| Comments: | My Sweet Johnith,
There is not yet a day that passes that something doesn't bring you to my mind (sometimes I wonder if there ever will be.) In the more than 5000 days we shared of our lives, there are millions of memories for me to relive and most of them for me to cherish. Forever 3-D pictures, complete with atmosphere and feelings that make them so real; that keep you so alive. How priviledged I feel to carry such a precious legacy, my friend, my love, my companion. I wish you could know how very greatful I am that you got that video camera for me to save some of the memories in a more tangible form and for the tapes that bring your voice, your music, your humor, and your laugh to my ears again. Thank you for all we shared (and continue to in my quiet moments of reflection) Tomorrow, (your birthday), the kids and I will talk about and remember all the ones we spent with you and sorrow over the ones we can't. We miss you so much. You are forever young, real and still crazy in our hearts! Happy Birthday, Buddy! I love you... |

| Comments: | Nothing has changed. JD is still an integral part of our
community, our family. Do we ever frantically backspace without laughing in memory? Everyone else backranks, we bockrank. Silly things. How we wish we had recorded that infectious laugh. It's not over. There is no end to life. We will meet again. But, God .. we miss him. |

| Comments: | John Couch was my little brother. He wasn't so little any more but I still wanted to protect him from anyone who I thought would hurt him. I worried about who he was with and what he was doing. I gave him a hard time a lot because I loved him so much. I was and am also very proud of his talent and most of all his heart.
All of your messages testify to his love for others. But if he were here he'd want you to know where that love came from. I was surprised one day to find John's Bible in his car glove box. He didn't talk about religion. He wasn't a "religious" person. But he knew Jesus in a very personal way. He knew he was loved by God so much that He sent His Son to die for him. It was this love of Christ that shown through in John. He would not condemn anyone for their failures or weakness. He would not put anyone in an untouchable category. He would only say through his actions that "you are loved and you are special". I know John would say to you "Please accept God's love for you. Christ's sacrifice was for you and if you will just acknowladge Him as Lord you will join Him and me in the arms of our Savior." I'm sure John would have a good joke to tell now to make you laugh. That was just his way and it will be missed. But please remember that the love and laughter he gave to us was God's gift to John. But now John is experiencing God's greatest gift. Eternal life with Him. I found John's Furby and when I picked it up it said "Me love you" and a big "Kiss..". Of course that made me cry. But then I tickled his belly and it said "PartY!!!" and the tears faded into laughter. That is what I'd like to say to John. I love you and enjoy the greatest party ever-Heaven! | Comments: | I'm not very smart and a lot of things I don't understand,
but JD was my friend and even when I was stupid he was nice to me. He would tell me always, always dont use the mouse, use the keyboard. He was my friend and I will always use the keyboard from now on. He was very smart and nice and he was my friend. |

| Comments: | Memories so golden
The hurt that I am feeling Is one that will last There is someone I love Who now lives in the past It just gets easier The hurt never goes The pain's still there And the tears still flow I wish my love could bring you back Back to the place where you belong We can't come to terms with the fact that you're gone My memories are golden They're as strong as can be They are so special They keep you close to me There is some comfort For you're here everyday To love and to Cherish In our own special Way ~~~~ The love will never be taken from my heart and the memories they cannot steal.. I cry for the loss of your mortal life, but I smile more for the joy and happiness you brought in the time you spent here. Forever locked in memories, you may be gone, but never will you be forgotten. |

| Comments: | What is truely the measure of a man's life?
It can not be counted in money, or material things, but rather in the friends he had and the joy he brought to those around him. JD distributted happiness everywhere he went, in his own way reminding us that something was only as serious as you allowed it to be. Through out the years he was a constant fixture in the Silent-Runinng user list. And while I traveled the world away from home he assisted my sister complete her education. JD make a mark on this world and it is not the words we use to fill these pages, but the memories we carry in our hearts that truly honor his memory. I for one carry many memories. ------------------------------------------------------------ Rough winds, that moanest loud Grief too sad for song; Wild wind when sullen cloud Knells all night long; Sad storm, whose tears are in vain, Bare woods, whose branches strain, Deep caves and dreary main-- Wail for the world's wrong Percy Bysshe Shelley ----------------------------------------------------------- |

The innumerable caravan, which moves/ To that mysterious realm, where each shall take/ His chamber in the silent halls of death,/ Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,/ Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed/ By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave/ Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch/ About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.(Thanatopsis, William Cullen Bryant) --- Sweet dreams, JD |

| Comments: | John’s position at work put him in an adversarial position
with some of his fellow employees, just as mine often does at Jaguar. For that reason a lot of his fellow employees never got to see the giving, loving and very humorous side of him that I did. Whether in person or on line he was always the master punster. In both dimensions we would spend time torturing the women in close proximity with PUNishing humor. When we started getting slapped in the arm, we knew we were at our peak for the day. John was always there offering help to anyone that asked and to many that didn’t. I will miss him. --- { Patience and timing.. everything comes when it must come. A life cannot be rushed, cannot be worked on a schedule as so many people want it to be. We must accept what comes to us at a given time, and not ask for more. But life is endless, so we never really die; we were never really born. There is no end. Humans have many dimensions. But time is not as we see time, but rather in lessons that are learned.)---- (Messages from the Masters) |

| Comments: | When we had our car accident last year, JD came to pick us
up from the emergency room in his little blue Saturn sedan. He had Summer with him; under the best of circumstances, four adults in that car would be a tight squeeze :) Of course, we were both on crutches, with limbs that didn't quite bend .. it was like a Three Stooges routine in the parking lot as we tried to get all of us, and the crutches into that car! Two or three of us would get in, we'd assess the situation .. everyone back out .. rearrange .. back in .. back out ... hehe .. that was so funny! He was really the best friend you could ever hope to have after an accident. He picked up our prescriptions, went to the grocery store for us, made sure that I had lunch at work when I went back but Wil was still out. Just a couple of weeks ago, I had one of those annoying little throat tickling coughs you get with a summer cold, and he came to my desk with cough drops. I wish we'd been able to return the favor and pick him up at the hospital then laugh all the way home. That would have been way cool. |

laugh, a silly mud joke. I never had a chance to tell you what your friendship and encouragement meant to me, or how much you inspired me. I only wish I could tell you. Somehow, I think you know. Sleep tight, sweet prince.. you will not be forgotten. |

| Comments: | To the family of John,
My family's prayers will be with you during this time of deep sorrow. I pray that God comforts you through this trial and that he guide you to peace. I strongly believe that we will all meet again. John was a great entertainer, I used to go watch him perform with Marlow at the Ponderosa. He enoyed everything he set his eyes on, including the motorcycle he had recently purchased. He will be missed. |

| Comments: | I have been blessed to have crossed paths with John in this
life, His special way of breaking the ice, his Little Rascal comedy, his one liners with a drum rim shot sound effect behind the punch line, was one of our staples of joke telling we would send back and forth, our Chinese proverbs, our high sign we greeted each other with, the alarm noise we would make when we saw each other. The list goes on and on. All the little things that made him special to me. These things are parts of me he takes with him.. I will dearly miss you John Couch. My Brother...Until we meet again keep your hands off Marilyn.. |

morning: At 09:27 AM 6/30/00, you wrote: JDC, a member of kewl.net was killed Monday evening (6/26/00) as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident. A memorial page for John has been setup at http://www.silent- running.com/jdc ... A guest book has been setup to collect messages from those who knew him which will be put into a scrap book for his family. It saddens me when I switch an account to the HONORARY class which I did for John this morning. May his soul rest in peace.... -Kewl BBS Please pass this along to the family...Thanks. -Squelch |

will be missed by myself and a great many others. I remember you helped me several times, in mud, and I appreciated that. Although I am greatly saddened and shocked right now, I know you are in a far greater place than here. | Comments: | The waves will still reach the shore. The heavens will
still stubbornly and slowly expand. Morning will come, and I will still sleepily combat the encroaching daylight. But there will never be another you. Check your inventory, my friend. I suspect you will find a new key, and a new lock that it fits. We would walk through the Gates of Hell with you, but now that you are standing at the Gates of Heaven, we cannot follow. Only for a short while, JD.. that is all. Gear us up for the higher levels; we'll be along soon. Until then, my friend .. to life! You are forever loved. |
