| Comments: | I have loved every minute of this blog! Even though my truth-is-stranger-than-fiction existence has forced me to read it in months-at-a-time segments (because I'm either too tired or too lazy to get here on a regular basis), I have enjoyed each and every visit. Aside from the fact that it's the only way to keep up with you, what with the insane time difference and all, it's always good for a great big laugh and a "what the heck were these crazy people thinking?" My personal favorites: Pukey the Pumpkin. Being quoted (see first Polish Pottery Orgy.) Annabelle's story. Mike's unicycle talents. Taylor Family pics (with Fred.) Ninja Santas. And now, last but certainly not least, your new "redneck first-class" kitchen chairs. The only thing missing from that picture of you and Jenny imbibing is ME and a pitcher of raspberry dacquiris. Yes, I've loved the blog like everyone else, but I'll be glad to have you home! love, j |

| Comments: | Hi Bon,
A long time ago I promised you that I would sign your guest book. Since you’re nearing the end of your Germany (plus most of the rest of Europe) tour, I thought I’d best keep my promise. I’ve followed your blog from day one, and I don’t think I’ve missed any of your posts. It’s been fascinating. I’m glad you are almost home again and look forward to seeing you and Fred and the kids soon. Love, Uncle Johnny |

| Comments: | Thanks for the pic's of Speyer. In 1971 when I was stationsed with the 8thID in Bad Kreuznach we went to a rock concert there. As we were leaving the next day, I saw a woman bending over and pulling long white stalks out of the ground. I walked down between the mounds and and asked if I could help. Being from East TN I had never seen white asparagus. She was delighted to take a break and have a GI help her. That evening I had some in a local resturant and fell in love with it. Thank heaven I married a wonderful woman from Willich (near Krefeld & Düsseldorf) in the spring the area over flows with white asparagus farms. We always try to make it back to visit family and friends before June so I can get my fill of the stuff. |

| Comments: | Hmmm...cat chess. That's a new one. Nah, I think Willis should be a pal to Eddie. "(What you talkin' bout Willis??) Just imagine the mileage. And since you have one cat with his own saying, why not add another one as well?
Cats do better in pairs, its true. Then their aloofness is praticed on one another. They will ignore each other and compete for your affection. Therefore, they won't ignore you. Freee Willis! |

| Comments: | Why is it that everyone but me gets to decide where I go? Yes, it'd be fun to go live with Eddie and his pets, but I'd miss my own pets. Mimmy and Papa are gettin' older, and they need a faithful watchcat around. Plus, it's my goal in life to try to sneak under the closed door of my porch and get to know Celia and Lucy better. Wink, wink! |

Tell Mom to let go of the cat's tail and send Willis back to Krautland with you. She can stop moving the cats around like chess pieces. That description of the cats in their assigned places just cracked me up. :) Mom can visit Willis plenty. Unless, of course, she likes being involved in the high drama of cats. ::waving:: Hi, Mom! :) |

| Comments: | Hey, I happened across your diary a month or two ago when I was searching for Space A info. Anyway, just wanted to leave a note that I have been through here a couple times. On a side note I have the Cannon Powershot G3 digital camera and LOVE it. The PX has the G5, and occasionally it goes on sale. The only difference between the two is that the G5 is 5 megapixels vs the 4 megapixels in the G3. Anyway, it's a great camera... I, much like you, have not put one roll of 35 mm in my other camera since getting my new 'toy.' My camera came as a package deal... but I think you can get the G3 for around 450.00 and the G5 is under 699.00. (I swear the PX was selling it on sale for around 500.00 dollars.) Who knows.
You are welcome to stop by my blog anytime. http://www.travelingon.net/babyhopes/ Right now it's down 'for construction,' but hopefully will be up soon. |

| Comments: | Bonnie: love your daily Blog. If you and your family make it to Central FL, I would be happy to show you around. I work at the front desk of the "Space Coast Inn", transit lodging for Patrick AFB, FL. I spent 7 yrs (1983-90) at AFN Berlin (before & after the fall of the wall). My wife is british and is a counselor at a Melbourne, FL elementary school. My oldest daughter is a kindergarten teacher at the same school and my younger daughter is a mental health specialist in the Army at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. | Comments: | I arrived at your guestbook by way of the message boards. Reading about your weekend visits and such were very entertaining. I have never heard anyone put such a positive spin on things that most would find dreary. My husband and I are hoping to go to Germany this summer. We will know in 2 weeks. I am so looking forward to going. We may stand out, as an Airforce family stationed at an Army post. My husband is a weather forecaster and apparently the Army doesn't have them. Well thank you for the entertaining stories of your European adventure. I will keep checking in time to time for updated picture galleries.

| Comments: | Hi, Bonnie,
Germany sounds like fun! I've been wondering how you were doing, and kind of worrying, too--the news makes the entire world sound like a scary dangerous place these days. It was great to read of Pippi and learn that that's not quite how it is. A stolen bike helmet just doesn't match my worst imaginings ;-) Keep on having fun! |

| Comments: | Great stuff, Bonnie! I hope you're saving copies of all these entries off-line somewhere. (You know what server managers can do to "archives" when you least expect it!) I especially appreciated the link to Twain's "awful German language" essay--and your literal rendition of Deutsch auf Englisch.
Also, I'm pretty sure I know who sang "Albania" but wouldn't want to take a shot at it without a little "Coach"ing! Keep up the good work. Love, Daddy PS - Tell Eddie that Willis says "Where the heck are you, boy?" |
