| Comments: | father joseph, grandfather Frank, know family came from County Kerry, several relatives buried in Mount Olive cemetery in Washington DC, one of the tombstones says "here lies a Union soldier who lost an arm at Chancellorsville". Not sure of the first name as there appear to be several Bresnahan's buried at the one site. On a trip to Ireland found that there are many spellings of Bresnahan. Most of the people there think they're all related regardless of the spelling. |

I do know Dads Father name was William(also my middle name) Edward Bresnahan.Was born 11/29/1877, died 6/5/1935.William married Cecelia 9-2-1905. She was born about 1888 and passed 1980.(Cecelia maiden name was Flanagan) William's Father was Thomas and born in Ireland about 1840 Died 1907. (Not real good info).Thomas's Mother was Alice. No other info for her.Thomas's wife was Margret also from Ireland. Born about 1843,passed 7-26-1893 I don't have any more info on her. Newspaper back then just called her as Mrs Bresnahan. Thomas and Margret, moved to Lafayette In. from NY about 1865. I also know that we are related to Philips, Mahonney and I think my Grand Mother Cecelia's Mother was Nora Danford. I also know that Thomas and Margret's Son Thomas F passed away 1885, 19 years old and born in NY. I think they had 6 Boy's and 2 Girls. I think I am close to accurate as I can at this time. A very good friend went to Ireland. They went to Dublin and found some info and the oldest Family Crest from the 1300's and a whole lot of different ways of spelling our name.
