| Comments: | So nice to read your story about Bailey. My wife and I took 2 saints in when a friend of ours saint had 13 pups and no milk. We bottled them from 3 days old. We lost our beloved Thaddieus on his 10 month birthday. He spent a week at the vets and as I was getting ready to leave and go see him they called and said he had passed. As most see me as a strong country (sometimes called redneck) guy that dont let much bother him, I cried like a baby. But we still have our baby girl Callista, she is now 15 months old, 29 inches tall at the sholders and weighs 145 pounds. She thinks she is a lap dog, cant count how many times she has climbed up in my lazyboy and we ended up tipped over backwards. Saints are a great dog and just becomes part of the family. Thanks for saving Bailey. |

| Comments: | Hello! I happened onto your website while searching the web for a saint bernard through a saint rescue site. Having read your story, particularly in regard to your beloved Sampson, I feel somewhat of a "kinship" with you. Like you, my husband Roger and I lost our beloved saint, Jesse, to Gastric Torsion/Bloat, something we had never heard of and had no information about. Jesse left us two weeks ago on October 4th, and our lives haven't been the same since that time. He was only 3 years old and the love of our lives, especially since we do not have children. Remarkably, his markings were almost identical to your Sampson's! We also have 3 cats, one of whom is named Casey, like your kitty as well. When we lost Jesse I didn't now if I could bear to get another saint, of course being of the impression that he was our "one in a million" and could never be replaced. I've now come to realize how many other precious dogs are in desperate need of loving homes and people like you and us who can provide for them and give them the lives they so desperately deserve. Their unconditional love is unrelenting, and we will forever be dog/cat lovers, but there is a VERY special place in our hearts for those dear St. Bernards! I am in hopes of finding one to refill our lives with happiness, just as you so aptly described how your once-sad house is now happy again and filled with all good things. Isn't it truly amazing how these animals affect our lives, for the better of course?! Anyway, I just wanted to write a note and tell you what beautiful tributes you've created for your dog and cat. May your lives continue to be full of the happiness you deserve as responsible, loving parents to your new Bailey. God Bless Debby Granger |
