| Comments: | I met Pastor Dove at a church service she was visiting when she first came to Ok.At the time she had no idea I was facing prison time. I was sentenced subsequently to a Deuce inside 2yrs. not much by most inmates standards but I am not a typical case. I am a partially paralyzed, Hiv+ Hep.c+,epileptic, Suicide Survivor, I shot myself in the head over 20 yrs. ago. I am also an addict who for several yrs. had a 1000 dollar a day habit.(cocaine) (I.V.) not to mention the fact that I've always been gay. I always felt unworthy of the Lord Jesus Christ and his Love. I stayed in contact, via the mail with Loving Hearts while I was in-side the walls of prison I also with their tremendous encouragement got to know my Lord rather well I dove into my reading of the Word with relish for I sought answers to problems I'd been confronting my entire life. only this time I did it with the guidance of people who cared about the heart and soul of a man not his appearance or "religious"dogma and doctrine.But rather what the Lord Jesus Christ was capable of doing to and through this person as well as the ability to change him when he recognizes the fact that he is supposed to work for God as well as God working only for him. I've taken several in- depth bible study courses but none have ever taught me as much as that 2 year stint inside. The Lord through the state prison system of Oklahoma and Loving Hearts ministry called forth a person who at one time would have rather faced death than to face himself. Pastor Dove after my release and committment to working at L.H.M.eventually liscensed and ordained this formerly failed person and has helped and encouraged me to move forward through someof the most difficult times of my life.I will always forever treasure Her, her beautiful daughter Micah, and all of the wonderful friends who have blessed me with compassion and care in and through her remarkable ministryOf which there are too many to name but I hope they know who they are. | Comments: | My son is in prison and somehow he was lucky enough to get a copy of tye book Bear and the Dove. He ask me to get a copy so I could read it then send it to his wife. I think that is one of the best books I ever read. The Lonely Letter Home (Chapter 3) is the best explanation of what prison life can do to someone and to help loved ones try to understand. | Comments: | hello i first heard of loving hearts ministry when i was in prison in colorado at scf. my mother had put in the request for me it was a real blessing to read the book and hear of bear and doves life.now i am out of prison things are just not what i thought they would be i have lost contact with my 9 year old daughter chassity rae collins my sister was given custody of her while i went to prison since my release my sister has moved away and has told me and my mother that we will never see chassity again there is no protection order in place for me in regards my little girl just the fact of my sister keeping her from me.i am so depressed i dont feel i can go on any further without my baby.I went to prison over a stupid act a man stole some property from my home instead of calling the police i tried to regain the property by force wich was a very bad mistake on my part but i dont feel that this one mistake should keep me from my daughter i was going to hire a lawer till i broke my leg and was fired over it have not been able to find employment up to this point due to my prison record i have been walking with our lord now since 2006 but i really feel like i need some spiritual help.I am in need of finding a church that i can become part of if you have any contacts here in the northwest that would be a great blessing.please feel free to contact me anytime. always your brother in christ joseph. 8915 se tolman st portland 97266 503-774-7013 |
