| WOW!!! This years Alumni Weekend was wonderful. There are no words to describe it. The Hildegard Stanley Music Center looks great. It was so good to see so many of you there. Those of you that could not be there were missed!! As the alumni choir sang, "Expression of Gratitude" I could not help but think there could not have been a more appropriate song. Ths sound was glorious!! It was a blessing to all who were there. I hope all of you will be thinking ahead about next year and plan to attend alumni weekend. It is truly a time when we can come together again and sing under Hiddie's direction and get a chance to catch up on everyone. Also, please be in prayer for our Choir Alumni Project. Next year you will get to see what we have placed in the building in honor of Hiddie!! |

The Stanley Music Center Dedication was wonderful. We hope that it will continue the legacy started by Miss Stanley. We are both grateful to Miss Stanley for pouring so much of her life into us! Proud to wear the beanie!

I am trying to figure out how to get down there for this great alumni weekend coming up. Go Hiddie! You got your own wing....but I'm surprised they haven't named the whole darn campus after you by now! :)

Hey guys!
I want to encourage everyone to come and participate in Alumni weekend, April 4 - 5. There is a schedule on the home page of the college choir webpage. Rehearsal is at 7:00 on Friday. It is always such a great experience and this year will be very special, because it is the dedication of the new wing of the music building, called: The Hildegard Stanley Music Center. The alumni choir gets to sing for the dedication. So, how cool is that!! You will not want to miss it!!

| Amy, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers will be with you..... Alissa, you know Niki never could keep her eyes off me...Hiddie either for that matter. Although Hiddie's gaze was more like Superman boring a hole in my head with a laserbeam....Now for a little update, I've been transfered with my job as a probation officer to a field office instead of West Georgia Boot Camp where I've been for 8 years. Can you believe that the State is actually going to give me a gun and allow me to carry it. I even bought a little pouch to keep my bullet warm in my shirt pocket. Hope everyone is well... |

| Wanted to let everyone know that my husband, Paul Bebout, passed away November 15, 2007 from a pulmonary embolism (blood clot to the lung). He had had a kidney and pancreas transplant and developed the clot at some point after surgery. I am doing okay. God is giving me the strength that I need. I am very positive and my faith is strong. Ok, so for those of you just having kids, it is so good when they are old enough to take care of themselves!!!!!!
Whew!!!
We have moved again and are now in Pinellas County Florida again. I now work for The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast in the Foundation. God is good. We have a beautiful home and two great kids. Life near the beach is a good thing!!!
I just met a fellow BPC alumni today who works here as well. William Harper is the Director of our HIV Services and programs here.
It is a small BPC world out there.
If you are ever near Clearwater, look me up!!!

Here we are 10 years later and I can just see the two of you shooting looks right through the 2nd soprano section at each other. And yes Chris, pretty sure Hiddie had more ailments than Carpal Tunnel from trying to keep you in line! Zoe had a few ailments from the same thing!

We are pleased to announce the birth of our son, Aidan Walker Peters. Walker was born on Nov. 28th and weighed in at 8 lbs 14 oz. Misty is doing well and we already have him an orange & blue outfit to wear to Alumni Weekend. Proud big sister Alannah is a great help to us! She will be 6 in February. Our family is now complete.

| Hello folks! Just wanted to update everyone...we are expecting our first little one in May! Alumni weekend is at the beginning of the time the dr has asked me not to travel...so I'm still on the fence about whether or not to show up! (Since Simpson has thrown down the gauntlet, I may have to take the trip! Funny how we live less than 30 miles apart and we never see each other!) Just wanted to let everyone know that Hiddie had double knee replacement surgery on September 24th. The doctors said that she would possibly have to be in the hospital for a couple months for rehabilitation. You know you can keep Hiddie down!!! Well, to the surprise of her doctors, after three weeks she is now back at home and doing really well!!
Hoping to see everyone at Alumni Weekend April 4-6, 2008!!! This will be a great reunion as we celebrate the dedication of the Hildegard Stanley Music Center. For those who haven't seen it, you are truly going to be amazed.

Hi all,
what to say? It's been years since I was that scared young lady setting foot on BPC campus for the first time. Thanks to my choir family and Miss Stanley, that fear didn't last long. It's great to read notes from friends.
I don't recall the source, but with us, these words are truest: "a friend is someone who knows the song of your soul and sings it back to you when you've forgotten the words."
Miss Stanley knows the truth of that statement---methinks, that's why she started the "beanie" and Choir Week traditions.
Thank you, Hiddie, for teaching us to listen to the songs of our souls and singing them back to us when we forgot them. |

I use to always think that Hiddie was waving at me during a concert to just say hello, but I think see really wanted me to stop singing so loud. She got carpal tunnel during my years. Just to catch everyone up, I got married no kids that I'm aware of, living in Bremen GA and I'm a Probation Officer. No Nikki I'm not ON probation. Ooops, sorry about the first one. You'd think it was my first time on the web or something. Hello, everyone. I was recently looking at the Lamplighter and couldn't keep a grin off of my face. It was so good to see familiar faces, names and places. BPC has always held a special place in my heart as well as all the wonderful people there. TI thought I would let everyone know where I am these days. My husband, John, finally retired from the Marine Corps after 29 years. We are living in Stafford, VA. It is located 40 miles south of Washington, DC and 13 miles north of Fredericksburg. Stop by any time and say hi! We have been here now almost three years. Who knows how much longer. You have to be where the jobs are. However, I would love to be back home in Georgia. I get to visit maybe twice a year. I do plan to be at next year's reunion though. It has been far too long since I was there. I am sure I would not recognize the place.

I received my issue of The Lamp today and thought I'd log on and see faces of the past.
Congratulations "Hiddie Joe"!!! What fond memories I have of BPC choir. I was among the choir with...John Conner, Clarice and Nelda Huddleston, Gene Allgood, Jenny Lowe, Traci Craft Felts, Kim Marshall, Amy Goff... so many more..those are just some that stick out in my mind.
I reside in my home of Statesboro and attend the FUMC here where Pierce Dickens is organist! I've been very happily married for 10 years and am entering my 9th year of teaching Kindermusik and piano. I currently serve on the board for the Statesboro Council for the Arts and the Statesboro Youth Chorale board, as well. Life is keeping me very busy and am looking forward to a break this summer!

Actually I am just finishing my 41st year with the college, 35 in the music division and 6 years as Consultant to the President.
Will be honored with an honorary doctorate at graduation on May 12th at 10:00 a.m. and am providing a luncheon following graduation for my family and friends, that includes music alumni.

Hello everyone! This site is so neat! I didn't even know it existed until Ms. Stanley mentioned it in a recent email. I just thought I would give you all a bit of an update. I am married now to Marty Graham of Milan. We have a little girl who will be a year old on May 31st of this year. Her name is Ella Cate. She is such a doll, and we are so proud of her! She is the first baby in our family, so you can imagine how spoiled she is by her grandparents and her Aunt Carrie (BPC 1992-1995)! Marty and I live in Milan (near Eastman) with our daughter and my stepson Hunter. Hunter is ten years old and is in the fourth grade at South Dodge Elementary in Eastman. | lt had been over 36 years since seeing the campus at BPC. I attended the first of alumni gatherings this year and enjoyed every minute of the celeberation. I meet a lot of folks and hopefully new friends. for those that were not able to attend , you missed a wonderfull fellowship and time around the campfire. When I left ehe campus after the spring quarter of 1970 I did not finish my degree persuit.....now I am returning after 37 years ; to finish!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS EVERY ONE |

Those of you who were not at this year's alumni weekend were truly missed. WE had 40 in the alumni choir and the sound was glorious and as usual singing under Hiddie's direction was wonderful. Good day all,
Just wanted to post a quick message to wish everyone well. Things are great and busy on my end. I graduated a year early (2000-2003) and went right into the work world. Since college I have worked for the CBS television station in Augusta for 2 years doing marketing and promotions and have since moved jobs and now work for the Morris Museum of Art since May 2006. I married last year as well to Jason Rosenthal. We dated all through college (as Im sure many of you remember) and are really enjoying married life. I am still teaching aerobics and personal training as well. I miss Choir, Baron Singers and Baron Ringers...those where the days and I was truly blessed to be apart of them. I was the Music Department from February 1963 to May 1964--about a year and a half--to take over for the previous director, Christie Kinsaul. Since choir directing wasn't my main interest, I resigned from the Music Department and was asked to teach in the English Department. So, from then on I was associated with the choir as Hiddie directed many of them into my classes as I was sympathetic to their touring/engagement absences while other instructors were not. Anyway, I was at BPC until May 1972 when I moved to Beaufort, SC to teach music there. It's always nice to see and meet students again who were either in the choir or in my English classes.

I'm getting married (finally)!!!! At the age of 40 I decided it was time to settle down. ;)
My fiance's name is Paul Bebout. We have been dating for about 3 years. Paul has a 9 year old son, Steven. I have never been happier and am so thankful God brought Paul and Steven into my life. Definitely worth the wait!! Paul and I are very excited and feel extremely blessed that God allowed our paths to cross!!

| I was so nervous going to BPC..but the imfamous "beanie week"..allowed me feel at home. I loved my first two years at BPC and the friends i made over the years from BPC. I loved singing, and i loved the choir. I remember being so nervous during the audition with MRs. Stanley..my hands were all sweaty and i was worried i would not make the cut..lol So long ago...I remember the first time i saw the campus and Kenny Peters toured me and a group of high school students and parents. I knew then i wanted to go to BPC..and i am proud to say i was a part of the choir...some of my best memories... |

Well, its been a long, long time since I have heard from many of you. However, it seems just like yesterday I was being led around by a leash and collar as a freshmen choir member. Times have moved along though and I find myself back in the Southeast Georgia location. I will agree with many of the other comments. Hiddie and my association with her ministry through Youth Music Camp in Toccoa, the BPC Choir experience, and beyond, has shaped my life in many ways. Hi everyone! I am living and working in the north Florida, southeast Georgia area. I'm teaching music, art, and computer lab at Saint George Elementary School (K-6th.) | I so miss everyone from BPC! I know that there are some people still living in good 'ole Mt. Vernon, and hopefully I will be able to visit at some point in time. | Wow has it been that long? I didnt know if the pulldown box would even have the years from that far back. I have always been proud to tell anyone who would listen that I was one of Hiddie's Biddies. It meant a great deal to me and still does. I recently retired as principal of East Laurens High in Dublin after 33 years in education. Still crazy after all these years. I would love to hear from any of the choir and Folklores from 68-69. We're having a baby! My husband and I found out in July right before our mission trip and we're so excited!!! To add more good news, we will be settling into our new house next week and the following week I start my new job as the Character Develpoment teacher at the 5th & 6th grade school! My due date is March 16, 2006, but we'll see.

On November 14 of last year, at the beach on St. Simons Island, my boyfriend handed me a fortune cookie with a slip of paper inside that stated "Will you marry me?" and an engagement ring So, on July 16th of this year I will be getting married to Sean Greene in our Brewton Parker's very own Saliba Chapel!!

Steve and Jean Brackett became grandparents again on June 9th....Steve's daughter Dana Flood gave birth to a baby boy, Ryan Patrick Flood, at 5:06 PM. This is Dana and Daniel Flood's second son. Daniel Joseph Flood the V is their other child. Dana's mother, Angie witnessed the birth of Ryan and said it was a wonderful experience being present.....

| Hello everyone! I do want to apologize to those whom I have not seen at BPC during alumni weekend. I was unable to attend and really wanted to. Carla, my wife, has had knee problems and had to go to the hospital during that Friday of alumni weekend. Her knee is a little better now and seems as though there is a sub location according to the orthopedic doctor. She just needs to do leg exercises now and the doctor wants to see her in a month. Alumni Weekend 2004 was special for so many reasons. It truly speaks volumes when you see a friend that you haven't seen in over 25 years and it seems that you just saw them yesterday! God has blessed so many of us with bonds of friendship that can't be broken. Hiddie, we love you and appreciate what to mean to all of us, personally, as well as to the life of Brewton-Parker College.
I suppose I want to present a challenge to all choir members- for each of us to "step up" our level of commitment to BPC. This can be through time, money, prayers, recruiting students in our hometowns, etc. We all have different resources; but God has given much to all of us!
I know that many friendships are renewed and believe that we will all stay in touch. Thanks, again, for this website. Several of us are talking about how we can get together, periodically, for online chats. Those of you who took pictures this past weekend...PLEASE send them to be posted!!! |

| What a wonderful weekend! David, I agree with you about singing with the choir. Something has been missing in my life as well and it just built over the weekend! Seeing all my old friends was SO wonderful! Hiddie, I will be there every year for as long as I can! Thanks to all of you who worked so hard - it meant more to many of us than you can imagine! This is the 4th alumni weekend I have
attended and it gets better every time!
I think with age we all appreciate what
BPC meant to us and how it touched

| WOW! I just returned from Alumni Weekend and all I can say is AWESOME! It was sooooo wonderful to see so many old friends from my years at BP. Hiddie, it was especially wonderful to see you and I want you to know that singing with the choir again really sparked something in my heart that has been missing for a long time. I truly know that God brought you into my life to teach me things that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I love you! |

| This is so cool! I loved BPC, and hated coming back to the "big city" of Jacksonville, but I keep all the memories with me (including my beanie!). I have two beautiful children, and am about to go through a divorce (a good thing, trust me), and wish I could come up to visit sometime, but I'm also working two jobs. Keep in touch. Ms. Stanley, you will always be an inspiration to me. Love ya!! |
