| Comments: | We took a trip to CR last March and enjoyed the beaches before heading to Arenal. What a magical place. We, too, were a bit nervous about the rumblings of the volcano but trekked around it anyway to see the beautiful waterfalls. We enjoyed it so much we bought a small piece of land we hope to build on in the future so we can enjoy it forever. Costa Rica is really one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and one of the main reasons for this is the wonderful people. I hope tourism doesn't change the people or the scenery there. |

| Comments: | Thanks for the great website. It helps us a lot to plan our trip. We stayed at Arenal area for four nights in Lost Iguana resort. It is just amaizing resort with beatiful volcano view, trails, rooms, people and a lot of privacy. We walked in arenal national park for a half day on our own. We saw a wild life ( monkeys, birds, etc). You just have to patient and quite to see them. Just take your time. We went to Hanging bridges - you will see jungle from the top and then went throug Lost Iguana resort trails and saw jungle from the 'buttom'. We went to very relaxing safari river trip and drive around lake arenal. At night we went to tabacon and baldi hot springs. they both completely different experience. we even went to a wild hot spring ( between tabacon and arenal park ( watch fro parking cars). at all arenal is a very romantic place to visit and meet very nice people! |

It is visible from higher elevations from "our" north end of the lake as well. Congratulations on a SUPERB website. I will be recommending it to friends who are now interested in our soon-to-be adventure in paradise. Cheers for now; Shirley & Arnold McKale - Csa Aurora, Tilaran |

| Comments: | I first visited Costa Rica in november 2004. I ended up at the lake , found a nice hotel(linda vista del norte) where i met some very nice people. After spending a few days and exploring the neighborhood(el Castillo) a fell in love with the place. So i came back january 2005 to see if I could buy that nice peace of property I saw back in november.Since the owner was a very nice and thrustable person, I`m now the proud owner of that nice lot. Now I`m just waiting to move over there and spend quality time in that wonderfull area. with my regards to the staff of HOTEL LINDA VISTA DEL NORTE. |

| Comments: | First of all, we appreciate the "warning" concerning the possible eruption and resulting effect it could have, but there are times in everyones life when the beauty of a place outwieghs the possible danger. One such place is Arenal Volcano and Tabacon Hot Springs. We have been all over the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. We have been throughout the Carriebean. Each place we have been has it's own spectacular scenery and beauty and Costa Rica has become one of those that we would return to again and again. Our short stay at Tabacon Hot Springs was one of those experiences that will stay with us the rest of our lives. It is a place of awesome tropical beauty and the fact that you have an active volcano so close by makes it a very exciting experience. |

| Comments: | This trip is our second trip to Costa Rica. The first trip was on the Pacific coast and Guanacaste. We loved it so much we wanted to see more of Costa Rica and have returned in July 2005. This was to be a second honeymoon for us and it turned out better than we had anticipated. So many cute little items to make our vacation special. Arenal Volcano was spectacular and although it was the "green season"; we had good weather with the exception of 2 days out of 12 when it poured down rain. We managed to see monkeys, birds, iguanas, whiptails, butterflies and other wildlife. We also had time to spend in San Jose for a few days before returning. After leaving, our heart still remains in Costa Rica and I know we will be returning again someday. |

| Comments: | My 2 friends and I went to C.R. to attend a wedding in Limon area; we travelled to the capital and to both coasts in a 12 day period. Our best of all experiences were Arenal area - the Lost Iguana Resort was A++ and we were so impressed that I'm already booking my next trip to the Lost Iguana! The owner, Elaine, is as warm and friendly as can be, and all the staff are happy, friendly people who spread the joy and are a pleasure to be around. Plus, we could lay in our beds at night and watch the volcano erupt and the lava rocks roll down the side of the volcano- killer vistas of the volcano for all 4 days we were there! Plus, the recommendations for tours were the best including Pure Trek Canyoning, Sky Tram Canopy Tour, and Arenal Hanging Bridges (which are a short walk from the Lost Iguana!) I would skip the Tabacon Resort completely, and this is kinda the advise we got beforehand but couldn't help ourselves. Too many drunk underagers. There are other resorts that compare - try them instead. Finally, THANKS to Zach Smith at Arenal.net: you helped us plan an awesome trip! |

| Comments: | I traveled to Costa Rica with 12 other students from my highschool and we toured almost the whole country. Arenal Volcano was the best two nights in the entire two weeks we traveled. Not only was the volcano a spectacular sight, the hotel there was awesome. The people were nice, the meals were great and the view was amazing. Anyone who has the chance to go to Costa Rica should most definately spend at least one night in the area and check out some of the sights. |

| Comments: | We spent much more time at the Vulcan Arenal than we thought we would, skipping the coast altogether. It is such a beautiful sight! When the clouds relent to uncover its grandeur it is awesome. We heard the rumblings-- a bit startling in the middle of the night-- saw the fumerol, but no night time show of lava.... still, we could not leave. It may be that the flow has changed, as the last writer mentioned. We stayed at Los Lagos, La Praderia, and Montana de Fuego -- perhaps you must go around farther west toward the Arenal Observatory Lodge to see the flow. Tobacan is a bit too disneyland, we think -- if you want to feel as though you are still in Costa Rica with locals making a gallant effort to please you -- try elsewhere. Authentic is staying with a family nearby, inbetween is one of these inns, Tobacon is an Americanized spa-spa -- not to diss it, sometimes you really need the comforts of home! |

| Comments: | We just returned from Costa Rica and one of our tours was to Arenal Volcano. We heard it was cloudy, but we both kept saying that the clouds would be gone when we arrived. Positive thinking works. It was such an incredible site to see and hear. We stopped at the Tabacon Hot Springs and enjoyed the waters at the Tabacon Resort was so relaxing. Setting on the grounds watching the eruptions and hearing the thundering noise. Then after dark seeing the red/orange of the lava shooting up in the air and the flow and boulders bouncing down the side of the mountain. A must see for anyone visiting a beautiful country of Costa Rica. We are making plans for a return trip next May. Pura vida!!!! |

| Comments: | We recently visited Arenal and Tabacon Hot Springs while on our honeymoon October 19th. The clouds cleared from teh day and made for spectacular night viewing. It was unbelievable to be so close to the volcano, and to hear the rocks tumbling down the mountainside, the brilliant red/orange lava flowing and spewing, and to hear the steam explosions. It was truly magical, and we couldn't believe we were experiencing such a remarkable natural event. I would highly recommend to anyone going to Costa Rica to experience this event. Between the hot springs and the volcano, it made for one terrific honeymoon! |

| Comments: | Hello, My husband and I just returned from a trip to Arenal, Oct. 19-21st. It was fantastic!! We saw eruptions all day and the nights were unforgettable. We almost could not get to sleep because we were seeing lava flow every 15 minutes. We even woke up because of some of the loud eruptions. We could see the volcano from our front porch area. We stayed at the Los Lagos and it was wonderful. The staff made every effort to make our stay comfortable. We arranged for massages and volcanic ash treatments and that was great. We made a visit to Tabacon Hot Springs too, and it was unforgettable. During the Green season there was some rain in the evenings but our two nights were clear and very little cloud cover. The lower rates made it easy on the pocket, too. The shuttle transfers made through Arenal.net were timely and great drivers. Pura Vida--Go and discover paradise! K.Strot |

For two days we observed a spectacular sight, smoke, groans, ash, rock, shooting rocks in the air, it was as clear as a bell and the sounds were awesome. |

The hotel was beautiful, the service and food were impeccable. The volcano was unbelievable. It was very active for the two days that we were there. The representative that helped me with my reservations was Shannon and she was very helpful. I have recommended Los Lagos to everyone I know who has been thinking about coming to Costa Rica since I have told them how wonderful it is. I also recommend this website to people for very helpful information about the Arenal area. On my next trip, in May 2004, I hope to visit Monteverde. Thanks for a fabulous stay. |

| Comments: | Just a short note to thankyou for your extremely useful advice during our recent 2 week trip to Costa Rica and Santa Elena in particular. As you recommended we took the 8:00 a.m. 4x4 Jeep tour to Lake Arenal and boated across where we were picked up on the other side and dropped off at Hotel Arenal Paraiso (Paradise). Although the other guests had not seen the Arenal Volcano for the past 10 days, as if by magic, the clouds lifted and we had a full view of the Volcano 20 minutes after we arrived. After an excellant (and inexpensive) meal at the hotel we were seated in the Tabacon Hot Springs sipping Pina Coladas by 1:00 p.m. The next day we met people who had driven from Santa Elena to Fortuna and they had taken a full day of difficult driving to get to the same spot. The consel you gave us provided an additional afternoon and evening to relax and enjoy! But the best was yet to come! We left Tabacon Hot Springs at 6:30, a short and inexpensive taxi ride back to Hotel Arenal Paraiso. From the taxi we could see the eruptions and lava flows running down the sides of the volcano. As you recommended, even though it cost a little more, Hotel Arenal Paraiso was on the perfect viewing side of the Volcano. Certainly that was one of the best decisions we made during our trip (and the actual difference in cost was quite minimal) because we spent the evening watching the spectacle from our "cabina" balcony....and later that night from our bed with the curtains pulled wide open as we slowly drifted off to sleep. In the morning the Volcano was again enveloped by clouds. By the way, everything about Hotel Arenal Paraiso was great, the food, the cleanliness, the pool, and the friendly and competent staff who went out of their way to be helpful. We had told you that it was important for us to see the volcano and you said it was important that we put the chances, as much as possible, in our favor. We did and it certainly paid off in a big way. One of the travel highlights of our lives....and we have visited many countries over the years. Thank you again! Merci beaucoup Jacques.
