I have been singing bass in the Calgary area with the Stampede City Chorus and more recently with my own quartet called Swingshift. My style is based in barbershop and my quartet has added other a capella songs like What should we do with the Drunken Sailer, Route 66, Mills Bros Medley, and Calendar Girl. I know much of your posted repertoire. I even was involved in writing SP for the chorus. Why am I writing? My wife has roots in Pictou and wants to return to Nova Scotia...urgently. In order to do so, I need work. Would anyone have contacts at Aliant or an electrical/communications contractor who might know of work as a communication technician? I had the priviledge of hearing the Quadrangles on Breakfast Television this am and it instantly brought back very fond memories of singouts and a lifetime of Barbershop harmony. My dad was a former Atlantic Swells member before he "hit the big time" so to speak and went to work for the Society at Harmony Hall in Kenosha Wisconsin. I am the daughter of Ron Rockwell. I'm not sure if there are any members left who sang with him in the'70's but to all I send greetings. I continue to love the harmony you sing and wish you well in your upcoming show.
