| Comments: | I have a little boy wolfhound i got from Ireland. He is the most wonderful little guy in the world. However about a month ago he stoped growing! His leggs have completely stopped. I have had several specialist look at him and who have ran several test only to find everything is ok. And that they say they have never seen anything like this before. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? |

| Comments: | Great site lots of info. I am looking for an irish wolfhound as a companion for my other dog. A cross one would do just as well. I am looking for one that will be a pet, and is good with children. It doesnt matter what colour, looks arent important(never found an ugly wolfie yet) health problems as long as they are not major, it can even have just three legs. I really would love to own one of these loving dogs once again. |

When I buy my house wich will be very soon in Virginia. I am going to see about including one in my family. I all ready have a German-Short haired pointer (Sabrina) and an orange tabby (Dijon). Both of wich I found abandoned. I would like to know if you know of any rescue clicnics or respectable breeders in the Virginia area that you could recomend. Thank you for your time.

| Comments: | Your web site was awesome. I have loved irish wolfhounds since i was a little girl, and every chance i get, i look them up on the internet, and find them in dog books. Your pictures are great, and the little stories next to them, entertained my whole family. Your site just increased my want to have one of my own. If I could only find a breeder near by. Would you happen to know of any, here in British Columbia,Canada, please let me know. Thankyou , and thankyou for a great night of reading. Take care

| Comments: | Having read Harry's page I have realised just how well Bedlam (6month irish wolfhound) has trained us, especially when it comes to getting best steak/fish! She also finds us great for beard rubbing, foot printing and food stealing and even has a selection of her own duvets. Bedlam lives with house rabbits,a springer and 2 chinchillas one of whom is her best friend in a most unlikely pairing of little and large!
Harry's gorgeous and your site is great-well done!! I hope it inspires more people to keep these fantastic hounds. |

I do lots of things Harry does, but I've practised 'the angel' look and it works a treat! Mum says to say 'It's a very entertaining site - well done!' I say 'Keep it up Harry - Wolfhound pups rule!' |

| Comments: | Hello, I've never loved a dog more than I do Henry. He is 1/4 lab, 1/4 wolfhound and 1/2 australian shepard. His coat looks like a blue aussie and one eye is blue and white like a aussie, but his size and manner is awesome. He loves to be loved. He weighs about 90 lbs. The wolf hound is a wonderful breed. Thank you for sharing your web site, it was wonderful!!

| Comments: | My husband was only interested in having a small dog until I talked him into going over to meet the dogs at the agility show at the Scottish Highland Games. There were plenty of small terriers and spaniels... and there in the distant was a small pony shaped like a dog walking a human around. I made him come over to meet the Irish Wolfhound and his owner. He just snuggled up against me and then against Dave and that was all it took. He's been scouring the web since looking at all the information he can find on this breed. He'd like to purchase a puppy in the spring. We're excited about learning more of these precious hounds and hope to find a good match for our family this next year. Your website is great! thank you for sharing!

| Comments: | Hi - what a terrific website and how true your comments are. After years of living in the Highlands and owning Scottish Deerhounds from the world famous Ardkinglas kennels (sadly Miss Noble died recently), we had to move to England. With the last of the deerhounds gone to doggie heaven we decided to diversify into wolfhounds - Irish and Russian. What a wonderful and ever amazing life we now have especially with our BIG baby Sauron. We are planning to go to a few shows in the near future and may do the rounds in Scotland as all our family are still up there - you never know our paths might cross. We'll be the ones who are wet and soggy not from the rain but from the continuous licks and kisses that Sauron seems to never tire of giving us. Our dream is to breed a cream pup from Sauron and be able to maintain the line for the future.
Will visit the website frequently as it is a great delight. Many thanks! Duncan & Kym |

| Comments: | Presently we have Annie, a six year old rescue. Before that, in most recent order, were Finbar another recue, a majestic black male, who tragically died of heart failure/bloat and who was Annie's mentor;Gemma, an ex-canadian champ and Aidan who were both given back to their breeders when we left the USA; first was Chloe(USA)who died of cancer.
All,of course were beautiful and each one its own character. All our US hounds came from the same two New Jersey breeders, who became very good friends. We took their older dogs who were past their breeding times or who were not up to scratch for breeding. Are there any breeders who have older dogs for sale? We have never had a puppy? Annie will not go on for ever - hopefully for longer yet tho, and no doubt we will feel the need again!! |

He/She really captured the essence of our beloved hounds and even though tongue-in-cheek, I'm sure we all can see how silly we are about our IW companions. There is more than a grain of truth in here and I think the IWs understand more than we give them credit for. (BIG GRIN) Thanks again for a laugh. |

| Comments: | I was looking up information on Irish Wolfhounds and found your web site. I love the pictures and the poem about Paddy brought me to tears. I do not have a dog now but we lost a beloved Golden Retriever several years ago and cannot wait to have another dog someday when we can spend more time at home with him/her. Right now I will settle to volunteer with homeless dogs at the local animal shelter. Congratulations on a brilliant web site. I have bookmarked it and will visit often to see more pictures of your beautiful dogs. Cheers to you from America! |

| Comments: | Your poems to Paddy made me cry. We got our first wolfhound when I was a child, his name was Gabe. He passed away after 10 years, under his favorite tree. Our next was Iris, she made it to 11 years, and we were heartbroken both times. We now have Seanna, she is a year and a half, and we enjoy every day with her. This site was great, I loved looking at your pictures! |

| Comments: | I have had wolfhounds since 1986. 1st big boy was called OZ we got Oz from Mr & Mrs Forsey of Guildford. Oz died in 1996 & we were then adopted by Gemmy & her son Tino in March 1997. Unfortunately Gemmy died in January 2002 aged 10 years & 9 months. Tino is now 5 & though like us he misses Gemmy he is very happy. He has a new pal in my daughter's Bassett hound Tilly who he sees on a regular basis. We hope that Tino will be with us for lots of years yet. Having fallen completey in love with these big soft loveable dogs we could never have any other dog in our house. 10 years with an Irish Wolfhound is worth 30 with any other dog. |

| Comments: | Dear Fran,I read your poems to Paddy.I couldn`t stop crying AGAIN!We lost our FINNIAN in december 2001.It is so hard,he was so wonderful in everyway.I have a little boy who is three and a half and Finnian was his best friend.Even though it is seven months now he still talks about him EVERY day.He says he misses him and he wants him to come home.He is an ONLY child which makes it worse. I would love another wolfhound, but I can`t bare the thought of only another 6 years or so and then going through it all again.Finnian had bone cancer in the end , although he had a heart condition all his life. we thought we would lose him through that, so the bone cancer was a terrible shock. I`ve enjoyed looking through your pictures . my husband and I were laughing at the size of Paddy, our boy was big too but only 41" at the shoulder, and more finely built than Paddy. I`m sorry for being depressing but I feel a bit better having got it off my chest, so thank you for your lovely site and I will keep checking for any up dates on the pictures ( if I havn`t got one anymore I can at least look!) Thank you again. Mary |

My family has had 3 wolfhounds so far, unfortunately none have lived past 6. our last wolfhound Lynch died in april and its so empty without him we're on the lookout for a pup. Our remaining hound seems to miss her kennel mate and we have decided to get another hound straight away. Next week we will have our "new addition" up from California: a beautiful three-month old wheaten, likely to be called Maisie. We do miss our big gray Frances though, and feel her spirit daily. |

| Comments: | We lost our much loved Rottweiler - Taymar - earlier this year. The house is empty without him. As we realise no other Rottweiler could live up to Tay, we have been talking about other breeds. Phil has always wanted an Irish Wolfhound and we have been researching the UK and American Web sites for information. We both fell in love with the pictures on your web site and with the characteristics of the breed and feel that an Iris Wolfhound would be an important part of our family. We plan to look for a puppy during this year. |

| Comments: | Your wolfhounds are some of the handsomest I've seen! Looking at the pictures of your dogs on a walk in the country looks like heaven to me. It's been a lifelong dream to visit Scotland; my grandfather moved to the US from the Paisley area almost 100 years ago. I've always wondered if I still have family there, but records are spotty and no-one seems to know.
My own "wolfie" is only a half-wolfie; the other parts are anyone's guess, with the top two guesses being Golden Retriever and/or German Shepherd. He's the size of a tall shepherd and has a shepherdy tail, but otherwise looks remarkably wolfie-esque. What an absolute doll he is. I rescued him at 2 1/2 years old; he'd been kept tied up under some people's deck for the first year of his life and had to learn to run and play. For years an unhappy tone of voice would send him running; I almost see it as an achievement when he ignores his mum's yelling now! (Almost, but not quite... :) Thanks for sharing your beautiful dogs with us. I only wish all the pictures would load; many come up as missing. Regards and love to Scotland! Your dogs are beautiful! And 'wolfhound heaven' looks nice too. How many adult dogs do you now have, and how often do you breed? I have kept Wolfhounds for 11 years [since I retired]. I show them, but do not breed. I currently have three IWs [all from different breeding], and one retired racing greyhound. We live in 'cottage country' on a lake, with several acres of fenced yard. There is a dog door, which allows the wolfies to come and go at will, and everybody sleeps in the bedroom. All the best! David |

| Comments: | I have four children, the eldest is now eighteen and the others are aged 16, 15 & 10. When the eldest was two weeks old we got an Irish Wolfhound called Siska. She lived with us for nine years and saw the birth and early childhood of all my children. She was a wonderful companion and is still missed. In 1990, and now with four children, we got a companion for Siska, a Black Labrador called Sam. Siska died in the early nineties and Sam was with us until earlier this week, when she died peacefully in her bed. She has left a family, her canine companion (Jack) & her feline companion (Tom) all very sad at her passing. Our thoughts are now turning to the future and perhaps the return of an Irish Wolfhound to our household. We have spent the last hour browsing your web site and reliving the good times spent with both Siska & Sam and would like to Thank You for providing such a well presented site. We may well be in touch. Regards Anne C. Haigh |

We had 2 and lost one a year ago. | Comments: | I have always loved big dogs and dream of the day I can have an Irish. My best friend is on her second (a rescue) and he is wonderful.I have the land and the time, all I need is the money! We already have 2 Gordon Setters and a Golden Retreiver, the oldest is 10 now so hubby says I can start saving and when the time comes and we only have 2 then I should have enough. Its just a shame they are so expensive,I would consider an older dog but where do you find them?
Love your site,it is so nice to see a breeder who cares and actually points out the pitfalls. The tail of a Gordon can have exactly the same problems, our oldest had to have the end amputated after several attempts by the vet to sort it and yes the blood does end up eveywhere...lol. Best wishes Liz |

I love BIG dogs the most! I was at a dog show once, a lady with 2 wolfhounds and she needed help so she could show them in the ring, so me and my mom decided to help her! I never knew how sweet and adorable they were. They are also big babies. When their owner left him, he started wimpering. Like they say they are big, gentle giants! And I fell in love with them! Thank-you for taking the time to read this and if you could, if you get anymore pictures, could you maybe email me them! I would love that! You and your wolfhounds have a Merry Christmas! |

We have moved to a lovely area and my wife works at home luckily we are in the country side and long walks with our boys are a family event 2 kids. Earlier this year i met a wolfie called peggie and I have always thought them beatiful gentle creatures my wife and I have for several months been considering an addition to the family. Both Dobies have been done and are very placid ( daft as a brush actually ). Do you think a wolfie and the dobies would mix wellboth of the are very social and like your are treated as one of the famly within given rules.

I am a prospective Irish Wolfhound owner living in a rural setting with direct access to several acres of forest and open countryside (so plenty of room for exercise). As a recently retired (I/T Consultant), although still involved in I/T activities via the Net, I do have the time necessary to devote to the love and care of such a dog. Your excellent information has not discouraged me from ownership so I would appreciate your advice on, or reference to, a suitable UK or Ireland based breeder. -Best regards Geoff Howe |
