in 1975-77. One of my best friend that I met was stationed with this unit. His friendship left a very memorable life imprint with me. He was a door gunner in nam, when I met him he wwas a cw2 pilot. I will forever remember him in my heart. His death in Korea was a shocking blow to my soul. He saved my life in an operating room, 30 years later in a near death experiance. |

| Comments: | In the late 1950’s and thru the middle ‘60’s, Saigon, Viet-Nam was occupied territory. Yes, occupied by dependents of the military, business people, and embassy personnel. Some of their memories are recorded in various sites, but two are below:
www.saigonkids.com; and http://saigonkidsamericancommunityschool.com/ Having gone to school in Saigon in the early 1960’s, I found these two sites to be great, having linked up to some old school mates. While most military personnel who served in the war look back with jaded memories, but there are good memories for many of us. And oh, yes, I was in the 12th CAG. Regards - Ken |

Started in security and ended up in personel.I started out running the AB Dick copy machine with 10 copies here and 114 copies there and so on..so if there are official papers missing blame me.I did the casuality reports, leave requests, and picked up the newbies at Long Bien.Bunked with Bob Wallace from Calif. and spent a lot of time in Siagon with Dave Gibson from Mass.We had to do eveything in black ink and had no black ink pens so we went to Siagon and got some government black ink pens from the black market stalls..The pictures are great. If I ever get to it I will send a few of mine. |
