I just checked out your opinions about robin hood movies, I agree in all points!!! There´s one more thing I like about your site. Just like me you like the sadness in ROS! The most german fans seem to hate Jason Connery. They never gave him and the 3rd series a chance. My first ROS episodes were LORD OF THE TREES and THE INHERITANCE, so I knew from the start: there are two robins and I liked both. When I watched the series complete from the start, I was wondering, who the blonde robin would be... I love it!!! Jason was very different from Michael, both did a very good Job. From the beginning there are so many sad moments in the story (the atmosphere in THE GREATEST ENEMY + HERNES SON is beautiful sad). It makes sense that the series became darker after locksleys death. So I think it´s good that Robert and Marion never get each other. I like the end of TIME OF THE WOLF. Maybe it´s true. There are some moments in the 3rd series that i would call trashy. Strange music, stupid lookin villians (Hernes son + time of the wolf), and bad effects (cromm cruac is terrible).... I don´t know who´s to blame, maybe the regisseurs. Richard Carpenter and Anthony Horowitz did a very good Job, all storys are great. I think the first two series are perfect masterpieces. But Episodes like THE CROSS...,THE PRETENDER or ADAM BELL (I love the winter episodes) are fantastic too. | Anything you'd like to add?: | I've just resently rediscovered Robin of Sherwood after watching it on tv as a child in the eighties.
I can't believe how under rated Jason Connery's Robin is(or Robert if you like?),i love the way his character progresses through series 3.I think if they did make that forth series alot more people would have accepted him and enbraced him in the role. Nickolas Grace is brilliant as the dastardly sheriff,it always makes me laugh when he out hams everyone that shares a scene will him. Ray Winstone as Will Scarlet is just the daddy! My favorite episode is Cromm Cruac,great stuff from Anthony Horowitz.It would be interesting finding out what other peoples favorite episodes are? (I know it a tough choice). Great web site keep up the good work! |

the best tv series ever and Clannad's album Legend is my favorite cd of all time!! I saw ROS for the first time 17 years ago and I haven't seen anything which entertained me more since! There was another British tv series though in the late seventies called Children of the stones, I vaguely remember it but that made a big impression on me too.
