Liz Thursday, April 8th 2004 - 09:50:00 AM savedbypenguins@yahoo.com Hi! I'm a college student at PLU (in Tacoma), who decided for some reason or other that I need to write a piece of rather long historical fiction set around the time of Captain Morgan's escapades. Well, ok, during Captain Morgan's escapades. Needless to say, I was thrilled to come across your site. If you have any further resources that you think would be helpful (and that you want to send my way) I'd love the information. Also, I am hoping to incorporate chanteys in my story, so if there's any specific way you would like me to document any information I take from your site (or if you want me to keep my hands off it), do tell and I'll do everything I can. Thanks for a great site! I'm thrilled to have found it! ~Liz

Uwe Muche Saturday, July 13th 2002 - 06:36:13 AM uMuche@web.de Hi Anitra! My name is Uwe Muche I am singing in a shanty-choir in the small village of Gelting, situated in the utmost northern part of Germany right at the danish border by the shores of the baltic sea. We are keen on singing the more authentic traditional shantys and seasongs rather than the "sailor-ish" stuff mostly associatet with shantys in the public around here. We keep in contact with fellow shantymen from Norway, Danmark, The Netherlands, England and all over the northern part of Germany. So I'm always on the search for new songs and lyrics, and I'm always surprised about the many differend versions you can find of a particular song. So I'm happy to find Your site in my search through the web. Great work! keep on! Best wishes! Uwe

Jay Crandall Saturday, April 13th 2002 - 05:18:09 PM ursismajor@peoplepc.com Hi Anitra! My name is Jay Crandall and I'm a AB Seaman from Everett, WA. While reading your chanteys(Outstanding, bye the bye!)In paticular "Highland Laddie", I realized that I'd heard a different version of it in SF- Called "Riding on a donkey" I'm afraid it was a much more "Sailor-ish" song,(read rude), but it was sang on board the Golden Hind, a replica of Francis Drake's ship, by the crew, along with some other chanteys. Let me know if you want it and I'll send it your way- I'll be heading back to sea soon tho,so let me know! Bye!
