Sometimes I think that the only reason I like it is because it was given to me when I was young, impressionable, and didn't understand half of the content of the story. Naturally, I was enchanted. All this history aside, I just picked up the book today for another read, and decided to check out one of the sites mentioned in the book. The first one to come to mind was, obviously, this one. You mentioned on your site that a fan of the book might be disappointed, but I'm posting this to let you know that I'm not. I think that it's a fitting site as any, better than most. | Comments: | I first started reading your Xanth novels when I was 13 (14 years ago). "A Spell for Chameleon" was the first book I had ever read in its entirety that was over 200 pages long. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I went on to read 12 novels straight. Then my "teenage years" started to kick in and I put down my reading glasses for a while, but Xanth NEVER left my mind. To this day I always wondered what new adventures were taking place. Finally, now that I'm 27 and have even LESS time than I did back then to read, I decided to revisit Xanth. Starting, of course, with "A Spell for Chameleon" and working my way back up to where I left off, "Man from Mundania", and beyond. If it weren't for you, the extent of my literacy would most likely be confined to magazines, subtitles, and installation instructions. Oh and comic books! Thanks! |

I just got a book list yesterday and I've continually been reading (very repeatedly) six out of the Xanth series for about two years. That's terrible since I'm such a huge fan but I don't get to the bookstore too often. I have Cube Route, Up in a Heaval, Spell for Chameleon, Faun and Games, Harpy Thyme, and Heaven Cent. I was just wondering about something...it says the Demon Xanth rests in a cave underneath Xanth proper. Is that in a book I read...I thought the Demon Xanth was Chimby and that he resided in a castle on a cloud that floated above Xanth. I intend to keep coming back to your site. It's great to find someone else so into Xanth. |

| Comments: | I checked online and found http://www.geocities.com/lyiantian/02.html, which has a character list although not very complete. You might also want to get a copy of the "Companions of Xanth" book, which I believe also has a character list although it's packed in a box so I can't be 100% sure right now.. (also, there have been more books written since it was published so it's not all-inclusive).. as for your other question, Xeth is the king of the zombies. In "Zombie Lover", he falls in love with Breanna of the Black Wave and wants her to marry him. (she slept in his magic pavillion or something, which technically did obligate her to marry him).. hope that helps ;) |

| Comments: | Hey how's it going? I'm hooked on Xanth and Piers's books! He's the man. I'm about 16 and have been reading his books since the end of my eighth grade year religiously. I got started when my brother came back from living with my father in Colorado and brought a box of books with him that he had read over the last year. One of the many series in the box was the first nine Xanth. Since then I have read 11 Xanth, just finishing Heaven Cent, and Mr.Anthony's Apprentice Adapt series through book 4, and am planing on finding and buying the rest of both series. I have also forced a good friend of mine to start Xanth 2 months ago, he has just finished Castle Roogna. I have been very impressed with Piers's writing capabilities and look forward to reading more of his books! |
