I took a 4th place in the 50 yd. breastroke and a 6th place in the 100 yd. breastroke for the 50-54 age group. There were 142 entries and 19 heats in the 50 yd. br. and 17 heats for the 100 yd. br. I am totally stunned and saddened at hearing this news.I knew Jimmy well as he was an admirable foe for many many years in the Aramco Dhahran Little League circles when I played for the Royals, Steelers, and Bears against his teams. I chatted with "Aunt Lucy" (Jimmy's awesome mom) for about 30 mins at the Aramco Las Vegas Reunion last Sept. so this news hit me as a total shock and surprise. | Comments: | My mother and I arrived in Al Kobar in 1952 or 53. We waited for housing in DH. My father would drop me off (7 a.m.) at the recreation area and I'd play until school started. Within a short time we moved into company housing. My first girl friend in DH was Diane Armstrong and last was Camille McCann. My father (Andy) happened to have BADGE #1, that's my claim to fame. I attended 7 high schools (Dad had many jobs) and joined the Army in 1963. In 1979 I returned to Saudi with my wife and 2 children. I worked at King Faisal Hospital In Riyadh and returned to San Diego 4 years later. I have been happily married for 43 years (same woman) and recently sold my business in San Diego. We retired in November of 08. |

We had a mini Aramco reunion last month over the holidays on board the RCCL Navigator of the Seas cruise ship out of Fort Lauderdale. 10 were with us including Aramco Brats Tom Nine (Dh.72),Fred Bobb (Dh.72), Marc Dorsch (Dh.76), Debbie Dorsch (Dh.73)and Aramco retirees Pat Dorsch (Aramco Schools),Arthur Bobb (Aramco Medical Services),and Dottie Srembo (Aramco Medical Services).
