I am very pleased to see this website which in my opinion very useful for understanding the basic principles of islam. I was looking for a website which should be simple and helpful for someone who want to know basics of islam. I will recommend this website to non-muslim and new muslim as well.

Thank you for a wonderful site. I am a Christian [Presbyterian / Church of Scotland] who has many relatives who are Baha'i, in-laws who are Muslim, cousins who are Jewish, and just about any Christian denomination you can think of in my family and friends [including Catholic and Mormon cousins].

Your site is well thought out, easy to use, and extremely clear in understanding. It is a great resource for me as one who appreciates the beauty of God's faith in all its many manifestations. I'll be recommending it to all my relatives and friends.

I have been in a relationship with a Muslim for several months now, and being baptised a Christian (but not practising), I was very ignorant to the beliefs of Muslims. However, I soon learnt that I had such fascination in it, that I had to learn more. This website has been absolutely wonderful. FF ayee. Try looking at **deleted by guestbook owner - don't advertise anti-Islamic sites here**, etc where his followers are creating loads of links. Your (quality) contributions would help.
Second, You have listed all those issues that are very very relevant for a new muslim. Even for a born again muslim. Many new entrants in the faith easily fall into sects due to their biased understanding. You site address it implicitly and yet very very clearly and simply.
Thank you for this kind of insight. MAy Allaah bless you and protect you from fame, ego, self praise, and may he protect you from ever feeling good about yourself in terms of knowledge and achieving it. Hello again, after following your link to answering-christinaity.com, frankly I'm surpirsed you have it listed here your site is well though out and designed whereas the the other is disorganized and offensive to christians, muslims and everyone else it just looks like a bunch of folks ranting angrily at each other and did not help illuminate Islamic answers to Christianity.

Great site for learning the basics about islam, however I must tell you under the Your Money section you use this example: for instance, if you buy a house with a standard mortgage, you'll end up paying twice its value! Would you want to pay £100,000 for something that is only worth £50,000? Of course not! which makes little sense if you look at how a mortgage actually works, that is a mortgage is dependent upon the idea of present & future values of a property not just present value. In other words rising inflation and property value increases due to local economic factors make the value of the loan different from day to day, it would be nice if one could purchase a house in cash today at it's present value but how many of us can really do that? For us in the US it's a necessity unless the government goes socialist.

Fantastic work... I am so happy to have found it... I had converted to Islam years back but haven't really embraced my new religion as I should... specially because of my difficulties learning Arabic or memorizing the different suras and how to pray... I am sorry to say that I am still not able to perform that important part of Islam and therefore feel as not a complete muslim... I was happy to find your web page... you use simple language to guide people through... you make me feel like you are a "normal" person and make it look very easy indeed to learn how to pray... Hi there,
I'm from Northern Ireland which you probably know has been conflict - torn for over 30 years in modern times. It is 'Dead on' (fine, as it means in Northern Ireland) and there is not much trouble where I live, which is obviously good. I got on well with all faiths when I was at University a few years ago in Liverpool, England. Anyway, I don't mean to bring this subject up from the ashes again,and i'm not into violence etc. but I came across the following I will copy onto this site and it is freaky! especially the end.

1) New York City has 11 letters
2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.
3) Ramsin Yuseb (The terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) has 11 letters.
4) George W Bush has 11 letters.

This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets more interesting:

1) New York is the 11th state.
2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number 11.
3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11
4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers. 6+5 = 11
5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1 + 1 = 11
6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911. 9 + 1 + 1 = 11.

Sheer coincidence..?! Read on and make up your own mind:

1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was 254. 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year. Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.
4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident.

Now this is where things get totally eerie:

The most recognised symbol for the US, after the Stars and Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Quran, the Islamic holy book:

"For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle.The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace."

That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran.

(NOTE FROM AMIR... verse 9:11 doesn't read like that at all, it actually says "But if they repent, offer prayers perfectly and give Zakat, then they are your brethren in religion. We explain the verses in detail for people who know.")

Still uncovinced about all of this..?! Try this and see how you feel afterwards, it made my hair stand on end:

Open Microsoft Word and do the following:

1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.
2. Highlight the Q33 NY.
3. Change the font size to 48.
4. Change the actual font to WINGDINGS

I days like these when Islam is under question and people fear the unknown, this site answers the questions they need to know.It gives insight into a misunderstood religion.
People who only know Islam via the media stories should use this wensite to give them a better understanding, only then shall their fears be squashed.
