Thus they do in fact "exist in nature!" Eclipses inspired both dragons and the mythical phoenix. It is quite likely that gryphons and gorgons were also inspired by eclipses. My Web-Sight 'Pedigree of the Phoenix' presents evidence that clearly reveals how the mythical "bird of the sun" that we know as the Phoenix was inspired by a remarkable bird-like pattern that is visible in the sun's corona during some total solar eclipses. This "sunbird" was incorporated into the religions or so-called "mythology" of many, if not most, ancient civilizations. This "king of birds" inspired the Hindu sunbird Garuda, the Arabian Roc (or Rukh) and Simurgh, the solar falcon-god Horus of ancient Egypt and the bennu bird (i.e. the Egyptian phoenix). Other ancient cultures, including the Mayans, Aztecs, Nazcas, and other "pre-Columbian" civilizations of America, were evidently inspired by this remarkable sunbird that is clearly manifested in the skies during some total solar eclipses. The persons (5 to 7 people) would enter an entrance of the circle, a different entrance for each person, no two people through the same entrance, once inside, a book would be placed on the center altar and opened to a page, the people would place themselves around the alter, being in line with the doorway they entered through, the chant or words of the book would be read by the first, when he was done, the second one would follow, etc, as each one finished the chant, he or she would repeat it until all would repeat it together at the same time. As this happened, the world outside the circle of stones would grow black and vortex would appear above the circle swirling. after the "link" was made, the doorways would egnight with white light or a scene from another place or time. Then the men or women would turn and choose a doorway to go through, thus allowing them to enter another place or world, but the portal only was able to last a certain amount of time, because with the ones who envoked the chant gone, the portal would begin to weaken as time passed, but the ones who entered another world or place on earth would return, the portal would then be closed by another chant. The destruction of the protal was because after the ones who used it, desided that the portal was too powerful for evil hands and so they left through the doors into another time or place, and when they did not return, the portal had no one to close it, so it emploded on it self (closed into itself) and what remains is what we see today. Other smaller circles would have been doorways from the main one, and thus with the main portal gone, so were the smaller ones. Well that is my theory of Stone Henge, please send me more informantion on this area, I have been studing it for years but have never been to the site to see if magic still remains that could reopen the portal once more????
