Comments:Both opportunities we had to go fishing with Tony on Slave Lake left my entire family giddy with satisfaction. Tony was patient and has a wealth of knowledge about the lake and fishing in it. There were about three solid hours when we couldn't even get our hooks to the bottom of the lake before a fish was on the line. The experience with Adventure Alberta has made such a deep impression on myself and my family we will be telling fish tales for years to come. Thank you so much!

Comments:First time I ever fished Slave Lake. A buddy and I went up and stayed in one of Toney's cabins for two nights. Had a great time, lots of laughs. Caughts lots of Burbot, a couple of Walleye and a Jack. All of the equipment that Toney supplied works great. The underwater camera is a hoot. This is the way to ice fish. Service supplied by Toney and his brother Brian was great. Feel like I made two more friends. Can't wait to do it again.

My son & I took a day trip in one of Tony's day huts & man does the wood stove keep you warm. My son caught the only fish which was an 8+ lb bourbot. Lost fish again. Oh well easy come easy go. Will be back again next yr. Thanks Tony for everything..

Comments:If you want to go fishing in one of Tony's fishing huts you better book ahead, I already booked for next year.
My friend and I went out the last week of Feb and the weather was cold and the wind was from the East (like they say wind from the east fish the least). It was to cold to fish outside so my friend and I stuck it out in the nice warm shack and fished 24 hours a day for 3 straight days. We caught a lot of pike and a and one was over 13lbs (we caught that one during a afternoon nap LOL) we also caught 6 Burbot
We seen a lot of whitefish on the under water camera but they wouldn't bite no matter what we did.
Tony was the best host we could ask for checking in on us and giving as fishing tips and bringing us stuff that we forgot to bring.
The shacks are great the pictures they have on this web site doesn't do them Justis. Tony has put a lot of time into making them user friendly. We had every thing we need at our finger tips or it was just a phone call away

Thanks for ever thing Tony and we will see you next year!

Comments:I have had the pleasure of going ice fishing twice in one of Tony's cabins. My brother(Jeff from St.Cath. On) came up to visit me on my 40th B-day last yr. He took me on an ice fishing trip to Tony's cabins. First time ice fishing in about 12 yrs. What a treat it was in those cabins. We caught a ton of fish but only 1 walleye. Lost a few as well. That is the way she goes. This yr. I took a friend from work(Dan H.) whom has never been ice fishing before. He catches the first fish. A 5+ lb Bourbot. I lose a Walleye but hook into a nice 12 lb Northern. We caught 2 more 5+ lb Bourbot's. The camera is great, saw a ton of Whitefish but could not intice to hit. Feb.29-Mar.1 was our days and lots of fish caught around us. I plan on going back before Winter season is over. Planning a family summer trip as well and probably again next Winter. A-1 fishing and top notch class by Tony...Thanks a Million Tony.

Comments:Well I made my 3rd trip using the services of the Sawridge Inn in Slave Lake & Adventure Alberta on the 26-28 of May this year(2006) and again I was no where near being disappointed. Pierre Frigon the Genious behing the marketing end of things with the Sawridge Inn and Tony Gelling of Adventure Alberta were spectacular in their services. Our 1st day of fishing as expected was somewhat slow due to of course the ever changing weather systems pushing thru the area. We kept pushing however and turned what could have been a dismal time in the rain into a fairly decent day with limit catches of walleye for 6 of us and too many to mention, thrown back once we got a handle on color and depth. Early season Walleye can be slow due to water temps and as they are just finished spawning can be tempermental from day to day. Day 2 was a blast with more stable weather and Tony keeping us on the fish all day long. It was a catch and release bonanza with dozens caught and released by everyone. Tony's pontoon boat was exceptional as we worked our drift all along the dropoffs and just smashed into one after another. We were elated with the quantity and quality of all the walleye we boated. We managed a trip to the bays surrounding Dog Island and there got into some 10lb plus Northern pike also. The meals and services provided by Pierre & the Sawridge Inn and the expertise shown by Tony in keeping us on the best holes all weekend were 2nd to none I've ever experienced. Will I go back? Hey nothing can keep me away from fishing what I consider the best walleye fishery in the province and the best in hands on service and guiding by Pierre Frigon at the Sawridge Inn and Tony Gelling of Adventure Alberta. Again Gentlemen well done.

Comments:We spent 2 days fishing, March 25 and 26 and took in Tony's operation for the second time. Although it was a blustery and cool weekend I think the only guy who was more wind burnt than I,was Tony himself.I spent 3 nights at the Sawridge Hotel in Slave Lake and I take my hat off to the superb job the Sawridge Hotel did catering to our every whim. A big thank you to Pierre Frigon the Sawridge Marketing Guru for the litle extras tossed our way as we took in the Package offered up for the Hotel and Fishing Package with Adventure Alberta. What a great partnership and a great way to get people out to enjoy the ambience that area of our great province has to offer. The super fishing and accomodations make it all worth while. While fishing was to the slow side, we all managed our limits of Walleye and the best part of all, Tony and his turkey cooker arriving on the ice Sunday afternoon. With a flurry of experienced knives we had 10 huge Burbot, our fresh water Cod Fish fillet'd boneless and the result was a feast of Deep Fried fish 2nd to none I've ever eaten anywhere. My thanks to Pierre and Tony, I'll be forever indebted,( Well for a week or 2 anyway) for the pleasure of joining you guys. And to the package offered up by the Sawridge in Slave Lake and Alberta Adventures, Well Done Gentlemen.

We very highly reccomend this trip to anyone who loves the outdoors, or wants to do some quading and fishing.

Norm and Tony are excellent guides and hosts.

The cabins were great, equiped with everything you can think of. Norm and Tony were very accomodating to our needs. Excellent friendly service offered. Nothing but good comments to say about the hosts and the facilities. We will definately have to look into a quad trip for the spring.

Comments:We just got home from a fantastic three nights with Norm and Tony. We were blown away by their willingness to make our trip the best on memory.
We were late getting to Slave Lake because of weather (driving from Calgary) but the boys met us with smiles despite the fact that they have families and jobs to go to the next morning. We forgot our Bar-B-Que...they brought us one. We had no music...they brought us a radio with CD player. We had trouble catching the Walleye but saw many Whitefish on the Aqua-Vu, so they brought some maggots for bait. Norm and Tony were fantastic guides and great fishing companions. They really know what customer service is. Friendships were made on our trip. We'll definitely be back.
I highly recommend visiting Norm and Tony.
Thanks again guys,
Will and Nolan.

The slave lake tour was extremely fun and quite challenging. My group was very sore after a very full day of riding. I can only say good things about Adventure Alberta. Looking forward to our next tour, which I'm in the process of booking. :)

Comments:Spent 2 days fishing with a good friend and outdoor writer, also his son March 21 to 23. Norm and Tony in conjunction with the Sawridge Hotel in Slave Lake treated us to an ice fishing trip most mortals can only dream of. Two nights at the Sawridge, meals included and because time was short, a day and a half of superb fishing. Limited out on Walleye, several huge Pike to 12lbs and Burbot (Freshwater Cod) to limit. The Sawridge went way beyond the call of duty and at 9:30 PM was preparing our catch of Burbot and Pike splendidly and in several different ways. We ended our 1st full day stuffed to the "Gills" with a superbly prepared meal and wondering what all the rich people were doing to enjoy their day. Our next trip will include staying in the well crafted and winterized cabins on the ice so as not to lose any precious fishing time. Hats off to the personable treatment Norm and Tony afforded us and we will be back to do this again. A heartfelt Thank You for your time and services.Anyone wishing the deluxe package can contact Norm or Tony or directly to the Sawridge in Slave Lake.

Comments:On March 5/6 a friend and I stayed in the first rate cabins built by Tony and Norm. The fishing was a little slow but the cabins were so good it made up for it. These guys really take care of you. They even gave us an aqua view and we watched the fish hit our bait. If your looking for a top notch experience I highly recomend this. The guys check on you periodically and make sure everything is going well. All creature comforts are attended to. You can eat right in the cabin and it was roomy and comfortable. I have already booked in for next year. Thanks again guys looking forward to seeing you again next year.

We will be undoubtedly returning for more of the fishing which considering the time of year was very good. We caught and released over 30 fish in the short time we were there!
