Comments:Nice Job! On taking the long lost art of Drywall and giving home owners the false reality that they can do what takes trained professionals YEARS to master not a weekend.WIth the housing market and downturn you have (by your own recourse and Greed)given your fellow tradesmen even LESS work then they already dont have in these towns.

The internet is all about sharing information and your site is the living proof. Words fail me to say how much your help was and is appreciated.

If you ever come to Montreal, let me know. You've got a friend here.

Best regards.

Comments:Mike,

What can I say...the information in your site for a DIY'er such as myself is unparralelled on the net. We are renovating one of our motels in Arkansas and my boss purchased a Graco texture rig and has requested to see if I could learn to texture/re-texture all of the rooms on the property. After some practice and moderate success I was a little less then totally happy with the overall consistancy of my work. I finally came across your site one nite and decided to spend the 10 bucks to see what you had to say about creating the knockdown and orange peel look and needless to say I now know that my money was well spent. We've decided to purchase a small bulk of the USG product and experement... and today I did just that!!! The product worked great and the consistency was excellent (am very happy). Even tried my hand at a little remodeling (removing a partition wall and creating an arched entry way) and am suprised to say that with the tips and tricks that I got from your page that the project turned out fairly respectfull.

My thoughts on your site:

Money well spent...

Saved me time and my boss money...

The information was the key that I needed to achieve the look that we desired...

Would recomment this site to anyone...

Kudos to you for sharing your wisdome for guys like me...

I thank you Mike for the awesome tips and tricks and my boss thanks you for saving another dent in his wallet.

P.S. My boss now likes the texture look so much that he possibly would like me to come to one of his other properties in Texas and help them do the same thing down there (yay...I mean um...YaY) lol.

Thanks again,

Corey M. (Got Maintenance???)

Comments:Mike,
I am about to start a kitchen remodel upon which I plan on removing the existing soffit. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to match the texture to the ceiling on the drywall that will replace the soffit. I searched and searched…. I would find a few mentions of it but nothing that really explained what to do. I was thinking of experimenting with mud and a wet sponge but I am glad I did more searching today because I found your website. I didn’t even know what to call the texture so I wasn’t sure how to search for information about it. I performed a google image search today for “textured ceilings” thinking I could find some info and there it was! An image showing the exact texture on my ceiling… and even better, a name! Slap Brush, Panda Feet, etc… Great! Now I have a starting point to perform more research…
And then I saw it… Detailed instruction on how to apply the texture for a mere $10. Well, let’s just say you are now $10 richer and I have the information I need to apply the texture to match the rest of the ceiling. I can now start my remodel. I thank you, and my wife especially thanks you because she wants her new kitchen. :o)

Comments:Thanks Drywall School, Your site has been a huge help; with me getting my moms house. The two different workers ripped her off and didn't get the job done, and I had no idea how to drywall, but your site help me over come that fear of not being able to do it, and your site help me do it as best as I could with what there was left, and it was a hole lot cheaper than hiring a 3 contractor that she cold not afford anymore due to the last two contractors taking all her retirement monies.
Thanks and I'm only a girl "But a girl that now knows, how to pick up the pieces of a were the guys left off"
If it wasn’t for your site I might have not been able to do it on my own!!
The drywall might look like crap, but we figured blame it on the tipped 1900 house.

P.S. My mom thanks you too... She saved money by using your site. It might have taken longer, but it's getting done and looking better so my mom can move back into her house a little sooner and be a lot healthier now.

Comments:I've been searching for a website that has information on textured ceiling and drywall techniques for quite some time. After searching for awhile, I came across your webpage. In reading your website, it has made it a lot easier for me to understand drywalling techniques and the different types of textured ceilings (I have textured ceilings in my home and I've always wondered how it was done).

Your site is VERY INFORMATIVE and easy to understand!

Thank you for creating your website and the information contained within. I enjoyed reading it and will be back for more information!!

Comments:I have just used a friend as a contractor to redo my 8' X 6' bathroom. He did an OK job, but complained the whole time, told me it would cost around $3500 and it cost $6200. Anyway, I told him I would paint it myself. Only thing is, he started the joint compound on the new sheetrock and I need to learn how to sand it, and then keep covering it until the walls are smooth. He kept trying to talk me into using someone he knows to do wallpapapering, and that way the walls would be less work. I don't want wallpaper. I want semi-gloss and maybe a painting treatment design. Thanks for having this site as I have much to learn. Jen

Comments:Thank you very much for your website. I am a novice DIY when it comes to crack filling and I am finding your website very helpful. Right off you have answered 2 of my questions: Why am I getting pock marks (I get a lot of pock marks on new dry wall) and why do I need to mix my mud? From your website I learned: I When I sand, I sometimes uncover new ones. I believe my problem is that my mud is too stiff as I have not been mixing it - just taking right out of the box or pail.

I have 'quit' cracking filling 3 times now, but I cannot help but try again. I learn a new thing and I have to try it. I do not expect to be a good crack filler, but I do like to understand why my mud is behaving the way it is and why am I getting the results I am getting. Your website is helping me to understand what is going on and why my old techniques are not good. Thank you very much. My current job right now is renovating my kitchen, No cupboards on the wall, no sink, etc. I started in Nov. can only do part time i.e. evenings. Right now, I am fixing up those ugly areas of my cracking filling job. Thanks again. Mike Laaper

I get very frustrated. Even though I accept that it is a learned skill
