Hey, Louie finally gave me back "the geese and the schmeck," you know, that Anthony Phillips album. Wow, that stuff brings back some memories. But nothing like 1973-4, when you started listening to Dark Side of the Moon and telling me that I would end up liking it. We were 14 years old!!! I was still listening to Johnny Cash! And then in 76-78 with "The Lamb." "You'll be making jokes about it," you said. How true. You have been my conduit to many forms music, each one slightly ahead of it's time. Case in point: 78-80 and Mr. Robert Fripp. In-freakin-credable. You certainly have been my musical guru for the last 30 years. It seems like yesterday that you were hammering away at that piano in the living room, at Hale place. Before you knew it you were playing Jan Hammer on your Micro Moog. The Fender 88 was gem, if you didn't break something when moving it. But that Moog........oh pitch trev! The original A. Animal band. What can you say? And I was the official trucking crew. The A. Animal van. OK, enough rambling. I Just wanted to qualify the musical history of yours that I have been a part of for a long time. Hey! I still have Overhaul on original cassette. I may auction it on Ebay! Thanks for 30 years of musical inspiration and direction. From "Arnold Layne" to "Dave T's Lament," it's been a hell of a ride. Keep rocking. Godspeed. -The T. |

I was at the 3/31 Machine show (my 1st one!); not that I'd expect you to remember, but I was one of the 3 chillin mo'fos lucky enough to snag the couch to your right of the stage for the whole show. It was a sick night! One thing I didn't expect was the very un-Floyd like beats at the outset of the show - I was loving them for awhile, not even realizing they were you (right?) busting out some other skills! Now I am on a heat-seeking missle quest to find the beats (cd, tape, internet - whatever) and get my stinkin claws on em. can you help??? It goes without saying, that I was knocked off my feet and swept into the air for hours by the tunes that you and the rest of the band graced me with all night. Thank you very much for an amazing evening. |
