| Comments: | It was so hard to read your story. I am so sorry for your loss. I also lost a little boy do to doctor negligence. He passed away on February 26, 2000. Zachary was 6 months old when they found his heart defect. The doctor who found it said that my sons doctor must have had his stethescope on backwards if he didn't hear the murmur. | Comments: | My own son(Tanner) was born with heart defects, and I m greatful to God to say that Tanner is a survivor. We went thru pure Hell with him, and one thing I learned is that as a mother I am my childs voice...A wonderful nurse who happens to be my Aunt was my lifeline...She told me dozens of times that if I was unsure of a Drs. advice, to not accept what the Dr. said...She told me that I was my sons only advocate, his voice...And the best suggestion she ever had was, "what does your gut tell you? You know better than any Dr. Trust your gut." She was right and played a very important role in the survival of my son, and keeping me sane.
I know the anguish I felt in watching my son come so close to death, I simply cannot comprehend your pain, anguish, and frusteration. Please know that you are in my prayers. Suzy Mom to Tanner, 18 months. Born with 2 Ventricular Septal Defects, Patent Ductus Arteriosis, Patenty foramen Ovale(ALL HEART DEFECTS), and a clubfoot. |

| Comments: | This is a wonderful site. It made me cry. I must tell you I have almost the same story as you. I was even labeled a paranoid mother by a cardologist. Saying I was putting my daughter through unnessacery testing and said she was a healthy baby. 11 day after that she was dying in the ICU... 5 weeks later she died of Pulmonary Hypertension.
I am sorry you had to go all that... no mother should. I believe that doctors should listen to the mother's gut feelings... we are mothers and we do know. My daughter ped was great and he isn't at fault it was the Children's ER and the cardologist that told me there was nothing wrong with my daughter. I fought with them for 7 weeks before she was put in the hospital... I am glad I am not the only one that believes doctors should listen. Sorry to ramble on. Your son was so beautiful and the services sounds wonderful too. We had our daughter cremated too. I wish you the best of luck in the future. Mommy to Angel Jocelyn April 6 - July 20, 2001 |
