HI Sarah,
My sister and brother-in-law were married for 25 years and she finally divorced him becaused they had raised their last son and she didn't have to take the beatings and his drinking anymore. Well, she met someone that was as good to her as her ex-husband was to her, so, she married him. They have been married 7 years now. To get to the point, her ex-husband started going downhill, because he knew that when she married Mike, she would be dedicated to him until death and he realized what he had lost. He started drinking more and he had a heart attack and got liver disease and starting dating crack women. He got his retirement from where he worked, which was around $96,000.00 and the trashy women stayed around. His land joined my mom's land. The wom en would get him drunk and passed out and steal what they could. I went up there one day and talked to him about pre-arranging his funeral arrangements while he had some money left. He told me that it didn't matter how he was buried, because nobody would come. That broke my heart. [His family and him were not close at all.] I told him that I would be there and he smiled and said, "Will you Dink"? I cried and cried. He was scared of being along and of dying. Well, Christmas Eve, my family gathered at my mom's house for our get-together, and my brother came at, I don't know exactly what time, and told her that something just happened bad. Well, no one saw any stirring around at his house for the next 3 or 4 days, so, one of his crack women called his best friend to go and check on him. The woman and his friend called the cops and they went to his house and he had it locked so good, that no one could get in. My sister and her husband came and gave the o.k. for the cops to go in. Some guy had a gigantic crowbar and he lifted up the living room window and his best friend went in and found him on the living room sofa dead. The coroner said that he died on Christmas Eve. Your song, "Angel" fits him to a "t" and everytime I hear it, I think of him and other people like him that started out o.k. and went down to the bottom and are now in the "ARMS OF AN ANGEL". Sarah, A year ago I saw you on a morning show and you sang a song "So This Is Christmas". I thoughtyou had the voice of an Angel and really liked your music. I just bought the CD Afterglow Live and realized you have the mouth of a demon. I felt like is wasn't okay to cry, but I listened to this song alone in my room the day before her funeral, and I cried my heart out. The year after, I was so excited when my dance team did a dance to this song. Sarah has had a big impact on me in regards to making music. I played semi-proffessionaly from the ages of 17 to 20. I worked a variety of different jobs; and eventually graduated college after 18 years with a four year liberal arts degree. I am now 39 going on 40. I played bass guitar in a bluegrass band before giving it up in 1989. Having just got out of college I found that my prospects of finding a decent job were, suprisingly limited. My neice asked me to play bass for her. She is a very talented artist. So, after 17 years of not playing bass, I basically relearned how to play. When I was im college, I bought sarah's dvd afterglow. It kept me going. It was really theraputic at the time. I graduated from college in 2005. College was hard; but I find it more difficult to dicipline myself to learn new music. It seems to take hours of hard work for several days to really learn the songs. Music seems to be my only career oportunity at this point. The money isn't great, but I have had enough experience in the business to expect that. And as far as getting a record deal? I don't understand that at all, but one is in negotiation. I hope. Artist like sarah would probably have keep on playing music even if they had not have been tremendously successful. So with that in mind, I try and keep a positive attitude and continue to get better as a musician: even though it is some fo the toughest work I've ever done. Thanks to sarah, I feel that music is a worthwhile endevour. Her music really lifted me and inspired me to work hard, stay happy, and keep going. | |

I just wanted you to know how powerful "hold on" is to me. (I'm not sure that's even the name of the song). Track 2. As an only child I've lost both my parents separately and this song has gotten me thru the before (anticipation) and (greiving) process, and after 6 and almost 3 years this song will still stop me in my tracks. I guess I'm still a fan of Sara's music. I just don't listen to it much anymore since it's been played so much. I do wish she would start producing again... hopefully before we celebrate her 50th birthday.
Heck. It'd be nice if she did other's cover songs or something (ANYTHING!) I guess I'm a little disappointed that she has such a gift of voice and yet doesn't produce something. It's like a talent wasted. | |

My absolute favorite!! Sarahs' voice is what I would imagine an angel would sound like. She is so talented and the fact she writes most of her own music is beyond imagination. She must be a reincarnation of someone with an angelic voice with supreme intelligence that carried over to this lifetime. Keep them coming, please.
