I think that people hurt other people, because they hate life; they are cowards, and in truth they want to hurt them selves, because they hurt. Not that it is any better. Yet they are afraid to hurt them selves so they hurt others. I have experienced pain in all sorts of levels in life, and like I said before I love life and the humans that I share it with, and I do not want to hurt the smallest cockroach. I am no coward, and no matter how much pain I feel that is my burden to carry. I hope that some how we (humans) can learn to help each other in life to live happier, more productive lives without fearing each other. Good luck, cause we all need it. |

It just amazes me that ppl can do that to other human beings just because they don't like them. There are so many other things they can do then to shoot them. It brought tears to my eyes everytime I saw it on the news. To see how many lost their lives because of those 2 boys. | Comments: | I am not a student and haven't been for many years. I was a loner and suffered from bullying when I was in school. I never killed anyone. The thought never entered my mind. By observing today's parents, I feel alot of the problem lies wtih them. They try to be friends with their children instead of parents. They also let their children watch horror and violent movies and also wrestling from a very early age when children are too young to distinguish fantasy from reality. They also allow their children to play too many video games instead of interacting with other children. Spending too much time alone, doesn't allow one to learn how to live with one another. Many parents are also too busy with their own lives, to really pay attention to their children. Too many children grow up without fathers and more importantly without God.
Going by some of the spelling in the comments, maybe students should spend more time studying than worrying what another student thinks. I do feel that adults should pay more attention to the students who are bullied and help put a stop to it. No student should have to put up with that torture. Those who are the bullies should be punished. By the way, there were firearms in my home since I was quite young. None of my brothers and sisters or I, ever touched them. We were taught the word no from a very early age and abided by it. I am now 46, and with all the things I've been through in my life I still have never ever thought of killing someone. I feel sorry for those growing up today to have that much hate inside them to make them feel this way. All I can say is if you are anywhere near this point seek help. A parent, a teacher, a police officer, a friend find someone. Once you pull that trigger, there is no turning back. Once you've taken a life it can never be returned. Try turning to God. He has gotten me through some very tough times. |

shootings and I think that they are caused by kids getting teased and tormented. Then all they have in them is rage. | Comments: | first off I want to say to you, what have you done to
prevent school shootings. If you are a popular person (don't get me wrong i am friends with many), do you sit with a lonely boy or girl at lunch? Do you try to help and try not to make fun of people. If you do than go you, but if you have then think about it the next one to be shot could be you because you taunted someone. Im not saying that its just popular people who do this cuz thats not the case, but think about doing a nice gesture. Accept people and they most often will accept you. Dont' take me wrong, i am as against School Violence as any one but think of who it is to blame, think of how it must feel to be so driven over the edge by someone (or a group) that you would want to kill... think about it........ |

shooting at their school or bringing any type of weapon to school to think about how many inoccent teachers and students that they will kill or put in critical condition. Some people,like me, aren't worryed about someone in school pulling out a gun just because they can't cope with their problems like everyone else has to, and if it's for attention you'll get lots of attention from the news and the watchers thinking how stupid some teen must be to do such a thing, and giving other teens a bad name.I would also like teachers to talk to their students about school shootings because it might just stop some teens from making wrong decisions in the future.-Vanessa |

But I understand what they went through. Being bullied really hurts, and not just physically. People tease you for something you haven't done. Juz coz you're shy or different from them. Maybe those 2 kids juz finally snapped coz they couldn't take it anymore. That's why people need to be more aware that other people, even if they're unpopular, have feelings too and if you try being at their shoes, you might find out how awful being tormented can be. A lot of the time, the bullied victims don't want attention, they juz want to be left alone and recognized as a person, an individual, rather than someone to be made fun of. Its hard not to judge people from their looks,appearances, social skills but it is very discriminate if you tease me because of that. We need to recognize that by bullying we can cause a person's self-esteem to plummet and this can often lead to problems in the future. Maybe if we try to be a little nicer, try to befriend loners, and get the troubled kids some help, and most importantly to stop harrassing them, maybe we can stop these from ever happening again-that and applying stricter gun laws!!! |

one another will solve something. Even those boys in Colorado wanted attention, and guess what - they got it and now others are going the same way. Even in ny school, one boy got teased so much that he tried to stab another boy with a palr of scissors. It's ridiculous. People have such low self-esteem, and they go to extremes to get notice. They have to grow up. Everyone gets teased at one point or another, but many tease others because they have a low self-esteem. OK love ya all. Bye. |

the excuse, "I was bullied" makes you a very weak minded individual. That is the biggest copout. I love this website and I have only been on it for a few minutes. I think that this website shows how much maturity teens have now and days and that we are not all as domented and stupid as people like Dylan Clebold and Eric Harris. people I do understand what these people are going through. I do know from personal experience that its not that easy to just ignore people who make fun of you, its hard to walk away and say "words will never hurt me" because I think we all know that words do hurt and they stay with you, beeing made fun of and picked on is not something you ever forget and I belive its just a matter of time before you snap. Im lucky because I have a good group of friends to fall back on when I get mad fun of, but it still doesent make it hurt less, some days im able to ignore the comments about my weight and just laugh it off, but other days its not that easy, somedays I get really angery and I want to do something so bad. But in my heart I know that by killing the people who make fun of me wont slove anything, i would just be stepping down to there level. Its taken alot of time but Ive finaly started to feel good about myself and excepted myself for who I am..and I know deep down that there is nothing wrong with me, I have even started to let go of the anger and hate I feel towords the people who harassed me. Shooting anyone wont solve anything its just going to make things alot worse, I hope by sharing my story ive helped some people make the right choise. |

long time. However, to clear a few things up. Although taking guns to school, and blowing everyone up is wrong, I do understand where they are coming from. I had thoughts of doing that, too. However, I did not. Realize, once high school is over, you'll probably never see those people ever again. Also, its the killing of INNOCENT people that bugs me most. I mean, if it was just the jerks that torment them everyday, thats one thing..but when they go shooting randomly, hurting and killing ppl who they don't even know. Example, Colubine high school..Cassie got her head blew off because she said she believed in God. What grounds does that have, because that person was picked on? NONE! The argument may be, "Where is God? If God was real, he wouldn't let this happen to me." Newsflash. God NEVER said life would be perfect. Life is full of troubles and trials. EVERYONE goes thru them. Everyone gets picked on, sometime in their life. Bill Gates, richest man in the world..he doesn't even have it easy. He's constantly having ppl harassing him..the government..but, I don't see him going to washington dc, and blowing away a few senators..although, that would only be doing the usa a favor. I created SASS to help those who do school shootings, and perhaps offer some hope behind the violence..as well as help keep the school atmosphere friendly. I just heard that he is being tried as an adult. I find this to be ridiculous and reprehensible. THe kid should NOT go to jail, and should NOT be tried as an adult. HE is a small, wimpy little disturbed child. Putting him in prison is the WRONG thing to do. THe kid needs to be in a psychiatric lockdown, not an adult jail. He was picked on relentlessly. What did the schoool do about it? Nothing. Nothing at all. You know what I say about that? Oh well. People are so surprised when a school gets shot up. When I child does something soterrible, but they aren't there to stop the severe psychological peer torure that these kids go through. I'm glad that this stuff is happening. I feel bad for the parent of the kids shot a columbine, but still, I see it as a wake up call. To all you people who sit out there crying and says oh god, how could this happen" wake up.The way kids are treated in schools by their peers, and the way certain kids are held up by the school and treated differently because they may be athletes, or may be more popular brings this stuff on. The people I went to school with are lucky my punk rock ass had a girlfriend and parent that loved me at tthe time, or else the skinheads and other jock assholes who treated me like crap might have ended up smeared all over the cafeteria floor. The anger that this sort of abuse can create lasts for life. There are times where I FEEL like blowing something up still. And back in the day when I was in HS, I felt like killing people occasionally. So I say that the carnage has only begun. Banning guns wont help, as criminas dont follow laws and anyone who wants a gun can get it. If you want to stop this, you need tofind a way to have the schoool treat kids EQAULLY. Get rid of popularity contests like "HOmecoming queen" which just serves to isollate those kids who donut fit in. THe school needs more counselors who are properly trained to help kids deal with emotions, and most importantly of all, the school cannot tolerate kids picking on other kids, even verbally. Until this happens, it's only going to get worse. SO I will sit bac and watch kids snap, and watch other kids die, and I will sit here and laugh at the senselessness of it because the answer is within our reach, yet nobody wants to look at it. THe think "Incarcerate, in carcerate the prblem away" that's as laughable as trying to incarcerate the drug problem away. IT isn't gonna happen. SO go on kiddies, keep teasing the different kids. Bring it on, and smile at the and taunt them that one last time until they stick a gun in your mouth and waste your sorry asss. I hope my little posting here encourages a healthy debate and causes people to WAKE UP! |

shooters. You people sit there and you bitch and you moan about how shootings interrupt Buffy and fill you with a generally "icky" feeling. To stop shootings, you have to have compassion, you have to understand where these young gunmen are coming from. They're rejected by the mainstream because they have high IQs, because they're not jocks or don't have cliques. They're teased because they are intelligent. Try paying attention to things that are going on in your school before you start whimpering about this stuff... Notice the quite boy who's always reading and instead of slinking off to the councelor's office and telling him that you're intimidated by the fact that someone reads instead of gets drunk and passes out at Homecoming, instead of being scared, talk to him. Or just smile. Don't be a jerk, it's amazing what will happen. I believe that if the love of my life (he was a school shooter from several years back) wasn't teased and relentlessly harassed for having an above-average IQ, he'd probably be on the outside right now, we'd be together and happy, and those people would still be alive. So before you people start making assumptions about the shooters being "cold-blooded killing machines" as the mass media has ingrained into your pretty little white affluent suburb brains, try being nice and escaping your cliques for a while, stand up for the class nerd. Unless, you know, that would look bad for your image. You only want to, like, make schools safe and stuff, so long as, like, you don't really have to, like, question the status quo or whatever. Don't bother with the charade unless you are honestly willing to make things change and possibly make yourself unpopular by doing so. |
