| Comments: | Dear Dixie Chicks-Ms Maines, Freud said “There is always some truth in jest”, with that being said, I agree with what Ms Maiens said about George W. Bush. I never agreed with sending troops over-seas to fight where so many were lost in a fight that not many knew what they were fighting for. I am Canadian and I’m saying that most, not all, of us believe that he, Mr. Bush, only sent troops over there to finish a fight that his father started. I believe he automatically assumed that Canada would follow suit. To my horrific dismay, we did and lost soldiers too. I may have come late to the “fandom” of The Dixie Chicks. The first song I heard was “Cowboy Take Me Away” which led me to your earlier work and an avid fan of your present. After watching “Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing” only made me love you more. It is good to know that some Americans feel the same way as us Canadians. With that being said, it is also good to know that aside from musical talent and being easy on the eyes, you have opinions and the intellect to voice them along with you songs. Just to let you know, this is one fan you NEVER left you side and never will! Keep up the great work, lots of love and respect from Canada, Rebecca Cardy (Ontario) P.S. | Comments: | Hiya girls, i had an incident yesterday that i thought i should tell u about. first off, i am a democrat, living in a mostly republican neighborhood. My house is targeted a lot for graffiti & teepeeing and stuff. So yesterday i was cleaning and i had you’re music turned up and my window open. After you’re “not ready to make nice song” one of my neighbor’s came over, and knocked on the door, He asked me to turn my offensive music off and that you where disgraceful. I am an extremely shy 20 year old, but in that moment i asked myself “ Would the dixie chicks do that? would natalie mumble oh, sorry and slink up to her room and clean with out music?” and of coarse the answer was ... NO! They would not! So i said “ I’m sorry you feel that way, the Dixie Chicks happen to be my favorite band and i would be happy to turn my music DOWN , but i am not going to turn it off” and so he said “ Well, if you don’t i’m going to call the police” I knew this was an empty threat, he had threatened my friend for the same reason and had ended up doing nothing but tepeeing a tree of hers ( which she was going to cut down any way) so i said “ I have the right of free speech, just like Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, and i’m ready to use it again you, with out suffering from it, because noting you can do could possibly bring me -or the chicks- down” and he left just like that. | Comments: | Hey Girls i had a possibly realistic idea for a concert in summer 2008. i wonder if you've heard of Top Of the Park in Ann Arbor MI? well its basically a summer music festival. There’s a huge area blocked off with food stands and different musicians play every night. It’s really great but Ann Arbor ( A2) is sort of a small town, so i don’t know if you guys would do it. There also isn’t high securitty ( thinking of the death threat) but A2 is a mostly NON-bush-supporting town, so maybe? well please consider it. Lots of my friends would like to meet you and i know at least one little person -a 13 year old girl- who would LOVE to meet you. You are her dream. ANYWAY, just an idea. | Comments: | Woo-hoo!!!! I am still screaming and cheering from the Grammys!!! It is about time people got it together again!!! I have loved you girls since you came out in the music business. When the stations didn't play you, I boycotted them and played Chicks cds in my car instead of the radio. Now, when I do hear you on the radio, I call the station (every time) and say "Thank you for playing the Dixie Chicks." I still sing Chick songs when I go out to karaoke, and I don't care if I'm at Amvets or where (I did get fired from there, tho...) lol Please, more concerts and more tours, you probably don't want to come to Alaska, but if you go back to Vegas, I will find a way there!!!
