Having moved to Rhode Island just last week, I was anxious to find out about local quilting guilds I could connect with. I was told you will be the guest speaker for the Ninigret Quilters in Westerly, RI in April. I am looking forward to meeting other quilters, and especially can't wait for the opportunity to attend your workshop. I have been quilting off-and-on (mostly off!) for the past 5 years, which represents the amount of time it took to complete 5 quilts (2 king sized!) My passion in "all things quilts" is leading me to seriously consider how I might start turning what has been a fascinating hobby into a full-time career. Although no longer a quilting virgin, I do consider myself a "newbie" and desire to learn as much as I can. | Comments: | Love your blog! I'm joining in on your Orca Bay Mystery thanks to my quilting buddies over at QATW. I'm using pinks, purples, blacks with white/creams/beiges. I have to admit, most of those smaller pieces usually go into doggie/kittie beds for our local shelters, but I try to use some of the larger pieces and then the scraps go into the pillow case. No worries, the pillowcases still fill up quickly. BTW, in addition to using old phone books, I use those tissue sheets that come with the fusible interfacings and such. Thanks for the wonderful adventures into small piece scrappy land! |

I feel like we are friends! In the fall I went on a quilt retreat and met a lady who loved to save scraps and had all your books. She made a quilt from our scraps from last year's retreat. As I looked thru your books, I realized--OMG! This is so right-on! A yd of fabric is now $10+ and I now save those scraps and put triangles together and save shapes (2x2, etc) Haven't made anything yet, still saving, but sure do like the concept!
