| Comments: | Icame across this lovely peom, only minutes from having my old friend "Nick" put to sleep today; he was eighteen years old. I adopted him in a parking lot in front of the pet food supply shop, that had SPCA cats in cages, for people to adopt right there and then. I saw the ragged scarred face and the ears with the bite marks in them and then those lovely big eyes, squinting in the sunlight, and that was it. I held him, whilst traffic went by,and no sign of fear from him as he nestled in my arms and purred. I knew he was meant for me. He was ten at the time and I knew that if I didn't adopt him, no one would. Recently he got ill and nothing seemed to work for him. I remorsely said Goodbye to my old Nick and know he's in a better place. You're poem hit right to my heart and I had to post it on my yahoo 360 blog. | Comments: | Sweety, I can't possibly verbalize what this poem means to me - it is so true. After my little dog passed away suddenly at the vet's, I was in absolute, hopeless grief. I even borrowed a friend's pet for several weeks because I was so distraught. Then one rainy day, I heard a "meow" on my back porch. Strange, because I was 3 flights up! I began feeding this little black cat every day. Soon, she would come running down the alley when hearing my "trill" call. Before I knew it, I was feeding 6 alleycats and an oppossum! We all "wintered" together (except for Oppy the oppossum), and that was the beginning of twelve happy and adventuresome years. Truly, "the time we have left together" was worth all expense, even the eventual sadness of parting. I am gratefull there is someone else who would actually feel as deeply and more so enough to create this lovely site. Thank you forever, Fran |

I've worked with animals for many years, loving them mostly, adopting them, finding them homes, adopting them myself...so many...I'm weary now. I have a 15 yr old black kitty who belongs to my neighbors who won't bring him in during the cold Maine winters, so I did. He has his own very warm room, comes out during the day when I can keep an eye on him and my other kitties. Ozzie is sooo stiff with arthritis, I know, me too. We are both old and riddled with pain, but I promised him a quiet home, where he would be warm and plenty of food and clean water to enjoy whatever time he has left, and so it shall be. | Comments: | I love your website. I am a catlover and I have always had kittens and cats. I lived in an apartment awhile back where the landlord hated animals. I had to get a doctor's note for cats help with my depression. Even then the landlord did not want me to have a cat. But I got one anywhere from the animal shelter. His name was Lucky. We had him for such a short time as he got out one day and was killed by the neighbor's dog. That in itself was a horrifying day as the neighbors did nothing to stop their dogs. I watched in horror and could do nothing. I still relive that day over and over. I feel guilty that he got out. I now have a cat name Shadow. I got him at the Animal Defense League. It will be one year in June that I've had him. Now I live in a house and Shadow is my best friend. We have many stray cats that come around. I feel bad for them so I feed them. Two are female and will have kittens any time soon. Kittens that will need a good home. I pray the will get one. Your website has inspired me to start a website on my cats and other pets that I have had and have. Thank you for loving cats. I know your cat must be smiling down on you as you show the world that cats are truly like family. How can anyone not care about these lovely animals. I will never understand it! Diane |

| Comments: | I read your words and tears ran down my face. I am the luckiest person alive to have my three babies. Leo, Chelsea and Oliver. Never a day goes by that I don't laugh at their little antics. I wonder what I did with my life before I had them, because now they are my life. Each one has a wonderful story behind how I got them. A tornado tore through Leo's house as a kitten, Chelsea was abondoned at 6 weeks old in a recycling plant and Oliver was dumped behind a gas station and wounded by wild animals. Now they live a life of pure bliss that is so well deserved. These are my babies and I'm sad for your loss. Kindest wishes. Maureen |

My babies are Tigger, he is a five year old mamarlade tabby and he is all BOY. Then I have Blossom, I really do not know how old she is. I was working part time in a Vet.-clinic and ahe was hit by a car. No one claimes her so I adopted her back in 1997. She is the same size now as she was then. She is a certified therapy cat. We go and visit people in Nursing homes and assisted living centers. She is really a special little lady. Then I have lil-bit and she is my sons baby and when he joined the Air Force she came to live with Grandma. She is my talker and I love her like one of my own. Thank you for listening to me.
