Comments:Hi Betty Lou, just discovered your site. It's brilliant, thanks so much! One small point: you have listed the song "I was only 19" under the John Williamson section but in fact that song was written by John Schumann of a fantastic Australian folk band called Redgum. Schumann wrote brilliant songs: funny, satirical and political. I'm a huge fan. Anyway thanks again.

I just had to congratulate you on your superb site. I`m a ukulele player over here in England and forever looking for material to play. I am a member of a Uke band which has just been formed in order to promote music as a pastime, It`s called UkeToo. There are a lot of new players in the band and they are getting a taste for older music. Your site is great because you also provide midi samples which are priceless if you`ve never heared the song before. Many, many thanks for your efforts.

Regards Pete.

Comments:Betty Lou,

For more than a year I have been coming to your website seeking words and music to some of my favorite songs as I teach myself how to play a ukulele.

I cannot thank you enough for what you do here. I know that I will never be a great or even competent ukulele player, but I know that I will always be a joyful player and an enthusiastic one, too, thanks to you.

And you have added immensely to the joy by recently listing the lyrics and chords for the Maya the Bee song, at my request.

I will learn this song for my little granddaughter, Maya. I will also tell her how the song came to be transcribed. I will tell her that each of us has the potential to make someone else very happy. And we have this potential every single day of our lives by who we are and what we do with what we have. When we are really blessed is when we know that what we have done in the day mattered, meant something to someone, and added a measure of happiness in this world.

Thanks,
George

I hope you can be the answer to my prayers.

Comments:We're both on the same wavelength. Thank you very much for spending so much of your time bringing back so many memories. I play live gigs and although I'm an old hand I find that people of all ages prefer music that lifts the soul whether its 5 or 105 years old. I peronally find the 50's to 80's stuff the most popular. It's a shame I didn't find much more after that time but I'm sure others will disagree, that's life, thanks again.

Thanks so much for posting this today on you 'Updates' page. Makes me realize what I'm missing if I don't listen to the songs there just because I don't know them. Took a chance on this one, what a thrill.

Also your cord patterns are very good, kept simple and have helped me add many songs to my playing that used to take me weeks to listen over and over to the music and try to figure out the patterns. Again God Bless You and Thanks again. Oh one song from the 5o's I can't find is "I left my Heart in SanFrancisco" . You have some of T Bennet on your site but not that one. i started playing guitar last week, nights getting longer and
all the way out here in the woods, and waiting for the mrs to have our baby (born yesterday!).
did a little searching for songs i knew i could sing along to
and loved, most of which (strange for a kid my age and lifestyle, i'll tell you) are oldies of a kind now rare and endangered. it was the Jarmel's "little bit of soap" that got me here,it's the lovely clean airs all over that will keep me coming back. thanks so much for doing what you do, i can't wait to learn more to sing for our new family out here.

Comments:Love your website! And your chords for Sandie Shaw's Girl Don't Come are spot on! The lyrics are a bit off, however. Forgive me for correcting: You have a date for half-past eight tonight; Some distant bell starts chiming nine... The time rolls on, those minutes fly by... You hurt inside, you wanna die, oh... And so on. But I have to thank you, because with your chords, we have worked this beautiful song into our band's repertoire (I sing in a lower key, but it is still simply a beautiful song). Love the dogs' photos. I have a bearded collie, Maggie (my precious companion!). Thanks for everything! :o)

Thanks for your wonderful site! I am an English teacher. I often use your site to find lyrics and songs to play on my guitar in my classroom for my students. I also share your site my guitar-playing students. What a blessing your site is for a guitar underdog like me.

Thanks for all your hard work. Keep it up!

It's well laid out and so easy to access the songs.

Thanks and keep up the good work

You provide an invaluable service for those of us that can't pick apart a song and find the chords that go with it. My music books are filled primarily from your website. I like the way the songs and chords are in large print and easy to read. Very nice when it gets a little dark at the campfire. I hope to someday see the song 'Burning Bridges' from the 1970 movie 'Kelly's Heroes' on here. Keep up the great work!!!

Comments:I have been enjoying this site so much over the past couple of weeks. My 8 year old son has been taking guitar, so I've wanted to find him songs he can play. It's given me a push to practice also, so that I can show him what to do. I'm terribly rusty, but now I'm playing for an hour or more nearly every night. I've been loving your collection and taste, and playing Slade, Roxy Music, The Stones, The Clash, John Denver, Johnny Cash, and so many fabulous others. Thanks very much for putting this site together and maintaining it for all of us. You're a really fabulous dog.

Comments:Incedible site. Found it looking for lyrics, chords to 'The Village of St. Bernadette' by Andy Williams. Tried before, but no luck. Your layout and chords are great. Made copies for my guitar group, they loved it.

A group of my cronies, about fifteen of us get together once a week and play for a couple of hours. Then we go to seniors homes, hospital, etc. to have sing alongs for the people there.

We have accumulated a large number of songs ourselves, but this site will allow us to do more. Couldn't believe you had 'Gesthemame'(sp.?) from J.S. Superstar. About 35 years ago when that album came out I tried writing the lyrics by hand. Would love to know who puts the lyrics and chords down and how they go about it. Would love a page on how to put chords to songs you hear on the radio.
Love this site, love it, love it, love it. Keep up the good work! Also, thanks so much for the 'How to Play Blues Pages'. We are all past 60 so like thinks that are simply put.

Sandra from Canada.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for your site. I am coming up 60 and have played around with guitar for 40 odd years and never got anywhere. Comments:Well, this is my greatest guitar internet site ever! I'm 60 and recently taken up acoustic guitar again, and and brought myself an old VW camper. As my wife and I have been travelling around and playing my guitar to myself, people have come up and asked me to play round their campfire. I was totally lost for material sing-a-long stuff, and evening finished as soon as it started really!! BUT NO MORE, thanks to your site, I have everything I need representing my age group too!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH, for your site and the way you have laid out the music, especially repeating the chords over all the verses - this makes life very easy when playing. THNAK YOU! Best regards to you Paul

Comments:Hi Betty

Wonderful site! Very indebted to you for showing me how to play songs with such easy chords. I had no formal training in Guitars. When I started, I could not even tune a guitar!

With your superb website, I am a happy fella - supplying my 'horrible' vocals to the chords you have to a mountain of tunes. Most sites give "too-advanced" chords for starters like me, that will break the finger bones on my left hand.

Will be great if you could please whack in some fabulous Lionel Richie / Commodores tunes ..

Thank you, Betty.

Warmest wishes,
Billy

However that said and done, I believe you have a VERY good concept. A friend of mine does his tabs the same way and the way you lay it out is so easy for anyone to learn and play.

You need to be "CONGRATULATED" on a job well done. Outstanding effort. You must spend hours Tabbing and uploading for the benefit of us all.

For someone like me - in his 40s and just started out with his first guitar, an absolute beginner .. this is really a God-sent site. No need to use difficult, hard-to-hold bombastic augmented, diminished chords, just plain good old Am, G, Em, A7, chords and I am on my way to musical bliss. I have not tried the instrumental bit yet as I have to work out all the chords but I am sure it is right. The rest of the song is perfect I have just played along with the original. I am so thrilled. Comments:I love your website! You have done a lot of work, and it helps me learn how to play my favorite songs the way they should sound.
My daughter would like to see you add more current songs like "Move Along" by All American Rejects, and "The Only Difference" by PANIC! at the Disco.
I would like to find a way to view the lyric/chord page and the hear the midi at the same time.
I am awed by the number of songs you have done, and you have my grateful admiration.
Thank you,
Kimbery

To others who use Betty Lou's site and happen to be located in Melbourne, Australia: I would like to put together a group of friends to occasionally get together for a jam session. Comments:Stumbled accross this site and its the best for us novice players by a mile. Such a large amount of tabs means even a novice like me can play numerous songs and impress my friends. i also like the midi links gives you a sense of tempo which is handy when you have no rythmn.
Keep up the good work

Comments:Betty,

If i were to have a vote for the person who contributed most to my musical enjoyment and expansion, you would be at the top of the list.

That's including all musicians i so thourouly enjoy. Why?
Because you have the unique ability to put them within our grasp, to learn and to share. Truly, you have done more for my musical education than i could of ever imagined. You make guitar playing a true adventure by daily posting a couple of new tunes to work on.

Now i can carry hundreds of songs with me anywhere i go and expand your influence. You are truly a blessed individual and i can see all here agree.

I know you have many requests, but IF it is possible, could you put up some more Tim McGraw?

Although i usually lean towards rock and pop, Tim is outstanding in the country genre and i just can't get enough of him.

But of course, i won't be dissapointed if he doesn't show up anytime soon. I understand that your workload has to already be full to the brim.

I love you Betty!

Comments:AWESOME website!!! Totally incredible!!! I play ukulele, and, yes, I am just a bit challenged. These tabs really hit the spot -- they are ALL the songs I really love, easy enough for me to play. The only song missing was Take Me Home Country Roads. Could you add that?

Thanks again -- truly mind-blowing!!!

Comments:Magnificent web- site. Found it yesterday and I feel like Aladin must have done when he said Open Sez me. Brilliant and thank you for the hard work you have put in and the wonderfully easy way the website is set out. So refreshing to get to something you like without all the adverts, popups and the painful, time consuming ways you have to look at most sites. And to have this without paying...amazing. Thanks again.
