I'm at a brick wall in locating the parents of the William Tinsley that married Jane Eubanks on Nov 23, 1814. I found where my grandfather, William Mose Tinsley, and his mother, Elizabeth "Betsey" Estes Tinsley, went to Kansas for abt. 3 yrs and came back to Casey Co. almost broke & starving in the Semi-Weekly Interior Journal. No one in the family knew anything about this. I also like the cemetery section and the photos of the headstones. There where some pictures missing for the Estes Graveyard even though it said all were shown. My Aunt Emma Lanham is buried there and a cousin just had her headstone repaired last year. Also, Joseph Delk, born & died March 6, 1914. I've seen in books where there is a date of 1890 on his headstone but no one in the family has any idea what the 1890 is for. His mother, my grandmother, and my mother, his sister, has confirmed that his birth & death were March 6, 1914. |

My folks divorced when I was a kid, and I lost track of my Kentucky relatives, but I'd love to see if any are still around. My grandparents were John Gibson Gordon and Margaret Gordon (known as Maggie), and I think her maiden name was Nunn. My father was Gibson John Gordon, born in 1907. He had three brothers - Nelson, Russell and Frank. He had two sisters, Ida and Lillian. Ida married Joe Woods, and Lillian married someone named Floyd or Lloyd Neikirk (Neikirt?). I'm hoping that I still have a cousin or two, but don't know how to search for them. I remember going to Paint Lick when I was very little and being charmed by it. They were living in Crab Orchard, Kentucky. !840-1920 James Buchanan Gilkerson's family came from Barnet and Ryegate, Vermont.
