Comments:To this day, I am still saddened by John's death. I was in shock when it happened and cried for a long time after anytime I saw him on tv or in movies. He was one of the famous people I hoped to meet one day. John Candy was another. Both died way too young and have both made a huge impression on my life. My heart still goes out to John's family and I hope they are all doing well. See you in the spirit world someday John. Maybe I'll be able to meet you then.

Comments:Hello i have signed this guestbook the last two years on the anniversary of the passing of my favourite actor ever "the greatest and most versatile actor of all time" John Ritter. Unfortunatley my time is limited tonight unlike my long post on the guestbook a couple years ago so i would like to ask the webmaster to this wonderful John Ritter website if you would do me a huge favor? I am going to copy and paste my same exact post on the guestbook from a couple years ago and i hope you don't mind posting it again for me. I know this may sound weird but i think it would be good for people to read my same exact post again this year because everything i said in that post still rings true today. As a matter of fact it is even more important now because 5 years ago today a very special man was took from us and more importantly took from a loving wife and a beautiful 5 year old girl that is now 10 years old. I pray for Amy(widow) and Stella(daughter) that they are doing good in their life and i think of them often. All day today at work i thought of the Sept. 11th terriost attacks and the loss of John Ritter. it was so hard to make it through the day but the only thing i know to do is trust in God that everything happens for a reason. He took John Ritter for a reason and we have to believe that because if i don't believe that then it makes it too hard for me to deal with. Here below is my exact message from Sept. 9th 2006 and everyone please remember and pray for the Ritter family during this very difficult time. Thanks and everybody please read the message below. Thanks and God Bless John Ritter!!! i have loved john ritter my whole life, he is without a doubt the greatest and most versatile actor in the history of hollywood. there was something about john ritter that made you stop and watch him to see what he was doing. i admit that i am a 33 year old man and i cried like a baby the day he died. just thinking about him right now i get tears in my eyes. i think about his beautiful daughter stella. thank god she has alot of video of her father she can watch the rest of her life and she will always know how much he loved her. i think he is the only person in the history of hollywood acting that has never ever had one bad thing said about him. i am not saying he was a saint but he was truly a beautiful person inside. in today's world of hollywood were all most celebrities know how to do is get in trouble with the law and get dui's and use foul language in public and get fired from their job and are arrogant and complain all the time and use drugs. john ritter was the complete opposite, he was a complete gentleman who loved his fans and really appreciated them. when john ritter passed away hollywood lost most of its respect and it's heart. it pains me to watch movies these days knowing what kind of lowlife people these human beings are in their real every day life. with john i didn't have to worry about that. he came from the old school and that is how i like it. he treated everybody with respect, from the lowest guy on the ladder to the top. i will say this, john ritter was too good for hollywood. that is why he stayed pretty much in tv, like sitcoms and made for tv movies. no offence to tom hanks and all them others, but they never ever made a big budget box office movie that was ever as good as the made for tv movie called UNFORGIVABLE. UNFORGIVABLE from mr.versatility john ritter from 1996 is in my opinion the single greatest piece of acting in the history of acting. the biggest tragedy in box office history is that a movie like UNFORGIVABLE was not one of the biggest money makers in box office history. but see what made mr. ritter so great was that he simply didn't care about the box office. he had major box office success with both problem child's from "90 and "91 and stay tuned from "92 but as soon as he was getting big box office roles what did he do? he went straight back to a tv sitcom with hearts afire. that tells me that he didn't care about all that hoopla in hollywood or he wouldn't have accepted the hearts afire role. sling blade showed all them box office people what kind of actor mr.ritter was. he finally got some box office respect with that role, but what about all the other classic movies john made. it is too many to list here. a child's wish come to mind. just fantastic acting from john ritter. you know the one thing i really loved about john ritter's acting. it was his believability in his roles. what i mean by that is this, when john ritter was on the screen. you didn't really think he was acting. you honestly believed it for real. that is how good he was. that is what hollywood lacks today. to many actors who are not versatile at all and you can see right through them. but not mr. versatility john ritter. the last thing i want to say is john ritter you are missed by a ton of people in this world, especially your family. but it was meant to be i guess and i hope to see you again in heaven one day were i can tell you how much joy you have brought to my life. john ritter, you were the greatest and most versatile actor of all time and nobody and i mean nobody will ever take your place. rest in peace my friend.

Comments:I grew up watching John on Three's Company. That show was a family affair. We loved watching all of John's silly antics and pretending to be gay so Mr. Furley wouldn't throw him out, for living with two girls. The chemistry was great between all of the actors on that show. John was just a great actor to watch perform, he made it seem so effortless. I cried when my husband told me that John passed away. I didn't believe him because I didn't hear the news reports. Anyway, John, you were and always will be a National Treasure. God Bless your family entirely.

I find myself missing John Ritter, because, I myself related to many of his situations and feelings. Hell, I still experience similar perdicaments. Son of a Gun, "Three's Company Too" is starting, as we speak. My age must be showing. The Greats always show there hand. John ranks among the best: "only the good die young". I knew of John Ritter's passing but due to being too young to follow three's company, I have only become to realise what a wonderful actor John Ritter was, he makes comedy seem so easy & his relationship with all the actors on the show comes accross very strong. I am now looking to buy this great show i keep getting told about Three's Company. My parents say John was in his prime throughout the running of the show, so John even from heaven you are still making people laugh & becoming an idol to youngsters like myself. Thank you, Lee

Three's Company is one of my favorite shows, and John was so good-hearted and I could tell he was the type of person who was very down to earth. I also found comfort in reading his biography. Incidentally, John and Amy got married in 1999-the year I graduated High School, and on the 18th,-the same day I got married! My husband and I celebrate not just our anniversary, but give thoughts to John and his family. All our prayers and sympany to the Ritter Family

Comments:Even now...it is hard to believe that such a warm, gentle, amazing human being could just die. But, most of all, is the most tragic timing circumstances of his death. He died on his FIVE year-old daughter Stella's birthday, several days before his milestone 55th birthday, within a week of Amy Yasbeck's 40th milestone birthday...and it makes you feel a cold sickness. A man so full of life died at 54 years of age, and you see these people in papers live to be 115 or 120. I'm not saying they don't deserve it; the feeling is just simply sickening.

People always say that the death was quick and so he won't have suffered but his family did and I would like to take this moment to offer my condolences. Knowing that his daughter will have to grow up without a father is heartbreaking but I am comforted by the fact that she had the pleasure of knowing him those first few years and knowing that there are so many people out there who will be more than willing to tell her about her amazing dad. He will be greatly missed.

Comments:I didn't even realise that John Ritter had died until today 15/03/07 and that shocks me. I had seen John in many things on tv and film, but hadn't for a while, that was until recently when i began watching 8 Simple Rules, i'd turned it on by mistake, but as soon as i saw who was starring in it my eyes lit up and an instant smile was brought to my face. I had wondered why all of a sudden John's character had been killed off, thinking that he had moved onto other things, obviously not, he'd just moved on altogether. I will miss him.

He was my favourite character on the show for his great humor im sure just as you are that John Ritter is one of the greatest losses in television history. And just before his and his daughters birthdays. It must have been so hard for the family to say to their daughter that their daddy was up in heaven Goodbye John

Comments:I found this website today and I'm so glad I did, as it gives me a chance to send my personal best wishes to his family. Most evenings, my mother and I sit and watch '8 Simple Rules' on ABC1. We only found the programme earlier this year, but are already captivated by it and its great sense of the comedies of real family life. I find it hard to watch the episodes where John is still featured. Equally, the episodes shown recently featuring the family's first Thanksgiving and the first Christmas without Paul, were very moving, as you could see that the actors didn't need to act the part. My mother commented on this, unaware that John had died in real life. I remember seeing John in 'Hooperman' all those years ago. He reminded me then and still does in that Hooperman photo of my partner, with whom I had recently split when first watching Hooperman. Sadly my partner too died young, 10 years ago tomorrow, so I guess I know what the family must feel each anniversary. John was a very talented actor, one of those rare gems whose full talents were probably not fully appreciated in his lifetime, but like a good wine, will continue to be apppreciated more since his death. Maybe he'll come back to us one day and we'll see that wonderful talent once again on our screens. Rest easy John and my thoughts are with those who knew and loved him.

Comments:To the family of John Ritter and his dearest and closest friends. It is really hard to believe, that today marks the third anniversary of losing a truly remarkable man. I will never forget coming home and my dad telling me the shattering news of his sudden death.I love watching his work every night before I got to bed. It is really amazing the acting talent he had, he could be a complete goofball on Three's Company,a very quick witted sophisticated chief of staff on Hearts Afire, and a muderer in Lethal Vows and yet they all seem like diffrent people.I don't know of anyone who has that abilty as well as he did. I miss him terribly and pray his wife and kids really understand that he had an impact on many lives and will never before gotten.I hope to his wife ,Amy that this years anniversary was a lot more peaceful in the sense of the burden of the hospital situation was finished. Amy you and John's children are very brave and wise and just remember John is with all of you and the day will come when you ,Stella and his children will see him again in heaven. John Ritter you are my idol and I miss you rest in peace 1948-2003 Amy,Stella, Jason, Carly, and Tyler all of you take care and hopefully Amy will read this Happy Birthday Stella!!your dad was the nicest man.

Comments:i have loved john ritter my whole life, he is without a doubt the greatest and most versatile actor in the history of hollywood. there was something about john ritter that made you stop and watch him to see what he was doing. i admit that i am a 33 year old man and i cried like a baby the day he died. just thinking about him right now i get tears in my eyes. i think about his beautiful daughter stella. thank god she has alot of video of her father she can watch the rest of her life and she will always know how much he loved her. i think he is the only person in the history of hollywood acting that has never ever had one bad thing said about him. i am not saying he was a saint but he was truly a beautiful person inside. in today's world of hollywood were all most celebrities know how to do is get in trouble with the law and get dui's and use foul language in public and get fired from their job and are arrogant and complain all the time and use drugs. john ritter was the complete opposite, he was a complete gentleman who loved his fans and really appreciated them. when john ritter passed away hollywood lost most of its respect and it's heart. it pains me to watch movies these days knowing what kind of lowlife people these human beings are in their real every day life. with john i didn't have to worry about that. he came from the old school and that is how i like it. he treated everybody with respect, from the lowest guy on the ladder to the top. i will say this, john ritter was too good for hollywood. that is why he stayed pretty much in tv, like sitcoms and made for tv movies. no offence to tom hanks and all them others, but they never ever made a big budget box office movie that was ever as good as the made for tv movie called UNFORGIVABLE.

My favourite John Ritter film is called (I think) Skin Deep where he is given an electric shock by an ex girlfriend and the scene that follows is hillarious!!!He came across as a naturally very funny man.

Comments:Hello to all. I am new to this site but wanted to say that I really enjoyed watching Mr. Ritter as a child in the 70's on Three's Company. I never got to got see him in 8 Simple Rules as my TV preferrence have changes over the years. I did however get to see the tribute that was hosted by his on screen wife after his death. I was most touched by one sceen this tribute show where he was watching his oldest daughter was going to be taking the car out for the first time on her own. He looks up and sees a bicycle hanging from the celing and the memories come back to him from when she was a child learning to ride a bicycle. I am a father of 2 and this tugged at my heart. I am hoping that someone who is connected to this site might be able to tell me how I might be able to get a copy of that tribute show. It can be on VHS or DVD. I am willing to buy a copy if anyone can help. I would love to show it to my wife and kids. Please LMK if anyone can help. Thank you very much. Galen imagine3271@hotmail.com

Comments:John Ritter gave us all many laughs when many times there was nothing else pleasant in our day. I was privileged to enjoy his many characters and yet the one that impacts the most is his father role on 8 Simple Rules, it hit home as a parent and you could see that he truly felt his role and the day to day challenges that kids and parents face in the real world. His talent as an actor and his faith as a human will always be a blessing in memories!!!!

Comments:I think the first thing i'd ever seen John Ritter in, was Ally McBeal, he was so sweet in that. But my absolute fave thing to watch him in is 8 Simple Rules, he made that show. Everytime i watch him in it, i think about him no longer being with us, and get all teary eyed. I'd so love to have him as my dad, it's so tragic he had to go. What a fab man, he'll never be forgotten.

Comments:I just watched the repeat of 8 Simple Rules "Goodbye" episode. Even after more than 2 years of John Ritter's passing away, I still find myself crying. I grew up watching Three's Company and since then admired John. He was great in Simple Rules - in fact Simple Rules was John Ritter. His passing away was a great loss, and he'll always be missed. God Bless You John.

He was a great actor and i loved him in '8 simple rules'. im just glad the show has carried on as I think that it is what john would have wanted, as it was part of his life. not only will this help fans of the show but also his family, fellow actors,on set and people who are also going through the same thing. It must have been really hard for the crew of '8 simple rules' to go back to work but i can say well done on carrying on with the show "johns memory" he would be proud. he's sadly missed

Comments:I want to pass on my condolences to the Ritter family. Even though the show first aired in 1977, and I was born in 1978, I grew up watching the show as a child right up through the many re-runs. Losing John at his young age has been a huge lost to his family, i'm sure. I'd just like to say it is a lost to his many fans as well. Three's Company will forever be my all-time favorite show, that holds many, many memories for me as a kid. We laughed along with the cast and we cried along with the cast. God bless you John. We will never forget you!

I apologise for this late delay in writing but thought I would just to show that I care. He was a great actor and I think that how he played the father in 8 Simple Rules he was playing from the heart. My heart goes out to you. It is tragic. But you had a wonderful man and father and friend. He cannot be replaced but he will always be remembered. I feel sorry for the next chap to try to fill his shoes. It will be a big task. Good luck and all of the best wishes to you and your family and friends. Margo Boyle

John was one of these people I never saw him in the street but from when I was really young sitting at home in Ireland watching three's company re-runs I would laugh my head off at him he was always funny and always had one of those 'happy faces' that I liked so much. Throughout the 80's and 90's John appeared in my fav programmes like Ally McBeal and Buffy and then even in Scrubs - it was as though I had cast them myself. I felt compelled to write here in honor of a really great actor with a lovely friendly face. R.I.P John. x

Comments:John was a outstanding actor. I wasn't here long enough to enjoy all of his work because I'm only 14, but I started watching Three's Company in 2002 when I started watching 8 simple rules when I realized that he was Jack Tripper!I was getting dressed for school the next morining when my aunt was like "look sandra your boy died! At first I thought it was Norman Fell because I didn't want to believe it was John that passed so she was like he been past.So when I went to school that day I was very sad that he passed when I was just started enjoying his work. Then that night I watched A Life Of Laughter and it kinda cheered me up.

Comments:WE ARRIVED FROM MEXICO IN 1978 AND MY DAD DID NOT SPEAK ANY ENGLISH AND THE ONLY SHOW HE LOVED TO WATCH WAS THREE'S COMPANY. HE SAID HE LIKED "EL TREE-PER" AS HE CALLED HIM BECAUSE HE WAS ALWAYS GETTING INTO HIS GOOFY SITUATIONS WHICH WOULD ALWAYS SHOWCASE HIS SLAP STICK COMEDY. I KNOW I NEVER MET JOHN RITTER BUT I ALWAYS FELT HE SEEMED LIKE A GENUINELY GOOD PERSON AND I CANNOT EXPLAIN WHY EXCEPT TO SAY YOU COULD TELL BY THE WAY HE TALKED IN INTERVIEWS. LATER AFTER HIS DEATH PEOPLE WOULD SAY WHAT A GENUINELY GOOD PERSON HE REALLY WAS,AND I CANT HELP BUT THINK BACK AND SAY I WAS RIGHT. HE MADE MY WHOLE FAMILY LAUGH SO MUCH AND MY PARENTS DID NOT NEED TO UNDERSTAND HIS LANGUAGE. I ALWAYS APPRECIATED THAT. THANKS JOHN AND WE WILL SEE YOU SOME DAY.

In no way could I ever understand what everyone has gone through in either family, but we have learned to not take anything for granted anymore. John Ritter has helped us with the awareness of this crazy condition that just goes unnoticed. It's just crazy that we had to learn this by such a great man losing his life. My prayers will always be with his family. We know that he is looking down on them every day.

He was my favorite character in 8 Simple Rules because he was so goofy, and the episode where he died made me cry. I remember hearing that they were going to cancel the show after he passed, but decided to keep it going as a tribute to him. I think they made a wise choice and I still watch the show to this day.
