| Comments: | I am writing this in 2008 fron the uk .This week in July i bought the film BLADE RUNNER BOX SET (THE FINAL CUT ).5 DISC COLLECTERS EDITION . The reason i bought it was because i gave the DIRECTORS CUT to my brother as every time he came over he would put it on and in the end i said take it as i prefered the the US STUDIO CUT. Returning home with my collecters set i watched all 5 dvd`s over the weekend ,then decided to look up BLADE RUNNER on the internet. Looking at the list of actors the one i most wanted to view was Brion as he was without question the most realistic and memorable actor in the film,and i recalled him in many other things too, so i looked him up on GOOGLE . I was shocked to find he had passed away some 7 years ago .Also i was suprised to see just how many movies he had been in. He was a great actor and should be recognised for this one day. |

Brion happened to be in both versions. If you're curious as I am about viewing the 'Icelandic' version and Brion's performance in it, I'd let 20th Century Fox know by viewing and signing the petition. I think it is worth a shot. |

| Comments: | It is still hard to fathom that Brion passed away nearly a decade past. just recently, I watched both Blade Runner - The Final Cut and Enemy Mine on DVD. Watching him as Leon in Blade Runner is always a pure delight. Watching him as the cranky outlaw miner Stubbs in Enemy Mine made me cheer more when Stubbs was killed near the end. Brion did an excellent job in both roles. The former where you felt sympathy for him. The latter where you despised him and cheered when he got burned alive in a vat of molten liquid. Brion, we still love you and miss you terribly. Rest in peace. You're still the hippest and the coolest.

I signed this before,but I don't think it went through. I was thinking about Brion's move "The Horror Show" the other night,and the next day decided to see how he was,and if he had a MySpace. Imagine my shock and horror to find out he is dead,and has been dead for about 8 years. I can't believe it!:( I only saw him in that one movie,but am going to check out the others,especially "Tango & Cash." He was SO FUNNY in "The Horror Show"! He made it seem like a comedy instead of a horror picture. Especially in the electric chair scene. It's strange that he didn't want to do another role like that,because he was so damn good in it! CrazySexyCool!:) He scared the hell out of me,which is the trademark of a very talented actor. Well,that's it. I just wanted to share my feelings & sorry Brion won't be making any more pictures. I was thinking about Mr. James in that movie "The Horror Show" last night,and decided to see if he had a Myspace where I could perhaps message him or be his friend.Or at the very least look him up and see if he had any new movies coming out. I think he was very sexy,handsome,and had a great sense of humor. To my horror and sadness,I found out he had passed away,and at only age 57? I was,like,WTH???? I can't believe it. The only movie I've seen him in is "The Horror Show." He scared the HELL out of me in that one,which is the trademark of a truly talented actor. I read the interview on here,saw the pics (BTW,congratulations on a great site;you must have worked your ass off on it,but it was a labor of love.:)) and the interview was very cool;he was very honest and straighforward and,from the accounts of the people on here who knew him,loved him,and the ones who met him,Brion James sounds like a truly exceptional human being. Awesomely cool. I want to extend my condolences to his family and friends;you will always love him and miss him,along with all of his devoted fans;including me,I'm going to check out his other movies. Last time I saw him on TV was short before, when I caught DOA while zapping through the programs late at night. I wondered what sort of movie he would be doing right now and when he would cross my path again (on TV of course ^_^). And like Bill who has signed the guestbook before I googled how Brion is doing, just to find out that he's been dead for over 7 years now. I felt like an idiot,like I had been living under a rock for 7 years. I saw the 5th Element 2000 on TV, feeling so happy to see Bion's still acting. All of this seems so bitter now. | Comments: | I just recently watched Armed and Dangerous, followed by the film Southern Comfort. Brion was remarkable in those two films. Later on that day, I caught both 48 Hours and Another 48 Hours on one of the local cable channels. I'm still amazed that Brion's police character turned out to be the villain in the end. I was definately not expecting that to happen.
I'm definately looking forward to the 25th Anniversary release of Blade Runner. I'm certain that Brion would be happy to see it finally out on DVD, the way the fans have wanted to see it. |

I remembered Brion James from many of his films and tv guest appearances. I remember him from: 'Red Heat' 'Tango & Cash' 'Hong Kong '97' 'Diplomatic Siege' (His last role that was dedicated to him. Brion played a US army General that was a nam vet). | Comments: | Well, it's been quite a while since I last signed, but I have gone to his site often. I am his niece (my mom Sherry Lyn James--whom we miss also) and I loved him very much. It is so awesome to read the sincere and kind remarks about him. All my Uncles are so extraordinary. It makes me so proud to be related to them. Nana and Papa were wonderful grandparents to me and I miss them too. Brent must be having a great time with all of them who have gone on before us. One thing that really bothers me, is that you hear over and over on the comments here that people had no idea he had passed away. I think Hollywood did a great disservice to Brion's memory by not honoring him like they should have. I think Biography on A&E should do a show on him. | Comments: | I am a magazine publisher, and now working in filmmaking. I had always been a HUGE fan of Brion's. I mean it. Myself and some friends had talked all throughout the late 1980s into the 1990s about how we would meet Brion and tell him about the fan club we were going to make for him. His movies would be playing on video in our homes all the time, as we just couldn't get enough of his acting and characterizations. As time went by, and we have gone on to other things in life, I would still think of the day I could meet Brion and tell him what affect he had on us.
I never knew that he had passed away in 1999 until this evening, when reading it on IMDB. He had popped into my head earlier in the day about working with him, and then realizing that I had not seen him nor heard about him in a long time. I thought perhaps he was just taking a break until the next big project. Now, I am shocked and saddened. He really was a talent that had not even come close to seeing his prime. His time indeed was still coming. What a sad shame that he has passed and gone. I normally don't fill out comment forms much, but I did want to share my thoughts about Brion. He is missed in my heart for sure, and I never did get to meet him. Well, I can hope that somewhere, "out there" wherever he is, he knows now what he meant to so many people. Live on, Brion! |

We spent endless hours talking about his diffrent roles and his personal life. I enjoyed taking Brion tamales during the holidays My mom would always make a special batch for him. Brion would often have me repairing broken things at his condo. Once Brion scared me half to death. I thought he was seroiusly arguing with someone, only he was rehersing his lines.

A sad day indeed that day in 1999. | Comments: | Brion was a very close friend of mine. We met on the Patrick Swayze movie 'Steel Dawn'. It was my first movie, and his advice on the set was invaluable. We remained friends over the years, and he was one of the most gracious, accomodating people I ever met. He was also the most professional actor I ever worked with. The last time I saw him was at a fan convention in May of 1999. I hung out with him and a mutual friend that Saturday night, and then received the shocking news only weeks later that he had died. | Comments: | The first time I saw Brion was in Blade Runner,where he did a remarkable job playing Leon Kowalski. I thought his character was an interesting one in Ridley Scott's science fiction noir and cyberpunk classic. The second time I saw Brion was in Enemy Mine, where I utterly despised his character in Wolfgang Petersen's science fiction cult classic. The character of Stubbs, the outlaw miner and scavenger definately got what he deserved in the end at the hands of Dennis Quaid's character and those who played the Dracs. I also enjoyed watching Brion in Steel Dawn and The Fifth Element. Plus the 48 Hours films and Tango&Cash.
Brion, you were the hippest and the coolest. I think The Fifth Element was your best role, when it came to the good guys. We all love you and we will miss you. Rest in peace. The cinema screen will not be the same without you. |

It is also quite apparent that the many, many fans that have graced this site with a warm tribute to Brion are truly special people! I'm so glad this website is a comfort to so many. I re-watched one of my favorite all time movies, Blade Runner, the other day and was surfing the net reading about the movie. Brion James was one of me and my family's favorite actors growing up. My Uncle was a huge film buff, and him and I would always be quoting lines. Some of my favorite memories of my Uncle are of him spouting lines like, "Mother? I'll tell you about my mother!" and "Wake up! Time to die!" And of course, "How LONG do I LIVE? (crash!) LONGER than YOU!" Throughout the eighties it would always be a thrill for our family to see Brion James in movies. We would all be watching a movie, and at first we were like, "There's Leon!" And then of course later, "Look! Brion James!" He is just one of our family's favorites and I will miss seeing him appear in future films. He was one of the best. |

I'm 28 and live in Berlin, Germany, working as a police officer. It's a necessity for me to tell you that it will be a great pleasure for me spending more than only one minute to sign the guestbook (nice invite over the posts) of such an outstanding actor. Consulting my dictionary for this post alone will take two hours *blink*. So today I fortunately found this page and now please let me tell you a few things: When I was younger my best friend Jochen and I loved watching movies when we met. When we watched some movies in which you'd played a role we realized that we never saw you playing a leading role. Every following movie we joked a little bit and since that moment you were formaly known as "Der Nebenrollenmann" (literal translated: "the besideroleman"; free translated probably: "the sideshowman"). But our respect for you growed fast! The joke turned into seriousness. We noticed your remarkable performances and devotion for each role and you became one of our most favorite actors. And we never understood why you didn't even get the real leading part of a movie. At least we never saw anyone. One day we decided to get a photo of you and to give it a place on the wall, 'cause we admired your performance and outstanding presence on tv. We realized that we were grown up with you and that you've had a role in every good series we loved. But a little while later our ways geographical separated from each other so that we couldn't watch any movies together again. Our plan about your picture fell into oblivion. But not you. Three years later (summer 2003) perplexed I had to notice that you've gone out of our sight. It made me very sad when I realized that there won't come up any new movie with you. But today it's a good day to remember our plan, I guess. I'll translate it into action next time. Now I'll search a nice photo of you smiling in the camera. Brion, you definetly have reached all actors dream. You've enjoyed our hearts and let us periodicaly forget our daily problems for at least two hours. You still do it. | Comments: | It is a beautiful thing to read about the love and devotion so many have for Brion. So many keep his memory alive and well - it helps me keep the memories I have of him alive.
I never fully grasped the impact Brion had on so many people’s lives. I always saw Brion as the funny and goofy brother of my step-dad that would come home for the holidays. Who would play with us kids more than he would socialize with the adults. Now, it seems I cant go more than a few weeks at a time without seeing you in a movie or a making an appearance on a TV show. Brion - you are missed by many, you are missed by me. |

| Comments: | hello.... i just love what you have done for our great friend brion.... what a generous soul and what an appetite for life he had! - that's how i remember him (amongst many many other attributes)..... thank you for creating this site!.... phoenix point, the last usa production brion was in is now close to completion (it takes time when you're an independent film maker!).... currently doing the final audio mix, next a little colour correction and then el presto! it's completed.... so all of brion's family, friends and fans will have another chance to see him in full living glory... also, i created a musical hommage for him (which will play over the credit titles at the end of the movie - i sampled some of his lines from the movie and mixed them into the audio track - now we have him on our soundtrack album too!.... he had originally agreed to perform a blues number which i had intended to produce but alas (wouldn't it have been brilliant to have had a record of him singing!) - i know he can sing because he sang for me on several occasions, as well as dance like a mad rhythmic demon many times! - that was truly a sight to behold - ungorgettable and ingenouse dance moves!!).... anyway, i wanted to keep in touch and to update you on the progress of the film.... i will be screening it for distributers etc at some stage this summer so i really hope you can be there for it.... otherwise, i would be more than happy to send you a dvd of the film to view in your own time and pleasure..... just email me your address and i will include it on my mailing list.... thanks again for your beautiful site.... i so appreciate it (eventhough everytime i visit it, it makes me a little sad - but a little happy too).... peace, love, and eternal friendship.... remember the old proverb: my friend's friend is my friend too!..

| Comments: | It's a sad statement about so-called "entertainment news" magazines and shows when it is years later before so many know of the passing of what I personally consider to be a movie icon. I was searching the internet for some reason as to why I hadn't seen Brion in anything lately since an old X-Files episode. He added a whole new dimension to every film he appeared in, and alot of them will suffer for the lack of his presence. Rest in peace, brother. |

| Comments: | I met Brion on the set of "Showdown". It was filmed at my High School, and I was there as an extra. Brion took the time to talk to my friends and I for about an hour and was nice, funny, and a true gentleman. I had no idea he had passed until a few minutes ago. I am truly saddened and he will be sorely missed.

| Comments: | I wanted to say that it was nice seeing this site, I had the priviledge of being Mr. James Last make-up artist on a short film he did for the American Film Institute, in 1999. the film was made a few weekes before he left to do the King Is Alive. The only reason I did the film in the first place was that I was told Mr. James was attached toi the project and I looked very forward top working with him. | Comments: | I am very sorry to hear that Brion has passed on due to a heart attack back in 1999, but how is it he keeps making films? Very perplexing. On the Internet Movie Data Base (www.IMDB.com)it shows three new films which Brion is appearing in and they've all seem to be made AFTER 1999!
Also, ironically, Nick Oleson, Brion's roommate at the time who was also an actor, died mysteriously from drowning in his bathtub due to a "supposed" heart attack as well. Such an ironic coincidence considering how physically fit both men were at the time of their demise. |

Brion was a very giving person and presented an assembly for the student body during a Red Ribbon Week. It just goes to show that you can become someone coming from a small town like Beaumont. | Comments: | I visited this site for the first time today and learned of the passing of Brion James. I was searching for a way to confirm a suspicion thats been nagging at me for a while. On one of my children's video's (Kidsongs Cars Boats Trains and Planes,WB 1986)I saw a gentleman (portraying the merry-go-round operator)who's face I immediately recognized from Blade Runner. I didn't know his name although I had seen his face a million times in other movies. But he did not receive a credit in the video. This began an on-line quest to learn more about the man I learned was Brion James. This quest lasted months ( I've got lots of children) and I've never seen a reference to this video. And now after this much time researching the gentleman's films, I learn today that he has passed and the news saddened me. As I read the interviews and news clips as well as the guestbook entries, I began to feel badly about having taken his presence for granted. I hope I haven't offended anyone with what began as a trivial pursuit, but it has become important to me now more than before to know the truth. Does any reader know if in fact the man in the video was Brion James? Please e-mail me if you do. |
