| Comments: | This is the dearest and sweetest tribute I have seen to our "boy." After Elvis passed, there were several of his songs I couldn't listen to without breaking into tears and "Loving You" was one of them.It seemed to say it all.
Monday Aug 15 1977, we drove to Vegas.We had reservations to see Ann-Margret at the Hilton. The next day walking thru the lobby we heard a woman on the phone scream out the terrible news. We rushed to our TV with a gnawing fear in our hearts. And there it was on every channel. Unbelievable.
For many months, Las Vegas had been in a drought situation but on that day, it started to rain. And it rained and rained, even started to flood.The newscasters were caught up in the drama and said "Each raindrop is just one more person crying for Elvis."
Needless to say, we didn't see Ann-Margret. She left immediately for Memphis. The Hilton became ghost-like. We wanted to leave so badly and take our broken hearts home but the hi-way was washed out between there and LA. So we were forced to stay at the ghostly Hilton for 2 more days. I wish we hadn't been there when he left us. It was many years before we could go back again. And that was to see "Elvis The Concert" at the Hilton.
Yes, we'll spend our whole lives thru loving you, just loving you, Elvis.
