//John Mr. Coulombe, I hope you are well. I noticed that number 3 in your "Feeneyism FAQ" states the following: "Since none of us can know (as the Council of Trent teaches infallibly) whether or not we ourselves are in a state of Grace..." I know that we cannot, without a special revelation from God, know that we are in the state of grace. But I was under the impression that we could in fact know that we are not in the state of grace. Are you sure that Trent teaches the contrary of what I'm suggesting? (If so, of course, I will happily submit!) Thanks, John |

//http://arturovasquez.wordpress.com I am a fellow Neoplatonist who has a question. I was very intrigued by your paper on the Golden Dawn. In all of your references to Renaissance Neoplatonism, you mention Pico but you never mention Marsilio Ficino, the Priest-Magus and translator of the Divine Plato from Greek into Latin, who was Pico's elder. Do you have any opinions on Ficino in general, and his writings in particular? If you can, please e-mail me your response, and feel free to check out my site, since we are on the same page in so many issues. |

| Charles, in "ON THE ANONYMOUS NEWLYWED" you write "The doctrine of the Church also recognizes implicit baptism of desire.... God knows ... there are men of good will. They receive the grace of baptism without knowing it, but in an effective way." Does this not contradict Fr. Feeney's position "extra ecclesiam nulla salus"? Kevin |

| the following article yet to be published reminded me of the following: Christianity and the Supernatural (in preparation). .....Alice Von Hildebrand stated in Latin Mass Magazine, by the 1950 both the clergy and the laity were becomming very wordly and consequently were losing their sence of the supernatural. So, when the Latin Mass was being eliminated with its sense of the supernatural, they were glad to see it go. It's interesing to know that the public was being primed by Prime time TV during the 1964-1969 period. TV shows were being made to make fun of the supernatural (actually preaternatural) relm) attempting to make the faithful insecure. Those shows were, Bewitched, The Adams Family, The Munsters and I Dream of Jeanie. the "supernatural" was just a big joke consequently, so was the Latin Mass? Ben Joyce |

//http://groups.msn.com/Antimodernism/musicque.msnw this comment should have been placed on the First part of Jim Kalb interview by M Blowhard: Simon Kinahan: "Regarding the specific example of slavery: you are correct that native slavery in Europe itself was largely eliminated quite early, probably with the arrival of the Black Death, and you are almost certainly right that slavery in industrialised countries is uneconomic (it does persist unofficially elsewhere, regrettably). However, there were black slaves in Britain into the 19th century, and (as I am sure you know), slaves were used in Britain's Carribean colonies much as they were in the South Eastern USA. The British Empire abolished slavery and the slave trade earlier than the USA did (1833 and 1807 respectively). That was the result of a deliberate campaign by religious Dissenters and liberals (much the same people at the time), which was strongly resisted by the planters and traders. Obviously it is impossible to know what would have happened had that campaign never existed, but I suspect it would have taken much longer for slavery to die out in both Britain and the USA." Jim Kalb answered inter alia: "I'm surprised there was slavery in Britain into the 19th c. I thought Lord Mansfield had held in the previous century that if someone brought a slave into England the slave became free because the laws of England did not recognize the institution. I don't know what the situation was in Scotland." Actually: slavery did not _remain_ in Britain (England at least) _into_ the 19th C, if anything it was reintroduced (or simply introduced, since black slave trade, taken over from Moslems, was different from the early mediaeval slavery) after the independence of US. One of the quarrels between G. III and G. W. was that G. III was an abolitionist. And one reason G. III was an abolitionist is that he wanted to bring colonial custom in accordance with mainland English tradition. Another was of course a conscious effort to abolish the customs relating to piracy and privateering, which were not indigenous to Europe, but had been taken over from Moslems (in the Barbaresque States) a few hundred years earlier, in the Renaissance. How I know the fact (I am guessing about the two motives, but guessing intelligently)? Boswell's Life of Dr Johnson. Dr Johnson (a jacobite, later, from gratitude, a hanoveran tory) was not merely conservative in wanting to keep England free from slavery, he was a reactionary in wanting it back out of English customs anywhere, outside the British Islands too. And Boswell, the whig, the advocate of equality of men in political and social senses, felt that this did somehow not apply to negroes. My answer then is: slavery is, for Christian Europeans, not a piece of ancient tradition, but of lawless, later institutionalised, and still later abandoned modernity. ========= It throws an interesting light on Voyage of the Dawn Treader, in your essay "Kingship in the Inklings" |

//Archonis //http://www.rosenoire.org I am an Occultist of the Left-Hand Path who paradoxically is pro-Catholic; in that the Church has always supported the monarchist beliefs which I espouse and cherish. Although I would not want the Church to have unrestrained secular powers, I would like to see it reign again as the spiritual foundation upon which a new Western Monarchist Empire could be built. I have read several of your articles and have been amazed and fascinated with the depths of your erudition in matters occult; as well as your knowledge and commitment to Western Tradition. In the midst of the Americanism that surrounds us here in Los Angeles, it is good to know there is somebody like you that understands the froth that Republicanism is, and that the West cannot be restored unless it is brought back to its monarchist roots supported by the Catholic Faith. I may be a heretic, but I support Catholicism to the degree that it supports the restoration of a Western Monarachist Imperium. Thank you for your integrity..... |

//Jim M Charles, after hearing you on Coast to Coast and loving your spot on responses and after reading some (not all as of yet) articles on your site, I decided to see if there was anyone out there who disliked or disagreed with you. Internet is a wonderful tool! I came upon your email response to the INQUISITION of Drolesky. He was born in the wrong century!! He would of been a good inquisitor!! I thought your responses made complete sense, that which I understood (which was most), but your knowledge and depth of thought is well beyond my present state. This brings me to my next area of thought. Your apparent deep knowledge of gnostic practices and belief will serve a Divine purpose with George Noory. He is SERIOUSLY flirting with gnosticism in many of it's various forms. He has had several guests speak on this subject (as well as almost any new age subject you can think of). One thing they all have in common is they despise the Catholic Church and consider Her responsible for evil intentions, repressive and regressive thought and action. It's totally amazing to me how varied their ideas are (yet universally wrong) on a lot of subjects but how unified they are in hating the Church (and of course Her Teaching)! Supposedly there are 6 to 12 million people listening to Coast to Coast at any one time so it is an excellent opportunity for evangelization! George has "round table discussions" on subjects such as the Knights Templar with 3 or 4 guests and the Church is in variably misrepresented and attacked with zero representation. It also invariably gets a email or "Fast Blast" response from me to George telling him how unfair this is. I like to think your being on the show was perhaps a response to my emails and prayers (I know your an answer to my prayers!) Would you consider being on one or more of these " roundtable discussions"? I thought I'd ask and get a response from you before emailing George such a request. You most assuredly would be outnumbered (in the physical realm) but you have such a deep knowledge of the Truth on your side (to say nothing of the Holy Spirit, St Michael and all the Saint's) the other guests are easily outnumbered!! Please, ponder and pray about this. JMJ Jim M P.S. If your wondering why I listen to such a program, George has many science, new technology, health and medicine guests on that I really enjoy. I also work in a metal building at night, don't care to listen to music and can get only a couple of am stations. I would love to listen to Catholic programming but it's not available and might get a little "touchy" in the secular environment I find myself working in. I am a convert (1980), been married 26 years in August and have 8 children, the oldest of which is getting married in August, his fiancee came into the Church at Easter. My baby sister came into the Church the last week of her life and (because it would of caused to many problems in the family) had to endure her former Baptist Minister speak to my wife and me (out of 400 attending the funeral) about "Faith alone" and the falseness of a "works" religion. I'm not exgagerating! He looked right at us the whole sermon!! We just smiled for we knew where Phyllis was! I don't struggle at all about loyalty to Christ and this beautiful Church He gave us. It is heartbreaking to witness human imperfection within. That's what the Rosary is for! Thanks for taking the time to read this. Peace, and my prayers are for your worthy mission! PPSS: Tried to email this to you but your spamblocker got me!! |

//moe First, I listen to Coast to Coast semi-regularly, usually on the nights I am off work ( I work nights). Secondly I AM a WICCAN, so presumably I know what I am talking about in regarrds to my RELIGION. Coulombe showed a considerable amount of ignorance about what " witchcraft" is and about Wicca as a valid religion, Yes, WIcca as we know it mow comes from Gardner and Murray in the 1930's. so it "historically" is not a continued survival from ancient times to the present day. However Wicca is a valid religion that took the old myths and beliefs and adapted them to the current era. The inference that Coulombe said that Wicca is of the devil at the end of the broadcast shows his incredible ignorance of the facts. We don't even believe in the devil, much less worship it. Our deities have nothing to do with Christianity or the Bible. Now to his comments about "witchcraft". The definition of the word is muddled, because anthropology. mythology. sociology and pretty much any area of study that mentions "witchcraft" each have different definitions. Anthropology- wise, for example, says "witch" and " witchcraft" for pretty much anything involving hexes,, curss and the like,. The problem with that definition is that it is a general term, not a specific term for a set of beliefs, Thus a "witch" in Brazil, for example, would not be the same " witch' of ancient Greece. Coulombe quotedteh Exodus verse "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live", without explaining the ACTUAL translation OR what the verse is implying. The actual word MIStranslated to "witch" is pharmacopea, IOW poisoner, NOT witch. And the meaning of that verse is obvious. Some Wiccans also call themselves "witches" but they will be the first to tell you they DON'T do hexes or curses, because it violates the Rede. Yes we do have a code of ethical conduct. We're a RELIGION, you know. Now as to the symbols, Coulombe claims that the pentagram we use comes from a " Christian" source, and implies that our use of the pentagram means we are in some way mocking the Christian faith. Not true. The pentagram, like the crescent moon and other symbols, come from myths and beliefs having NOTHING to do with Christianity. Coulombe convienently forgets to mention how the early Catholic Church itself borrowed symbols and beliefs of other faiths., not to mention destroying Pagan worship sites and building churches on the sites AND having some of their saints based on Pagan deities ( like Brigit). And he forgot the rather odd depictions of Shelia Na Gigs on the front door of churches in Ireland. Simply put, a Shelia Na Gig is a rather graphic depiction of a nude female showing her genitalia proudly. And thisis on many older Catholic churches in Ireland. Such ignorance in this age where thei nfo is easly available shows not his actual KNOWLEDGE but his PREJUDICE. I have seen way too many Protestant evangelical Christians claim my religion is of the devil and how they distorted the facts to suit their doctrine ( and in some cases outright LIED). So Coulombe's ignorance of the basic facts but him focusing only on how Wicca came about is both dishonest and a red herring. May I suggest that you contact Kerr Cuhulain, who is a Canadian police officer and a Pagan. He recently has published a book titled " Witch Hunts", which is in essence a refutation of the various claims thatIWcca is evil and so forth. He goes into specifics, including the origins of the satanic ritual abuse hysteria and so forth. I understand that one of the reasons you had Coulombe on was his connection to Malachi Martin., but to be honest, he's more of a doctrine parrot than an actual researcher in these areas. Near the end of the broadcast his reference to Lilith shows only a vague knowledge of the Jewish teachings on Adam's first wife. The actual storyis a bit more complex than what he claims. One more thing, the vampire subject, Yes he was refering to the FOLKLORE vampire as a dead corpse animated by a demon. However even if he limited his definition to folklore, he forgets the folklore of other cultures where the vampire is NOT an animated corpse. The Kappa of Japan, for example is a vampire who lives near water and has a bowl depression on the tiop of its head to hold the water. And there was a least one " historical" folklore case where a dead person who returned as a vampire actually took care of his wife. There are some people who CLAIM they are vampires. Usually Anne Rice fans who do the whole Goth bit. From what I understand of this subculture there are a varied type of vampires. What concerns me is that Coulombe's view of vampires as demons animated corpses would be misused on these LIVE people. Another Catholic, the author of both " The Sussex Bampire" and "The Vampire Hunter Manual", claimed he actually stalked the " vampire" in Sussex cemetary and supposedly destroyed it. You know how vampires are supposed to be destroyed. Stake in heart and head cut off. You can kill the "living" as well that way. Moe eternal FOREVER KNIGHT fan |

//Barbara Sir. I listened to Coast the other night and became very angry with George since he has refused to ask various religious guest's a very simple question, it's his self censorship I object to. So, if you don't mind, I will ask you directly. And a couple more too. They are short & simple. 1.The one I wanted George to ask you. Do you know what the ' word's ' (Messiah Ben David) mean ? 2. Why doesn't the Clergy Class tell the people the truth that The Bible clearly says there were to be 2 Christ's ? Jesus the suffering Messiah, then later the Reigning Messiah. The 2 Annointed One's. Jesus being decended from Nathan and Not of the Kingly Line, which could only come from Nathan's Brother, The King ? 3. What was the Promise GOD made to David ? And finally. Would God have lied to David ? |

| I totally enjoyed your interview with George Noory. I was a big fan of Malachi Martin and bought his books for my mother-in-law. She just loved reading them. Thank you for your keen insight. You kept me on the edge of my seat. Thanks, Gerri |

| I thoroughly enjoyed listening to you speak on Coast to Coast last evening (I caught the last hour or so). It appears that most of the Catholics in America would like a very liberal Pope and the Catholic faith "user friendly" and easy. My contention is that the church has become too easy. I believe that to be a Catholic today is harder than ever in the past. I believe that many are called, but few are chosen. I am not holding my breath that I will be among the chosen few, I hope for the sake of humanity the people come to their senses. Possibly the biggest and most successful lie spun by the devil is to convince the world that he does not exist. |

| Well, I missed you on coast to coast as I went to sleep. I hope to hear you next time and will get one of your books. I had such respect for Father Malachi Martin and am still saddened by his death. He had much to say about the Church which I believe has alot of repenting and staying with truth and not what a group of men want. I have a problem with the Church as I see it today. The United States Church seems to be not of of the Roman Church. Faith is my foundation in my life and I know what I believe. There is a right and a wrong and there is good and evil in this world. Watered down theology will not get us through the rough times we are in. Well, enough of this. I hope to hear you speak soon. I enjoy your web site. By the way, I am a mental health nurse practitioner and see the entire gamut of human suffering: mentally and physically. I also see their confusion about life and all it holds for them. Peace |

Chesterton of our time. Our disgusting, purient, shallow, ready to fall like Babylon fell time! The next few years will be interesting to say the least. The use of "Pro Multis" in the consecration of the Papal Mass by the new pope is still for me a sign of great hope- and I'll cling to it as long as I can! Pax vobis! |

| Sorry, im my earlier comment I meant to say protagonist (regarding George Noory). Shouldn't write commentary after being up for 22 hours! After listening to you last night and reading a few of your articles, I've come to the conclusion you are the CK Chesterson of our time! As a faithful Catholic I do not believe in reincarnation but if there was such a phenomena, you would be an excellent candidate for consideration!! I'm buying several of your books and intend to read every page on your website! Of coarse I will nag George into bringing you back on ASAP!! Thanks and God Bless!! James |

//Mary Being a revolving-door Catholic, the discussion on Coast to Coast grabbed my interest. So much so that I stayed awake all night listening. You've helped renew my faith again. Having been raised in pre-Vatican II, I started doubting the Church as to what was true and what wasn't. Please post where you can be heard on radio or tv. You are a missionary voice that is much needed in the world now. |

| When one looks at the 'big picture' of historical events, the mystical ties between Pope Benedict XV, the Fatima apparitions, St. Mary Faustina Kowalska, Pope John Paul the Great--and now perhaps Pope Benedict XVI--are simply mind-boggling. With the death of Pope John Paul II, many now anticipate a new era in the Church and the world. As you probably know, many believe that John Paul the Great was the 'spark' from Poland (referred to in St. Faustina's diary) that would prepare the world for Jesus' 2nd Coming. If so, wouldn't this '2nd Coming' be an era of peace? Would it not be a new 'springtime' for the Church often hoped for and spoken of by John Paul II? Also, much speculation has gone into the reasons why our new pope chose the name Benedict. However, perhaps the Holy Spirit inspired Cardinal Ratzinger to take the name Benedict as well. The Fatima apparitions (of which John Paul II has been linked to in mystical prophecy) began under the short reign of Pope Benedict XV (1914-1922). If the the long-awaited triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart and 'period of peace' promised by Our Lady at Fatima occurs during the reign of the current Benedict XVI--their two papacies would in effect represent the beginning and fulfillment of the Fatima apparitions and prophecies. Perhaps history would see the papacies of the two Benedicts as 'historical bookends' of the Fatima story. |

| Heard you on Coast to Coast. A Godsend you are! I work nights and am a steady listener to Noory. A love/hate relationship! He would call me his Catholic prognasticator. You can't be back on soon enough for me! In His Love, Jim M |

//James If I may be so pithy...it's funny how "all roads lead to Rome". As someone with more exposure to the Occult than I'd care to admit,I now find a powerful inspiration frm Roman Catholicism, partially indebted to St. Edith Stein and her Works. For the first time in many years I feel grounded and more secure within the construct of this material/supernatural World. Your outlook is right on target with my current learnings of Catholic thought.Keep up the Good Work. Peace |

//Avi This is quite silly. The fact of the matter is that our greed has consumed the planet and our futures. I do not think a monarch, or even a mythical cloud being, can right the disaster we have wrought. To quote Tracy Chapman: "Heaven's here on earth. In our faith in humankind, in our respect for what is earthly, in our unfaltering belief in peace and love and understanding..." Our salvation, if it is possible in our globally warmed world, will stem from the ordinary people, whose sacrifice is far more noble than any pageantry performed by our overseers. |

Many a constitutional Monarch unhesitatingly accepts whatever his ministers put across, since to do otherwise would not merely be political suicide, but would be (so the Monarch thinks) opposing his people. Yet republican experience indicates the opposite. Nevertheless, it has always seemed that this reality is never commented upon." Feel free to have my essay translated to English |

| Do you have the website or other method of signing up for the New Triumph? Regarding Fr. Feeney: Can't we understand the Council of Trent's chapter on justification as St. Thomas believed, that is, if one believes what the Church believes and vows to receive baptism, that God justifies them and will take them into heaven under these rare circumstances? I am here not referring some vague desire. Ludwig Ott classifies this as sententia fide proxima which is some thing we have to believe by faith if I not mistaken so its seems we should not rule out this possibility under the strict requirements above. Your reply is appreciated. Ora pro nobis sancta Dei genitrix, Michael +JMJ+ |

| Just read your article on American Catholicism. I have being heading down your path since I read Humanis Generis (spelling?) by Leo XIII. CConservatism is really liberalsim and the rejection of the Church's social teaching. I am convinced that Vatican II has had bad results and has added to "titularism". Mass of Paul VI will need to be eventually repressed. I have come to be a monarchist, but I recognize that that viewpoint puts me in the "kook" catagory. At this point, I don;t know what to do but pray and work. |
