| Comments: | My father was Arthur Walter Spurr (died 1987); his father was Joseph Spurr (died 1917) and his father was Anthony Spurr (born in Swineshead, Lincolnshire in 1837 and died in Cravenhill, Victoria, Australia in 1905). Anthony Spurr appears to have married Jane Briggs in 1861 and they seem have emigrated to Australia sometime in the 1870s and also seem to have had just the one child - my great-grandfather. (I'm not much interested in family history, but this may be of interest/assistance to someone!) |

| Comments: | My name i Johnny Spurr, My wife is Lisbeth von Spurr, and my son is Lukas M. A. von Spurr. My mother is Helene Spurr and grandfather is Otto Jørgensen Spurr. They came from Falster in Denmark. My grandfather said that the family orginally came from Austria, and spread out to Northern Europe; Scandinavia and England. But that should be many houndred years ago. Now we are only 13 Spurr`s back in Denmark. The name is a protected name in Denmark.

| Comments: | I have been trying to find how Josiah Edward Spurr might be related to myself. I am of the Roy Spurr line in BC. He came from Nova Scotia as a young man following the railway and finally settling in the Prince George area. His father, I believe was a sea captian. I also have a picture of a gentleman I believe was Roy's father. I hope there is some one out there who has some info.
I do know that we have ancestors from the Boston area that moved north. Does that make sense? Any way if anyone has info regarding Josiah Edward Spurr and Roy Spurr please contact me. Thanks |

I have tried to push it back to an Edward Spurr from Yorkshire, England (came to America about 1837, wife's name Eliza Tolerton or Towlerton). My Spurr line is myself Orson Kirk Spurr Jr, father Orson Kirk Spurr, grandfather Howard Spurr, ggf Edwin Spurr (ggm, 2nd wife Mary Jane Porter), gggf Edward Spurr. | Comments: | Hi I stumbled on this page by total accident. Im a Spurr as well. When I was young i remember getting a letter from a brian spurr in south africa. I thought it was excellent knowing i had possible kin folk there. I kept the letter for several years and when my dad Augusta Carl Spurr died in 1998 i wrote to the address on the letter but in a years time it was returned sadly. I have always been inrested where i came from and where we started. If i can get any info at all i would love it. Im so thankful i found this.!!! |
