Was just listening to the Tom Morton Show on BBC Radio Scotland and heard that Allison MacKenzie from Plockton won one of the contests on today's show. Would that be your sister-in-law?? Everyday, when I get to work, I first pull up BBC Radio Scotland, then I pull up your website and go to the local weather. Once I have those established I go to the new live webcam at Dornie. I leave these on all day - keeps me a little connected to Scotland and helps get through the day. It's fun to keep in contact from 5,000 miles away! You've begun you new season by now, I'm sure. Hope all goes well for you. Wish we could be there; hopefully next year.

Take care.
Lou

Comments:My husband and I stayed at Heron's Flight for four days at the end of August/beginning of September and had the most wonderful time!
Fabulous hearty breakfasts, different daily, and served by Ann with her cheery smile and comments on the day's activities.
We travelled to Skye twice and once across the famous Applecross pass, ate fantastic food and saw scenery to die for. Even the weather wasn't too bad despite the torrential rain on arival!
Plockto is an oasis of peace and calm in this mad world we live in - we will definitely reurn. Thank you!

Comments:Hi Ann,

We're getting excited over here in Estes Park, Colorado, USA. Will be leaving for Scotland and Heron's Flight in a week and a half. So happy to be coming to stay with you again! We know your family will be there at the same time so just give us a cozy, out-of-the-way corner with Yarrow and we'll be fine. I'll try my best not to break my arm this time. See you soon.

Lou

The weather was absolutely magnificient - basking in the sun is just a memory now. We look forward to seeing you, Yarrow & Sponge again, hopefully sooner than later. You never know perhaps we can visit twice a year instead of once. We live in hope.
Take care and see you soon
