I highly recommend Nice and it's surrounding villages. It is hot here by Ireland standards. I think we brought the sun.We are staying with a really good friend I met 20 years ago in Seattle. He had moved there from Dublin after Law school. Now he is back trying to figure out life. I hope he marries someone soon. He owns a Subway franchise. Very successful in Cork. | Comments: | Last night the chilled mist seemed to wash the summer out of Seattle. I wore a sweater as I walked out to the beach. The salt air seemed
a little hollow—it held a certain vacancy that felt almost like winter. Stillness was everywhere. Even the Sound was calm. It was as if I could scream and everyone everywhere would hear me—that kind of still. Sitting on the bench I kept losing myself between thought and the ink of the night ocean. It seems as though every time I walk out to the beach I imagine you sitting gleefully in your chair enjoying the moment; talking to strangers—just being you. As I traverse weekly cycle that is my life, I feel not jealousy. I just hope to be able to take a little bit that spirit that you brought with me as I go. |
