| Comments: | as a descedant of a member of the big Ruffing family, of Bexbach, Saarland, Germany, I know that there was a Peter Ruffing who emigrated to Traunau/Hungary, probably with his whole family and that there were descedants of him living in Traunau.

Did he travel with a companion? All that is a mystery. I would like to find someone who may know his family and let me know more details about his life. His father and mother were Heinrich and Eva Schankula. His brother is Kaspar who emigrated to Canada and raised his family there. Also have 2nd cousins in Ontario who came from Traunau after WWII. Peter (deceased) and Anne Reiss, nee Ruppert. My grandmother's sister, Barbara Reiss was able to emigrate from Traunau to Canada in the late 1950's or early 60s. |
