It is family history that I am a decendant of Francis and Samual Eaton of the Mayflower. I do not have any proof, as my father was a "black sheep" not to mention that he was a con man and an a..h...e. He was born in the Lake George area of NY in the 1930's and left when he was a teenager. His name was Paul Willard Eaton, his father was Willard Paul Eaton. Family tradition passed down the names of Francis, Daniel, and Priscilla, though I do not know his side of the family very well, and most of them have passed on. | |

My great-grandfather, grandfather, and father were all named Joseph Oriel Eaton. My great-grandfather was a landscape and portrait painter, who studied and worked in Yonkers, NY, but had a farm in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and was part, with his wife Emma, of the underground railroad. He died in 1875. My grand-father, who was the founder of Eaton Manufacturing Corp. of Cleveland, OH,(now The Eaton Corp.) was born in 1873 and was originally named Harrison Eaton, and was renamed Joseph Oriel after his father's death. Extremely interesting research. My branch of the Eaton family originated from the London area. My grandfather emigrated from England to Western Australia early in the 20th century. He had 10 children of whom my father was the eldest.Hence there is a large contingent of Eatons in Western Australia. | |

My dad and his 2 brothers, all Eaton's in their 80's know very little about their Eaton heritage. Only as far back as their grandfather Malcolm born around 1875 but they do not know where. Lots of Eaton's who are relatives in Colorado and California so I have some searching to do. | |

My ancestor Adam de Peshale (the village is now called Pershall near Eccleshall), Sheriff of Staffordshire and Shropshire, married Joan de Eyton in around 1341. She must have been of the Shropshire Eytons. de Peshale has morphed into many, including Pearsall, my grandmother's names. | |
