Comments:A week ago there was electricity and excitement in the air for our 50th class reunion. WOW, it was awesome! Friday evening was quite interesting at the Bamboo Grill, as the familiar faces appeared... well, there were a few that had to identify themselves but that was to be expected... A variation of conversations surrounded the room, with a lot of smiles! A great beginning of our weekend together.
Some of us had the opportunity to experience a bit of nostalgia by visiting the sweet shop/coffee shop in Bernardsville Saturday afternoon... some things never change much! Everyone had the opportunity to do what they wanted prior to the 'nuts and bolts' of why were there... the evening began at 6:00 for cocktail hour, pictures taken, memorabilia displayed (such as original cheerleading pictures, graduating class picture on the bleachers), name tags, yearbooks with updated information and the fun began! So much conversation, dancing and happiness all evening. Everyone looked wonderful! The food, entertainment and photographer were terrific.
Our 50th was a success because of YOU!
I want to thank the committee: Jim DeCoste, Don Goss, Dick Pilch, Pam Welsh and Wayne Wasiler... a job well done! Also, Joan Snyder for a powerful Blessing... Carol DeCoste for our flower centerpieces and corsages... Pam and Jim for taking over the microphone! Bob Meszar for 'warning' The Bamboo Grill we were going to be there Friday evening and getting pictures ready for display in the digital picture frame for Saturday night... If I missed anyone, forgive me...
The feedback is rewarding and I would like to thank you.
If anyone who was not with us, wants an updated yearbook, please send me a check for $12. and I will send you one.
Does anyone want a 'less elaborate' reunion sooner than 5 years? Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
Attendees: Elaine Barto, Dave Palmer, Gladys Smith, Janet McDougall, Tom Olivo, Sandy Rumple, Pam Welsh, Don Goss, Roger Haskell, Richard DeCoster, Leni Neher, John Sullivan, Joan Snyder, Barbara English, Mary Barkman, Marilyn Ord, Sue Clymer, Jean Wood, Steve Drost, Bruce Watson, Barbara Weigand, Chris Wood, Lenny Bailey, Gail Beatty, Bruce Menne, Janice Hobbie, Ann Wilson, Ray Berg, Wayne Wasiler, Margy Barz, Amos Hawkins, Herman Schneider, Pat Chester, Pam Pryor, Jim DeCoste, Ed Amerman, John Davis, Pete McDougall, Joan Riccaridi, Bob Meszar, Lucille Ricco, Barbara Sutton and Bill Kirchiro.
Stay well...

Comments:Hi, I graduated BHS in 1960 with many fond memories. I was also a Bonnie Brae boy and remember the wonderful treatment I received from my fellow students and especially their parents. High School graduation is a time of fullfilling dreams and seeking future opportunities.

I would like to thank my brother George who puts so much work into creating and maintaining this and other websites.

Comments:Greetings from an A.F.S. exchange student who had the opportunity to live as an BHSer during the academic year of 1964. Would you please help me find the whereabouts of some of my 1964 graduation classmates ? It is a "dream" come true if I could at least find one I have been very keen in getting in touch with.
With my anticipated thanks.

Comments:I was a member of the class of 1956 and would like to know if there is a reunion for the 50th year in 2006. At the time of the 25th year I inquired at the school and was misinformed that there wasn't to be any event planned and belatedly found there had been an excellent reunion.

Comments:I had a great time at the 45th reunion, and thank Gail for taking the time and trouble to get the info on those of us that were herded off to a new school in our senior year. It was a real downer!!And they have never had a reunion. Some school spirit they didn't have. Look forward to hearing from anyone that wants to keep in touch and catch up on what's going on in each other's lives.

Comments:I still have many fond memories of BHS. Mr. Krumbagel, taught World History and was THE guidance counselor, also the Track coach -- I was a manager for the Track team, and got my sports letter that way. Also the band (Mr. Cotter, or am I confusing this with college?), and marching in the Memorial Day Parade, after which we'd all go to the Palmer's (thier dad was a lawyer with an office on Olcott Square) house for a pool party. Mrs. Rogers (Terry's mom) was also a big band supporter. Coach Dunn (Willie Dunn-Dunn), who also taught Trig -- we kept track of the ties he wore in the classroom. Let's not forget our undefeated, untied Football season (56-57?). Mrs. Harvey (today we'd say Ms), the Latin teacher -- "We have eyes but we do not see, we have ears but we do not hear." Mr. Sprague, who taught Plain Geometry as a course in learning how to think and reason, and made it fun. Mr. Walkum, who came to class that fateful morning, even though he wasn't feeling well, to review the mid-year exam with us; they took him to the hospital during second period, where he died later that day from a burst appendix; when you check your yearbook, you''ll find a special dedication. Stevie Jay, with whom I had US History in my Jurnior and Senior years; he was a bachelor, who took advantage of Greyhound's $99 See-America fare every summer -- he gave me a love of US History that I've never lost. One-eyed "Happy Nappy Pappy," my home room teacher for three years, and also my English teacher for three years; I recall diagramming sentences, something which is no longer done (no comment). Mr Brasher, who went to Ridge in 57-58, was my English teacher in my Senior Year; I remember Great Books, and being challenged to write a short story as part of the creative writing program; I also recall him bringing in a recording of Debussy's Three Nocturnes (still one of my favorites), and writing our reactions to the music. I also recall one young lady, whom EVERYONE agreed had a stupendis "pair." And dancing during Friday gym class, with the girls in bobby sox and skirts that blew out when they twirled (with each other, as all the boys stuck close to the wall)
