Comments:Just stopped by to say hello. My great great great great grandfather was Willis Conner and your story about the Conners and the Texas Rangers was found online by one of my uncles. The link has been passed along through the family and we've all been reading it. Strangely enough, I'm married to an Englishman and left Texas for England in 1993. We're now settled in London and it's been very interesting to read an account of my somewhat infamous family history on an English website. Best of luck with your research and re-enactments.

If you contact me in advance, we'll get you fitted with the appropriate accoutrements (shootin' irons and you can shoot as a guest. By the way I am an active duty captain with the Matagorda County Sheriff's Department, Bay City, Texas.

Comments:Howdy, I really enjoyed your site. I've always had an intrest in the old west since I was a kid, I really got intrested in the rangers after reading about Capt.Walker, and Sgt J R Armstrong, Then I saw "Lonesome Dove" and that did it for me I've been a big Rangers fan ever since. I am an ex soldier, and retired(injury)Mounted Police officer, I
have 2 horses of my own and ride almost every day, I only wish there was a ranger company here in wild Northumberland, (the place is overrun with marauding indians and audacious bandits!). As I can ride and shoot my wife keeps telling me I was born a hundred years too late, she's right!.
Great site, I'll keep visitin'

Adios, Norm.

Comments:Any chance of a re-enactment for GCSE History students who study the American West? We can't afford to arrange a trip to America so the chance for British schoolkids to see a 'real' Western gunfight would be much appreciated.

Please check out my website - it's raw in the tooth at the moment, and contact me if interested. I have contacted some other societies and Laredo.

Cheers, Dafydd

Comments:I work with the great great grand daughter of Leander McNelly (shornuff!). Her name is Sharon Simmons. She brought us in an original photo of him with the lineage to her from McNelly's son written on back.
A group of us got interested in all this by seeing the most recent movie TX Rangers, then she lent me the book about Taming the Neuces Strip... I enjoyed it alot and now I am an official fan of Texas Rangers!
We will be going to the TX Ranger Museum next month from here at the Island on Lake Travis retirement community as one of our outings. (I'm the nurse here).

Comments: At first I thought Texas Rangers in the U.K. why ? Then as I remembered, we have a renaissance festival going on right now as I speak called Scarborough Faire, which is a re-enactment of periods from medieval times in Europe before there was Texas. Probably the first Texas Rangers were made up of people from the European continent. So thanks from a citizen of Fort Worth, Texas, for your interest in our history. Your website looks good.

Yours Truly,
W.L. "Rip" Batchelor
