| Comments: | I am so sorry but I forgot some very important info in my last entry. I forgot to tell you that Tamara will be taking radiation. She is not sure just when this will start though.
Tamara is taking DEXAMETHASON for the fluid in her head. This help prevent those severe headaches she has been having. Thank God for medicine when you really need it.
Tamara is also on Insulin too.She is injecting the insulin on her own now. I am so very proud of her because if you remember from my other entries....Tamara has a horror of needles. But she had no choice in the matter. She is also checking her sugar everyday by sticking her finger.
Tamara is on oxygen for now. I hope she will be able to do this at home if she needs too.Tamara also told me that the swelling of the tumor has gone down from what it was at the beginning. Praise God for that.
I hope I have remembered to tell you everything this time. If not.....I WILL BE BACK.
One more thing....I put this very same thing in the Guest Book last night. It showed I entered it correctly BUT for the life of me I can't find it. SO if you see this 2 times......please excuse me for this.

I forgot to mention a very important fact....Tamara will be taking radition, we just don't know when this will start though.

I have sad news to tell you. If any of you have not read in the guest book where Tamara's brother (Lars) request for good wishes for his sister while she was in the hospital the first time AND also my reply to Lars where I joined him in wishing Tamara well and then told everyone what was wrong with Tamara and then later... my pray for her as well, this will come as a shock to you.
For the ones that have already read about Tamara.....there is still more sad information about Tamara.
Now even the ones that read Lars's and my entry in the Guest Book may or may now know the latest. I am so sorry to have to tell you more. If I had a way of contacting all of you I would have been updating you all this time right along with all of my friends AND internet friends, my family, and friends that Tamara and I share for from a MyFamily Website we had for years. We all now stay in touch through a Yahoo Group List.
If any of you would like to be added to my updates please email me at my email address above and I will add you. I will gladly but sadly add you. The NEXT time I update my list, you will receive an update as well.
Tamara and I said our good nights to each other on the this past Wednesday the 20th. She was having trouble breathing and had to have a fan blowing on her. This seemed to help her breath better. I had no idea that the next time we spoke would be from her hospital bed again so soon.
Now as I mentioned....even the people that read Lars's and my entry in the Guest Book may not even know this..
Tamara was diagnosed having Diabetes around Jan 23, 08. Then later that week they found a brain tumor. They had planned on doing surgery but first they wanted to run other test and also a PET scan and, because of something the doctor seen oh Tamara's lung...... lung ex-rays as well.
Tamara was to go back to see the lung doctor this past Thursday..Feb 21, 08 to find out the test results from the Pet Scan AND about her lungs. Well she saw him a day sooner ! Because after we had said our good night on the 20th she was rushed by ambulance to the hospital. She was having trouble catching her breath and she was also chocking.
They found cancer in her lungs also. There will be no brain tumor surgery. This was Tamara's choice. Tamara has Stage 4 cancer.
I am having such a time typing this, everyone. Tamara is my best friend.... My VERY BEST friend. She has been through so much in a very short time.
Her vocal cords have been damaged from tubes being pushed down her throat. She sounds so bad, my_friends. For way over a week now she hasn't spoken above a very low whisper. It's been hard hearing and understand her BUT...I have.
I though maybe typing by Instant Messenger would be easier for her BUT....her eyes have suffered from all of this as well. She has worn sun glasses inside for way over a month now and even with the sunglasses she still has a very hard time seeing. Her vision is very bad. God love her, she really has been through it. It has gone from BAD to WORSE.
Tamara said to me yesterday on her cell phone from the hospital that her cancer is the same type that killed Bert (her husband) just 4 years ago on Christmas Day. Melanoma cancer. That's the fast spreading kind, I do believe.
I am so sorry to have to give you such sad news about Tamara but I felt you deserved to know. Tamara is fighting for her life. She may be weak as a kitten from all of this BUT she is still very strong willed and strong minded. She said she was not about to let this take her. NOT with out a fight.
Listen, my_friends....DOCTORS......DOES NOT HAVE the last word...GOD DOES ! And Tamara knows and believes this. Tamara is also STRONG in her FAITH !
Tamara said she wants to get OUT of the hospital and get on with her life. She said that being in the hospital was only holding her back. She wants to live her life to the fullest. She wants do so many things. She is talking of selling her house and getting something smaller. Now "ME" ..personally I think she should not be alone. She promised me she would give this some serious thought.
When Tamara found out she had Stage 4 Melanoma cancer, one of the first things she mentioned was she was going to cross that ocean with Doortje (her daughter) and come see me. She has planned this for years. Also we have planned on going to "GRACELAND." This has been a life long dream of Tamara's. She is still counting on this.
Now I want to see Tamara face to face more than anything in this world BUT, I mentioned to her that I was scared for her to make this trip. It might not be the best thing for her. BUT she is determined to do so. She said as soon as she gets stronger and is able to travel she WILL be crossing that ocean. God this is so hard !!!

Mean while please be in some serious prayer for our very on Tamara Lefers. Tamara is and always has been and always will be....."My Little Dutch Doll." She is the sweetest and most kindest, and most giving of herself person than anyone I have "EVER" know.
Tamara I love you, my precious friend. I love you so much and you know my heart is with you. I am with you in spirit holding your hand this very moment. I am always praying for you regardless of what I am doing. I am her for you, Sweety. Always !!!!!! God loves you and HE will "not" forsake you.

I most definitely want to join you in this.
Tamara and I go back a long way. I believe we met on the internet in 1999. We took right up with each other. We not only exchanged email but we went to audio. She knows more about me that I do, I do believe. I know all about her life and family as well. My husband just adores her too.
Tamara is my best and dearest friend. I mean each and every word of that too.
You could say that Tamara and I have spend each and every day together since we first me. OR very close to it.
I was with her when Bert passed away. We have been through some bad times as well as good times together.
Everyone if you don't know much about Tamara other than by her beautiful pages she has built for years and years for anelvisfan and also theroadlesstraveled...well let me tell you something....once you make friends with Tamara you have a friend for life. And her life is what were are talking about right now too.
Tamara has "always" been a very strong woman in body and in mind. But now she is about as weak as a kitten.
Tamara has never been one to ask for help either. She has "always" done for others and has never asked for anything in return. She has "always" done for herself especially after her precious Bert passed away. Before that Bert was the one that done for her. They had (to me anyway) a perfect loving marriage.
Tamara has now been brought to her knees. She was so sick, so wobbly and in so much pain she literally had to crawl. I heard all of this, my_friends. I heard this over my headset. I told you we are close.
I suppose if it had not have been for her being diagnosed with Diabetes a few weeks back they might have never found this brain tumor. Because Tamara is not one to complain about aches or pains.
She literally has not been to see a doctor for herself, I guess since Doortje (her one and only child, her daughter) was born. Doortje will soon be 27. She was born in 1981. THAT is how long it has been since Tamara has seen a doctor for herself. So if it had not been for being down with her diabetes this just might have claimed her life. But now she has a very good chance. They may have cought it in plenty of time. We are claiming it anyway.
Tamara has always, for as long as I have know her....had a headache every day of her life. She told me that she had just learned to live with it and.... taking Ibuprofen to ease the pain somewhat. She has "never" been one to take any kind of medicine either.
Her headaches became so much stronger in the past 6 weeks or more until Monday night of last week she was in bed and her head got to hurting so bad she cried. Crying is not one of Tamara's show and tells either. God love her.
So she was taken to the hospital. This is when they found the tumor. She had an appointment with a eye specialist on that following Wednesday. He found the fluif behind her eyes and sent her straight to a neuroligist and he admitted her to the hospital.
Before the tumor was discovered and they found the diabetes her sugar was 17. It came down slowly to 12, then back up to 13.8. I am not keen on just what is good and what is not but I understand that 7 is a good number. So see her's was extremely high. Also her blood pressure was at the time 200/100. VERY high. A week or so ago it was down to 150/80. Still high but oh so much better.
Tamara has been through so much. It has affected her eyes, her balance, her walking and sometimes her thinking. Even her ability to dress herself at times. One day she can, the next she can't.
She has fluid behind her eyes. This and the tumor has brought her to where she is now.
They say right now the tumor is small and located behind her head. The location is easily accessed.
Tamara is home right now resting and will be going back into the hospital on Jan 27, at 8:00 PM her time. They will then do more scans and test. Then she will meet with the Neuro Surgeon and set a date for her surgery. They also want to make sure there is not any more tumors elsewhere through her body.
So YES, Lars I am with you on wishing your sister well and a speedy recovery. Tamara has too AND will beat this. She has a very strong positive attitude about this. She is scared but her positive attitude will get her through this along with lots of prayer and support from "all" of her online and off line friends.
SO......Tamara, my dearest friend in the whole wide world I want you to know that if I can't be there in person for you I definitely will be there in spirit holding your hand and praying for you all the way.
You have been my lifeline for so many years, Tamara. It is time I give you all the help I can AND I will, my_friend. I will always cherish our friendship. Too be here for you. Hold your hand and walk every step of the way through this WITH you.... AND you "will" beat it, my_friend. You will. With God's help and all the love out here for you, you will beat it.
Our most Gracious Heavenly Father,
I come to you tonight lifting Tamara up in prayer to You.
Father you know exactly what is wrong with Tamara. You also have your reasons. You have reasons for everything You do. Reason that we selfish people just don't understand.
I know that You will sometimes bring people to their knees in pain in some way or the other in order to get them to turn to You. To give all their cares to You. To completely give their all to You and trust only in You.
I am not saying this is what You did to Tamara. Please Father in Heaven know I don't mean that.
So Father in Heaven We ask in the name of your precious Son's name Jesus to touch Tamara and heal her body from head to toe. Make her whole again, Father.
Father You say in Your word that You do not give us a spirit of fear but of power and strength. Father we are weak minded people and in the sinful flesh and I am sure Tamara is weak at this time as well. So Father please in the name of Jesus give Tamara strength and calm her fears.
Father be with her family at this time as well. Strengthen them and help them to be strong for Tamara. Calm their fears as well.
Father I am asking this for me as well. Only You, Father know how I feel about your child Tamara. So please touch me and give me strength so I can be there for my friend. I am very, very weak at this time.
Father I know Tamara is in the best hands at this time. She is in Your hands. There is no better place to be than with You.
Father I also ask of You to guide the surgeon's hands and minds as they litterally hold Tamara's life in their hands. They can do nothing without You and as You say in your word....All things are possible with God. So Father carefully guide them. Steady their hands. Help then to get every piece of that tumor. In Jesus name we ask these things.
Father when Tamara's body is healed all honor and glory is Yours.

| Comments: | I attended the funeral of a dear & cherished friend on August 16th 1977. I returned to my car and decided to turn on the radio to try to cheer myself up and what I heard only made me bluer.... "No...no my friends; this is not some cruel joke; the King is dead"!
I had been so involved in losing a very loving, caring family friend to cancer that I hadn't turned on a radio or television all day. I had also tried to get out of my funk because another loving, caring friend had a birthday on the 17th and I had to go spend the day at her house.
The loss of the man who will never be replaced in the world of music was so overwhelming I had to sit there in front of my church in my car for a good ten minutes before I could drive away. Your site is fabulous and I return to it every chance I get. Thank you for creating it. |

| Comments: | lISA THIS IS JUST BEAUTIFUL. I AM 63 AND I LOST MY DAD WHEN I WAS 10 YEARS OLD. MY MOM HAD 3 GIRLS WITH MY DAD, AND NEVER REMARRIED AFTER HE PASSED.
I REMEMBER LAYING IN BED CRYING FOR HIM. HE WAS MY BEST BUDDY, AND I LOVED HIM. I USE TO LOOK FOR HIM ON THE STREET WHEN WALKING, OR ON THE BUS. THIS HAPPEND FOR QUITE A WHILE. I NEVER GO OVER LOSING HIM.
I LOVE MY MOM VERY MUCH AND SHE IS 93 GOING ON 94 STILL
HOLDING HER OWN. SHE IS A GREAT MOTHER, ALWAYS PUT HER
GIRLS FIRST.
YOUR FATHER WAS MY FAVORITE INTERTAINER OF ALL TIME.
HIS VOICE IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND WHEN I HEARD YOUR MUSIC,
I LIKED IT BUT SOMETHING WAS MISSING.
SINCE I HEARD THIS SONG YOU SANG WITH YOUR FATHER, I
DO THINK YOU HAVE ACQUIRED HIS GIFT.
PEOPLE OF MY GENERATION NEED UPLIFING NOW; IT WOULD BE
SO WONDERFUL IF YOU COULD RECORD SOME OF YOUR DAD'S SONGS,
