SPEEDWAY Baptist Church ('51-'57) Memphis Tech High, Class of 1957 ... What a great site! Pic's of so many classmates I remember from all the above schools, bringing back memories I did not know I even had until about an hour ago before visiting your site. I still remember with great sorrow when "we all" lost John Oakes in '56, so early in his and our lives. I simply want to say "hello" and "God Bless" to all those of you whom I remember ... and who, in turn, perhaps will recall when our paths crossed. Had it not been for Tech HS's "great" tailback, Randolph "Randy" Hale in the mid-'50's, who lived across the street from me on Lexington Circle in North Memphis, I would never have played one minute of football when I attended Snowden and Central. Randy "literally" changed my life ... and your '57 site has brought him and all those I remember from your Class "instantly to memory". I am thankful for my youth in Memphis and remember with great pride sharing it with all my friends from Tech and Central. Sincerest best wishes and regards to all ... Bruce |

| Comments: | A great big thank you to all who worked to put on our 50th reunion. It was great. Thanks also to John Adair for making his photographs available to all of us. I saw friends I have not seen for years and years and I walked away feeling very good about our class. I saw a lot of people with solid accomplishments that made me feel good about my school and my education. I also love it that we include classes on both sides of '57. They are a big part of our history as well, and it is so good to see those who were just before us or just after us. Yea, class of '57! We lived to see the 50th! |

| Comments: | My husband, Sam, & I just returned from the 50th reunion in Memphis and I have only one regret........that I didn't make an effort to get info about earlier reunions...we were in the A.F. until 1981 & most likely couldn't have attended any up to that point but we retired in May of '81 & settled in LaGrange, GA which is only a 6-hr drive from Memphis. | Comments: | I was very touched by the memorial page for your classmates. It brought tears to my eyes, it was 10 years ago, yesterday that my father, Jack Hoback, passed away. He and my mother divorced when I was a toddler, however, my brother Jack and I spent alot of time with my Dad and his family. My mother was Kay Freeman, she attended Bartlett High and graduated from Houston High in Mississippi. Dad was married to Sandra Armstrong, and had two children before they divorced. In all He has 4 children, Kathy, who lives in Cordova, Chris, who lives in Idaho, Jack, lives in Fisherville and I live in Byhalia, MS. Dad also has 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons.
