I'll admit to enjoying the more frequent updates myself...but as a writer, I know how the creative process can be, especially when you're trying to do other things at the same time. Write the story that feels true to you.

Having reread certain parts of the comic, I love how certain parts of the ongoing plot are kept from ol' Alex via the Loroi's telepathic communications: one has to fill in the blanks about the stellar-political implications of humanity's intrusion upon the war scene, the personal conflict between the military, the diplomats, and reluctant allies, and how perturbed the Loroi are with Humanity's telepathy blocking effect, which apparently stretches out for an AU at least.

Jardin better play his cards right, or the Loroi might decide to preemptively eliminate a potential weapon against them.

I am gratified to see the quick update. I hope this leads to more such events. As others have mentioned, the artwork is stunning but the update schedule is difficult, especially the long delay without communication. I look forward to where this is going, and hope that watching the character motivations over time is a long and enjoyable process. As they say in my business, setting customer expectation and then meeting it is about 80% of customer satisfaction. Another way to put it is under promise and over produce.

I suggest you contact Dirk I. Tiede over at Paradigm Shift (http://www.paradigmshiftmanga.com) and seeing if maybe you can streamline your process some how. He commits to once a week on Tuesday. Meets that and works ahead for life's emergencies. He had a delay around the holidays but he communicated that and explained when things would start back up. He even posted some planing drafts for pages showing that that the planning was going forward. He is right now replacing those with finished art. His media is different, in some ways there is even more attention to detail in his art. He is in his 4th chapter, but he was once where you are and can offer legitimate suggestions that I cannot.

This was pretty cool; too bad it just trails off without an ending. I kept thinking there would be more but now I realize it's gone dead so I'll quit checking. Better luck with the next one!

The art is phenomenal, but I find the pace a little...irregular for my tastes. I like the work,, really I do, but when you leave for a few months and come back with 20-odd comics added in the interim, it's a little disheartening.

But don't let my nay-saying get you down! Keep it up d00d, 4 teh sake of humaniteh!

Your comments says "... not dead (yet)"; at this rate of publishing art, is there really much difference?

Much longer, and this strip gets deleted from my bookmarks to make room for something else.

As for QUALITY: first rate, keep it up.

Tell ya what: next art post, I donate.

I have read your comic several times and still cannot get enough of it. It is a powerful story worth exploring and has much potential. If I may offer a suggestion (although I'm certain you've already thought of it), if you are looking for faster ways of eventually publizing this and to complete the story, then I suggest you consider converting this comic into a novel form with visual depictions, like Tony Diterlizzi's Search for Wondla, which incorporates drawn images to depict the world alongside the words. Outsider might be well received if it followed a similar format, especially if readers could actually see the world that you see. And do it fast. Lots of people out there might steal your idea. Keep up the good work.

Finally, I hope we'll soon get to read why the comic is called "outsider"

Also, the look on Fireblade's eyes as she scorted him out was sort of... pleading.

Love the artwork. The stoyline is intriguing! I enjoy webcomics. They tell their stories in a way that is different from both text books and movies. Your plotline is a new variation on the theme explored in the "Through the Looking Glass" books by John Ringo or his Posleen series. In his, and other mainstream works, the warring nations seek out humanity for alliance and then work to destroy or dominate humanity. Here humanity seeks out the warring entities. Interesting take.

Great stuff! I remember reading this comic years ago, but it was apparently on hiatus then, so I stopped reading it. Still awesome! Very excited to find out about Alex's situation. How will his quarter's be? Will he find them odd or uncomfortable? Will he be separated from the crew? And how will he spend his days? And does he get a hot alien love-interest? All good questions that need answering!

Much as I love a good battle (and the impending destruction of the Bellarmine's remains), I'm frankly more interested in the developments surrounding Jardin's diplomatic status and how he interacts with the aliens.

Glad to see you're updating again, and so frequently too!

Wow, I want to admit that I was completely awe-stricken by the superlative quality of your story and your art, but yet I was also more than a little surprised by the relative obscurity of your work. I'll be sure to visit this site often in the future, and I'll also try to pass the word to more potential readers. Please, keep up your magnificent work :D

In fact, I am at a loss as too why no major animation company have come along and offered you to make this an Anime or full length movie...I am ever expecting your next update! Please finish this story...

I can safely say I feel a thrill each time I see you've updated. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't like a faster pace, but you can't rush quality art. Keep up the great work, I love what you've done here.

I think it's time for you to make your own forum.
I've been waiting in the Digital Webbing moderation queue for my account to be approved for more than six months and I can see from other comments both here and on your facebook page that such circumstances are quite common, but even without that personal inconvenience, there's also the fact that you have a number of non-Outsider projects both new and old which could use their own subfora, such as your "Second Six" artwork or the Homeworld Shipyards.
I do not feel that the Outsider board on Digital Webbing is the appropriate page to discuss such things, nor do I feel that the Digital Webbing forum is adequate even for the discussion of Outsider, since the approval process for a Digital Webbing account appears to take years at a time.
Please consider it.

Jim, you are the man! Outsider is not only the best web comic I've ever seen, it's also one of the best science fiction stories I've ever come across! The concept, the characters, the setting, and the delivery is amazing. I wish I could afford to pay you to work on it full time, because I'm dying to see where the story is going!

Keep up the good work, and thank you for giving us such a masterpiece!

I just stumbled over your comic. Usually I'm prudent with excessive praise, but I love it! It's entertaining and intriguing with a slice of witty humor. I really had to laugh out loud when I saw page 72 :D. Wonder where the whole "So I am the only man in a ship full of stunningly attractive warrior princesses" thing is going ... It's a classic theme but you manage to handle it without making it goofy. I also like the setting. Somehow I'm into SciFi scenarios where humanity is a minor player at best. Please keep it up ...

I like the idea of soundless fighting in space (Panel 77).
But i think some narration about what is going on would increase the drama.

Keep up the great work!
