| Comments: | Greetings all, I lived in Dhahran from 1954 to 1958, leaving at the end of 3rd grade. We first lived in a duplex across from an AC plant, then in the row houses, and lastly in a pink portable on 3rd St across from the school. My 3rd grade teacher was Miss Matthews (I was her pet). Some of my playmates were Lloyd Thompkins, Eric Hill (who was on the Andrea Doria the night she sank), Bobby Powers (the Principal's son), Tommy Painter and Chris Mohlman (the wild man! Those trips to the forbidden reclamation lot). There were many more friends but I need to find my old yearbooks to refresh the aging grey matter. Finding this site was a real treat, a brief excursion into the best memories of my childhood. I absolutely cherish my Aramco experience. |

As it was, my family lived in Dhahran for two years while my dad was the Protestant minister to the Dhahran Fellowship. My brothers' names are Dave Hackett and Doug Hackett. I have fond memories of swimming at the Dhahran swimming pool, picnics at Half Moon Bay, the wonderful school, and the clean, safe neighborhoods of Dhahran in the mid-1960s. |

| Comments: | Wow!I was working on a presentation and needed a few pictures....that was two hours ago. I started reading and looking around and boy do I miss those days. I have lived in Kuwait and now the UAE with my husband and four children, but nothing like Ras Tanura. Don't get me wrong, the UAE is wonderful but the closeness we shared as ARAMCO brats can not be replaced. I hate that I have lost touch with everyone. We knew when we graduated that would be the last time we saw many of our friends. It is sad....I say every year I am going to make it to the reunion but it has not happened. Swarmah's are not as good as I remember, or the roasted chickens on the side of the road. I have not seen any DOMO milk although there is long life milk. We have malls and bigger than a super WalMart grocery stores where you can get just about anything you want from home. We wear shorts and sleeveless shirts in public.....Times have changed. We do have new memories and new friends. Our children are enjoying it all. miss you all |

| Comments: | It is hard to believe that it has been almost 27 years since I lived in Dhahran. I did make it back for Desert Storm, I was in the Army at the time, but was only able to drive past the main gate. I lost touch with everyone shortly after going off to high school since vacations were always at different times, or was not spent in Dhahran. It would be nice to find some old friends to be able to reminisce with. In my current life I have two wonderful kids, Tommy who is 4 and Tiffany who is almost 3. Things are a little rough right now because I am in the process of getting divorced after 6 years of marriage. Hopefully it will be over in the next couple of months and I can move on. I am working a Microsoft where I have been for the last 8 years and have enjoyed most of the time, with the exception of when we are about to ship a product since it gets so hectic. |

The two day swim meet was held in Fort Myers Florida. While I accepted the silver medal I proudly wore a Dhahran Falcon Swim Team warm up! :-) My dad, fiance Barb, and former Aramcons Debbie and Pat Dorsch were pool side to cheer me on in my race. It reminds me how precious life is and how suddenly it can be gone. We need to keep relationships a priority. I seem to have developed a collection of camels around home as well; probably from all that time in the desert, eh? I've become a HUGE hockey fan, thanks in large part to the local team here in Portland, OR. I left DH in the summer of '84, a month before school ended, and seem to have lost track of everyone since then... I miss those days, but I'm thankful for the family and everything I've got now. | Comments: | This posting is from a friend of Deena and Ian Ellis. Ian pasted away Friday November 16. I spoke with Deena and the first thing she wanted me to do is to let everyone know at Aramco Brats and that they could contact her for any details. Ian was at Ras Tanura in the 80's. They lived there from 81-86. His death has been a shock to all of us here in Texas. There will be a memorial on Saturday the 24, 2007. The last time I spoke with Ian, he and my husband Bobby Sivard(Abquiq) were sharing great memories (probably tall tales) of being Aramco Brats. I won two gold medals taking first place in the 50-54 age group in the 25 and 50 yd. breastroke and qualified for the 2 day State meet to be held at Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida on Dec. 1st and 2nd.
