Guest Entry:It is a great thing what you are doing im 13 and one day would love to have a job like yours. i got my first horse last year and he is 25. he is a very quiet horse though the owner had said she hadnt really had much time to take care of him and thought i would be great to take care of him as i spend alot of time with him. i bike ride everyday to him and ride him most days, though he is old he can still do what a 10 year old can do now i got his fitness up. if i wernt living in a different country i would adopt one of yours when im older:) i also agree with what you say if you take on a horse you shouldnt just give it up because he is old or injured.or slaughter them because though they maybe 25 or even 35 it could make a girl like me very happy. sorry i wrote alot :)

I wish we could send a donation but right now things are tight, as you can imagine. At this time we have 12 horses and have found homes for 10 horse at this time, we have been in operation for 2 years now. It is great because each one has their own personality, it is nice getting to know what each of them likes and dislikes, kinda like having 12 kids.

If you may have any suggestions PLEASE write me back, for I cannot afford this extra expense in my family's buget. Thank you, Alison

Guest Entry:Hello, I am the grounds keeper of a private estate in Montandon,PA just outside of Leiwsburg (Bucknell UN). The owners, Mr. Clifford Melbuerger and his wife Ruth are animal lovers and philanthropist connected to Bucknell University. They have put me on the task of gathering information on nonprofit horse rescue/adoption organizations. They have a beautifull 16 horse stall barn that has not been used for over 5 years. Their goal is to establish a productive nonprofit organization, much like yours for abandon and neglected horses. I personally know very little about horses though I have a few connections to those who do. In the process of information gathering I hope to learn more as I go. Most likely we will have to hire someone who is more capable of running a well coordinated foundation. If you have the time would you please consider contacting me with some basic information on how to start establishing an organization, such as yours, that I may pass on to the Melburgers. Thank you so very much for your time. Nina Nina H McCormick PO Box 343 Montandon, PA 17850 (717) 599 8968 I did sign up for your news letter.

The responsiblity for taking an animal is more than just the aw factor --isn't he cute lets take him home. and what do when they get old if they no longer want them ..I was looking for a widget to add to my site and to keep the information open for the public information they need to help with the situattion rather than just putting them down or sending them to the slaughter houses. thank you for your good work.

Guest Entry:Hi:I am a volunteer at the Four Corners Equine Rescue in Aztec New Mexico. There are 38 rescur horses at the facility with some in really poor shape but in the process of getting back their strength and weight. Recently 10 Peruvian Paso's were rescued and are now at the facility. While being a volunteer and loving horses, I am also a self proclaimed artist. To help the facility raise money for the cause, I draw each of the rescue horses with pencil , frame them and donate them to the facility for sale by them or bid on during their meet and greet sessions every 2 months. All rescue organizations are so helpful in careing for these abused and unwanted horses. Even tho I don't live near your facility , I thank you for what you do. May God Bless

Guest Entry:Hi Elle: It's been almost 7 years since my wife and I adopted Iron John and Lucky Leith, two beautiful thoroughbreds from you and brought them to our small farm in Annapolis. At the time they were approx 23 y.o. Anyone can do the math. That makes them almost 30. Those who see them cannot believe that they are not much, much younger. They are both still energetic and very happy. I was delighted to see that you are still working to find these magnificent animals a home. As for me, I'm still on Fox News Channel and still fighting terrorist's. I am scheduled to re-deploy to Afghanistan very soon for the better part of a year. Keep up the great work. Take care. It is deep red with a purplish cast (beef is not so deep and has scarlet red tones.) It is as dark a red as buffalo, darker than beef. Horsemeat tastes sweet, sickenly so when you realize what it is. I'm finding this kind of meat labelled as Beef in stores near me. You may have it near you too! Please protest to the grocery chain and the FDA! Etc. Our horses are not supposed to be slaughtered !!

It was fun to see all of your success stories. We adopted our first horse from a NV rescue last year, and couldn't be happier!! Like one person said, "One man's trash is another's treasure!" I think rescues like yours and the one that we adopted "Seven" from are the excellent voices for horses and educators for the public!! Thanks for all your hard work, really enjoyed your site!

Guest Entry:Hello, I am looking for a horse that needs a good home....we just lost our wonderful Dutch Warmblood...he was with us for 24 years.....my daughter is a dressage rider and a fabulous trainer.........she bonds with horses and is an excellant rider as well. We know there are many horses out there who need a good home and we would like to give one or two a home if possible..............in all honesty we need a good school horse for lessons (none of which are stressful).......we kept a little Arab mare for approximately 5 years....her owner dropped her "off" with us and we couldn't give her away.........she was about 40 when she left us.....she was much loved by all people who came to our stable..she never was ridden as she was just too fragile but what a sweetie! I guess what I am trying to say is.....we have no funds to buy a horse at the moment but if we could adopt a rideable horse (even if it took a while to make them healthy)........or two......it would help the horse and us at the same time. Most horses when they come to our stable....come off the trailer, look around for a few minutes and they are home. My daughter, Kelle and her two daughters are magic to horses...I watch it happen every day. If you can help us....we would be very happy to love more horses.........thank you. Virginia O'Rourke

Guest Entry:I'm confused.? First you say you are losing your lease then you take in more horses. You have been saying you are closed to all incoming horses then you take in more horses THEN you change your reading on your website to specifiy that you only are taking emergency rescues after you took in those Arabbers? I am troubled by the inconsistencies within which you seem to operate. Don't know if others even notice but you need to realize that there are a lot of people out there that continually visit your site and things don't add up. Just something you might want to ponder as you update your wording on what seems to be a weekly if not daily basis. Just a concerned horse lover. Liz Nelson

Guest Entry:Hello - I tried to get on your mail list and it bounced. Great work helping unwanted horses. There is such a cruel and ugly side to the horse industry. We humanely euthanize unwanted dogs and cats (albeit many could go to good homes if people would stop buying from puppy mills, neuter their pets, etc), so why aren't more people horrified at how horses in this country meet their fates? I am going to personally barrage my politicians, as well as the biggest breeders/owners in KY, NY & CA to do something more. Keep up the good work. I can't wait for the day when the kill pen is a thing of the past! (Sign me up!)
