Degli Muses Saturday, July 30th 2005 - 12:16:00 PM http://www.myspace.com/deglimuses "She dreams of a storm. The flies are sticking to the sides of houses, three deep. The lights go out and it is dark. She feels queasy yet strangely alive. Suddenly, she is alone in a row boat, the water is deathly still. She holds her hand out to touch the water, when there, out of the corner of her eye, she sees the reflection of a large black crow. He is laughing." Maria Friday, May 13th 2005 - 04:46:38 PM synthchick@aol.com "The majority of us lead quiet, unheralded lives as we pass through this world. There will most likely be no ticker-tape parades for us, no monuments created in our honor. But that does not lessen our possible impact, for there are scores of people waiting for someone just like us to come along; people who will appreciate our compassion, our unique talents. Someone who will live a happier life merely because we took the time to share what we had to give. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have a potential to turn a life around. It's overwhelming to consider the continuous opportunities there are to make our love felt." Author:Leo Buscaglia

Malia Tuesday, February 15th 2005 - 02:24:18 PM maliafee@sbcglobal.net The day is grey, rainy, and it seems that everything is covered by a bluish film of light. What is that? Is it the clouds? Heavy with moisture they stand like pillars of dingy cottonballs, releasing their liquid, reflecting grey-blue light that comes from somewhere. Or maybe it's just that the sun is trying to get through those clouds, and the clouds act like the sky's own stained-glass windows; the water being held by those massive clouds affects the color of light that filters through, in the end. I have no idea. But I do know that a rainy day makes me sleepy, thoughtful, and it makes me want a warm flannel blanket and my cats, it makes me want to cook something good.. or maybe drink lots of steaming hot chocolate. I love the rain but I still long for the sun whenever she's not in sight. I'm not sad but I'll be happier, more cheerful, when I see her again.
