| Why Site Is Great!: | Battle of Plattsburgh National Historic Trail is a registred U.S.A. Boy Scout Historic Trail that tells about the War of 1812 and the Battle of Plattsburgh, NY on Sept. 11, 1814. All along the seven mile trail are sites with 32 historic markers. At each site Scouts must find the answer to questions provided in their passport booklet. The Trail provides a learning experience, compass reading, safety, hiking, and knowledge about the War of 1812 and the Battle of Plattsburgh. After completing the trail Scouts can earn a Battle of Plattsburgh Historic Trail patch and medal.
